Record of Proving Tests & Assessments Report No. 3040249EC Description of the Product: The IPES-IR3 Flame Detector is a nominal 24 Vdc (18 to 32 Vdc range) device intended for connection to a compatible controller that provides separate power and alarm initiating circuits. Output options include dry Form C relay contacts (rated 10 ma to 5 A at 32 Vdc), a 4-20 ma analog output and RS-485 digital signal protocol output. The IPES-IR3 Flame Detector enclosure is a cylindrical shaped housing constructed of aluminum alloy. Both ends of the housing are closed by covers. The base cover is solid and contains the external grounding lug, wiring entry and bracket mounting post. The window cover contains one sapphire lens cemented in place and externally protected by permanent guards. The window cover also contains the mounting holes for the electronics. The base cover is provided with one ¾ inch - 14 NPT conduit entry. O-rings are provided on the covers for environmental protection. The maximum free internal volume of the apparatus is approximately 452 cm 3. FM APPROVALS III EXAMINATION AND TESTS 3.1 All applicable testing of the IPES-IR3 Flame Detector was conducted under FM Approvals Project IDs 3040111, 3037880, 3031854 and 3028847. All documents and correspondence applicable to this program is on file at FM Approvals. 3.2 Flameproof Ex d Examination and Testing Against EN 60079-0 and EN 60079-1 - The IPES-IR3 Flame Detector was satisfactorily assessed against IEC standards 60079-0:2007 Ed. 5 and IEC 60079-1:2007 Ed. 6 as flameproof Ex d IIC T4 Gb Ta = -40 C to +85 C as described in IECEx Test Report US/FMG/ExTR11.0009/00 (FM Approvals Project ID 3040111). As the EN 60079-0 and EN 60079-1 standards are harmonized with the IEC 60079-0 and IEC 60079-1 standards, the assessment in the referenced IECEx test report is considered to be satisfactory for flameproof for II 2 G Ex d IIC T4 Gb Ta = -40 C to +85 C. 3.3 The following additional marking has been added for compliance with the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC. 3.3.1 The specific marking for explosion protection,, along with the associated 0470 for the Notified Body responsible for the surveillance of the quality system (per Annex VII of 94/9/EC). 3.3.2 The address of the manufacturer. 3.3.3 The category marking II 2 G supplements the Equipment Protection Level marking Gb. IV MARKINGS The manufacturer's steel nameplate is permanently secured to the exterior of the enclosure. The markings, as depicted on drawing GSKF.754312.136-FM Rev. 12.05.11, are shown below. V REMARKS Installation shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and EN 60079-14, as applicable. VI SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF USE / SCHEDULE OF LIMITATIONS 1. Consult the manufacturer if dimensional information on the flameproof joints is necessary. 2. FM APPROVALS VII MANUFACTURER'S RESPONSIBILITIES 7.1 The manufacturer shall advise FM Approvals of all proposed changes to the documents listed in Section IX. No changes of any nature shall be made unless notice of the proposed changes has been submitted and written authorization obtained from FM Approvals. The Approved Product-Revision Report, FM Approvals Form 797, shall be forwarded to FM Approvals as notice of proposed changes. 7.2 On 100% of production, the manufacturer shall inspect the protective grounding system. VIII FACILITIES AND PROCEDURES AUDIT The manufacturer's design control and manufacturing facilities located in Gatchina, Leningradskaya oblast, Russian Federation is subject to follow-up audit inspections. The facilities and quality control procedures in place have been found to be satisfactory to manufacture product identical to that examined and tested as described in this report.
