DETAILS OF ADDENDUM: This two page addendum plus attachment is issued as follows: SPECIFICATIONS 1. Section 16010 Electrical General Requirements Delete item 1.4 in its entirety and replace with the following: 1.4 Upgrade the existing 120/208V emergency generator to comply with the latest edition of CSA C282 and as specified herein. This work includes offloading and installation of the Ownersupplied Kohler generator enclosure. 2. Section 16238 Power Generation Diesel DRAWINGS Replace this section in its entirety and replace with the revised section included in this addendum. 3. Drawing E1-1 Electrical Proposed Plans Reference Detail 1: 1. There is an existing high voltage underground ductbank that runs to the existing unit substation located in room HA29 (near the corner of the building). Locate and verify exact routing of this ductbank prior to any excavation work. If necessary to avoid the high voltage ductbank, shorten the length of the generator concrete pad to minimum 176 long. 2. Relocate the existing battery charger to the new generator enclosure. Field install the two (2) circuit breakers as specified within the new Kohler generator enclosure. Provide mounting structure comprised of 1-5/8 u-shaped strut with mounting feet. Coordinate final locations with the generator supplier to ensure that the breakers are accessible and do not interfere with the operation and maintenance of the generator. Connect the line side of each breaker to the generator alternator using RW90 conductors in liquid tight conduit, conductor size to match load conductors. Coordinate final terminations with the generator manufacturer. 2. Where single conductor cables enter into an electrical enclosure, provide a non-ferrous entry plate to prevent circulating currents. Reference Block Diagram 2 Emergency Generator controls 1. Verify exact cabling connections between the remote annunciator and the generator controller with the generator supplier. 2. Supply and install power connections to the existing generator auxiliaries including battery charger, block heater and strip heater.

DAL - Architecture Building DIESEL Page 1 PART 1 GENERAL 1.1 Scope of Work.1 This section covers the work for the modification of the existing emergency generator to comply with CSA C282, supply and installation of field wiring, start-up, testing and commissioning of the emergency generator..2 Upgrade the existing generator as indicated herein. Coordinate work related to upgrading the existing emergency generator with Sansom Equipment Ltd. and the generator manufacturer (Kohler)..3 Receive and offload the Owner-supplied sound attenuated, weatherproof drop over emergency generator enclosure. Coordinate delivery with the Owner. If necessary, safely store the enclosure unit until it can be installed. Install the enclosure as part of the generator upgrade work. 4. Complete civil works including concrete pad and bollard replacement with new. Reinstate asphalt disturbed by this work. 1.2 References.1 CSA - C282-15, Emergency Electrical Power Supply for Buildings. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 Existing Equipment.1 One 94 KW, 118 kva, 208V, 3 phase Kohler diesel engine standby emergency generator set complete with non-walk in, enclosure, roof mounted silencer and sub-base fuel tank..2 Battery charger. 2.2 Owner Supplied.1 Drop over sound, attenuated, weather proof enclosure Equipment (Model GWE A2-80) as follows:.1 Weather resistant, sound attenuated aluminum drop over enclosure with access doors..2 Enclosure Dimensions: 90 High x 54 wide x 164 L + 23 Intake hood..3 External Intake hood..4 External Discharge hood..5 DC Light package..6 Incandescent light package..7 120V, 20A GFCI receptacles.

Refer to drawings for quantity and ampacity ratings. The minimum short circuit rating for each circuit breaker must be 10,000A (RMS momentary symmetrical) at the rated voltage..2 Circuit breaker enclosure: NEMA 3R enclosure..3 Each circuit breaker is to be complete with provision to padlock in the OFF position and auxiliary contact (breaker open)..4 Include line and load side lugs. 2.4 Exhaust Systems.1 Include fittings, supports and accessories as required. 2.5 Auxiliary.1 One (1) remote emergency stop. Equipment.2 Modification of the generator controls to connect the new remote annunciator. PART 3 EXECUTION.3 Modification of the generator to include alarm annunciation and alarm/trouble contacts to comply with CSA C282. 3.1 Installation.1 Disconnect, remove and safely store the existing emergency generator to facilitate removal of the existing concrete pad. Remove the existing electrical and controls wiring to the existing generator. Coordinate this work with the Owner..2 Handle, install and connect the emergency generator set in strict accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Ensure instructions are available on site when required.

