Inverter Technology Inverter dvantages Copared to Non-Inverter Energy-Saving Technological Features Features of Inverter Technology n inverter is a device for converting frequency. The technology is used in any hoe appliances and controls the electric voltage, current and frequency. Inverter air conditioners can vary their cooling/heating capacity by adjusting the power supply frequency of their copressors. In contrast, non-inverter air conditioners have a fixed cooling/heating capacity and can only control the indoor teperature by starting or stopping their copressors. s a result, inverter air conditioners are ore energy-saving and cofortable than non-inverter air conditioners. Powerful Inverter air conditioners operate at axiu capacity as soon as they start up. s a result, the set teperature can be reached ore quickly. Energy Saving fter the indoor teperature approaches the set teperature, Inverter Control adjusts to low capacity operation to aintain this teperature. This akes inverter odels ore energy-saving than non-inverter odels, which ust repeatedly start or stop their copressors to aintain the roo teperature. Cofortable Inverter air conditioners finely adjust capacity according to changes in the air-conditioning load and the difference between the indoor teperature and set teperature is sall. They give higher cofort levels than with noninverter air conditioners. Variable Operation Inverter Power Control Power source Raise frequency Lower frequency Non-inverter type air conditioner Power source High-speed rotation Low-speed rotation Constant speed rotation High capacity Low capacity Fixed capacity Inverter air conditioners are able to vary their operating capacity. Non-inverter air conditioners can only operate at a fixed capacity. Cofortable Teperature Control Tep. Set tep. Swing Reluctance DC Motor for s Neodyiu agnets are used in the pink-coloured area. Swing copressor Reluctance DC otor DC Motor for Fans The DC otor allows fine rotation control, which reduces energy consuption. The otor also provides iproveents in operational efficiency of up to 40%, copared to an C otor. These iproveents are particularly noticeable in the low-speed range. Thanks to its sooth rotation, the swing copressor decreases friction and vibration. It also prevents the leakage of refrigerant gas during copression. These advantages provide quiet and efficient operation. Daikin DC Inverter odels are equipped with the Reluctance DC otor for copressors. The Reluctance DC otor uses 2 different types of torque, neodyiu agnet* 1 and reluctance torque* 2. This otor saves energy by generating ore power with a saller electric current than C or conventional DC otors. It is ore efficient at the low frequencies ost coonly used by air conditioners,* 3 iproving efficiency by approxiately %. *1. neodyiu agnet is approxiately 10 ties stronger than a standard ferrite agnet. *2. Daikin calls an inverter odel that is equipped with a DC otor DC Inverter. DC otor offers higher efficiency than an C otor. DC otor uses the power of agnets to attract and repel to generate rotation. DC otor that is equipped with high-power neodyiu agnets, which enable even greater efficiency, is called a Reluctance DC otor. 5 6

Night Set Mode Pressing the Off tier button autoatically selects Night Set Mode. This function prevents excessive cooling or heating for a pleasant sleep. fter 60 inutes, the roo teperature is raised by 0.5 C for cooling operation or lowered by 2 C for heating operation. See page 10 orry Free uto-restart after Power Failure The air conditioner eorises the settings for ode, airflow, teperature, etc., and autoatically returns to the when power is restored after a power failure. Self-Diagnosis with Digital Display Malfunction codes are shown on the digital display panel of the wireless reote controller for fast and easy aintenance. nticorrosion Treatent of Outdoor Heat Exchanger Fins The outdoor unit s heat exchanger fins are processed using a special anticorrosion treatent. The surface is covered with a thin acrylic resin layer to enhance the fins resistance to acid rain and salt corrosion. See page 12 Cofort Control Quick aring Function During low outdoor teperatures, this function pre-heats the copressor to shorten the tie required to discharge war air. utoatic Defrosting Before starting heating operation, a sensor checks for frost in the outdoor unit and perfors autoatic defrosting if necessary so that only war air is discharged. These 2 functions are available with the heat pup type. Econo Mode This ode liits axiu running current and power consuption. This iproves operating efficiency and also prevents circuit breakers fro being overloaded. See page 7 Inverter Powerful Operation This function is convenient for boosting cooling/heating perforance for a -inute period both when you first turn on your air conditioner or want to quickly change the roo teperature. See page 10 Hoe Leave Operation Hoe Leave Operation continues operation to prevent a roo fro becoing too hot or cold, while you are sleeping or out of your hoe. Select any teperature fro 18 to 32 C for cooling operation and 10 to 30 C for heating operation. See page 10 Indoor Unit On/Off Switch The unit can be conveniently started anually in the event the wireless reote controller is isplaced or the wireless reote controller batteries are not charged. See page 10 Titaniu patite Photocatalytic ir-purifying Filter This filter contains the advanced photocatalytic aterial titaniu apatite. hile the filter s icron-level fibres trap dust, this photocatalyst adsorbs and decoposes bacteria. The filter can be used for up to 3 years with proper aintenance. See page 11 Mould-Proof Operation Mould-Proof Operation autoatically runs fan-only operation for 1 hour when cooling or dry operation is stopped. This airflow prevents the generation of ould and ould odours inside the indoor unit. See page 11 ipe-clean Flat Panel The flat panel design can be cleaned with only the single pass of a cloth across its sooth surface. The flat panel can also be easily reoved for ore thorough cleaning. See page 11 13 14
