MARKET SURVEILLANCE Methods of enforcement Market surveillance is carried out during or after placing electrical products on the Serbian market and/or into their intended use. The activities of market surveillance authorities are divided in the two types of activities: 1. PROACTIVE - based on financial and human resources, taking in to consideration the results from previous years, state of play on the market, the new risk recognized, risk assessment etc. (Market surveillance of electrical equipment is largely carried out in a proactive manner) and 2. REACTIVE - is mostly initiated in response to complaints made by consumers and other users or to RAPEX notifications, NEPRO) The primary form of surveillance is visual inspection. Compliance with administrative requirements (Documentary check) is also checked. If there are grounds for suspicion, further laboratory readings (Laboratory testing on the base of an appropriate sample) are taken.
