Powercall DX-5200 TB3.7 200/100 Watt Electronic Siren Thank you for your purchase of the new Powercall DX5200 TB3.7 Electronic Siren. This siren has the Old School tones that has been highly requested by our customer base. This is a 200 Watt siren that can be wired for 100 Watts using 1 speaker or 200 watts using 2 speakers. See enclosed for more information. The DX5200 has a directly connected Terminal Strip on the bottom of the siren for easy connections and less hassle than the older wiring harness sirens. We recommend using crimp connectors with your siren vs. sticking the wire under the screw. If you do not use the U crimp connectors, be sure that wiring does not fray out and touch another terminal. This product is designed, built and serviced by Powercall Sirens LLC 12 volts / 100/200 Watts Current Draw: 15A Average / 20A Max
FROM LEFT TO RIGHT SPK1+ AND SPK Connect these terminals to one speaker. The polarity generally doesn t matter and you will do no damage by hooking them up backwards. Your speaker should be 11ohm. (See speaker note enclosed in this siren packet) Ground - Hook this wire to a good ground source, free of paint, primer or any obstructions. Use of a star washing is highly recommended. 12v+ - Hook this wire to a fused 12V power source using the fusible link included with this kit. We DO NOT recommend using a fuse block for your siren unless the block is made for that purpose. Radio s - These are generally not used, but can be hooked to a low output radio to be re-broadcasted through your siren speakers. Horn Ring - THIS IS A POSITIVE MOMENTARY TERMINAL ONLY. Do not hook this to a negative signal. While in the MANUAL MODE, touching this terminal to a quick 12v pulse will cycle through each of the tones of the siren. Radio and Standby will give the Air Horn Sound when used.
N/A Terminals - These terminals are not used. Do not hook anything to them. SPK2+ AND SPK2 Connect these terminals to a second speaker if applicable. The polarity generally doesn t matter and you will do no damage by hooking them up backwards. Your speaker should be 11ohm (See speaker note enclosed in this siren packet) We recommend using these terminals for 100 watt use so the wires are away from the ground and power terminals. SPK1 and SPK2 do the same thing, each put out 100 watts, so it does not matter which ones you use. DO NOT HOOK THE SPEAKERS UP USING A COMMON WIRE, IN PARALLEL OR SERIES. HOOKING YOUR SPEAKERS UP INCORRECTLY WILL DAMAGE THE SIREN AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY IF THE INSTALLATION RESULTS IN DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRONIC SIREN. If you are replacing your siren with one of ours, IT IS IMPERATIVE that you check your existing speaker wiring to ensure it s wired correctly. Failure to do so could damage your siren beyond repair. Recommended Speaker s for our Sirens and Notes Powercall Sirens #1 speaker recommendation for our sirens is the Feniex Triton speaker. Why you ask? Most speakers have the magnet facing backwards, like the older Federal Dynamax and many off brand speakers. The magnet on a speaker is what requires the most cooling when the siren is in operation. Customers and manufacturers who put "Behind the Grill" or "Concealed" speakers behind steel bumpers, sometimes don't realize that when they do that, the back of the speaker (The magnet) does not get cooled since it is blocked by the bumper. This can hamper the life of your speaker and cause it to blow due to lack of cooling. This is the reason these speakers come with a "Behind the Grill" bracket, because that is technically where they need to go, where they get cooled correctly. The Triton speaker is the #1 recommended speaker for all of my Powercall Sirens. It s a very inexpensive speaker, starting at $99.00 and is available on our website for immediate purchase.