Provide new reinforced concrete pad for the upgraded standby emergency and new drop over enclosure as specified. Verify exact conduit stub-up locations with the new drop over generator enclosure shop drawing and the existing generator layout..4 Provide cast-in-place concrete equipment attachments as required by the equipment manufacturer..5 Provide correct type and full number, size and length of anchor bolts and other connecting bolts as required by equipment manufacturer. Preset anchor bolts in concrete where convenient; otherwise leave suitable openings in concrete and set anchor bolts later using epoxy anchors or other approved fastening methods..6 Coordinate location and provide items for embedding into castin-place concrete..7 Install the existing emergency generator back in place on new concrete pad..8 Arrange and pay for Sansom Equipment Ltd./Kohler Power Systems to supervise and assist with upgrading, modifying and testing of the existing emergency generator and associated equipment to comply with CSA - C282..9 Remove and dispose the existing generator outdoor enclosure. Install the new drop over enclosure over the existing generator and sub-base fuel tank..10 Remove any rust with a wire brush, prime surface and repaint the existing generator components including the sub-base fuel tank, alternator enclosure and supports..11 Install new generator output circuit breakers as indicated and connect line side to the existing generator alternator wiring. Confirm mounting locations with the manufacturer. Connect breakers to loads as indicated. Connect open position auxiliary contacts (one per breaker) to the generator control panel for annunciation..12 Supply and install new power and control field wiring to the existing auxiliary equipment as follows: battery charger, block heater, strip heater. These devices are to be connected to a

DAL - Architecture Building DIESEL Page 4 120V receptacle or the 120/208V load centre within the new generator enclosure as directed by the generator manufacturer..13 Change all fluids and air filters with new..14 If not already installed, add new common alarm and common trouble dry contacts to the existing generator control panel..15 Verify existing trip level of low fuel alarm and advise Consultant if it is set at less than 2 hours of fuel..16 Add new fuel tank leakage alarm and connect to the existing generator control panel for annunciation..17 Add new low coolant level alarm and connect to the existing generator control panel for annunciation..18 Install and connect remote annunciator panel in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Annunciate alarms to comply with CSA C282..19 Install and connect remote emergency stop push button in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions..20 Reinstate asphalt and granular sub-base material affected by this work with new as specified on the drawings..21 Replace the existing bollards with new as specified on the drawings..22 All new generator components, if not Owner-supplied, are to be approved by or supplied by the generator manufacturer. 3.2 Responsibility of.1 Obtain written permission from the Consultant to use and test Temporary Trial Usage permanent equipment and systems prior to acceptance by the Owner..2 The guarantee period must not be affected by temporary trial use of the equipment..3 Clean and renew equipment and systems used before acceptance. Restore to original or new working condition..4 Protect equipment and systems openings from dirt, dust and other foreign materials during temporary usage.

DAL - Architecture Building DIESEL Page 5 3.3 Inspection, Testing.1 Coordinate, arrange, assist and pay the factory certified And Start-Up technician to check the complete installation and be present for the start-up of the upgraded generator. Submit a written report signed by the equipment manufacturer's representative to the Consultant stating the following:.1 That a satisfactory installation of equipment has been performed and outlining any modifications that have been made as a result of the commissioning or testing of the equipment at no additional cost to the Contract..2 That the equipment is now ready for permanent operation..2 Advise in writing at least two weeks in advance of the proposed date for testing and startup..3 Replace defective material or equipment with new material or equipment. Bear costs including re-testing and repairing. 3.4 Field Quality.1 Conduct testing in accordance with CSA C282. Demonstrate: Control.1 Unit start, transfer to load, retransfer to normal power, unit shut down, on "Automatic" control..2 Unit start and shut down on "Manual" control.3 Unit start and transfer on "Test" control..4 Unit start on "Engine start" control..5 Operation of automatic alarms and shut down devices..2 Provide resistive load bank and temporary connecting cables sized for full rating of generator for full load testing. Assist Vendor as required in set-up..3 Run unit on 100% load for a minimum period of four (4) hours to show load carrying ability, stability of voltage and frequency and satisfactory performance of heat exchanger system to provide adequate engine cooling..4 After full load testing, conduct operational testing under normal building load. Run unit on under normal building load (Load Scenario #1 elevator run, fire pump off; Load Scenario #2 elevator off, fire pump run) for a minimum period of one (1) hour..5 During testing, measure sound levels at 1m and 7m. Submit test results to the Owner.

DAL - Architecture Building DIESEL Page 6.6 At end of test run, check battery voltage to demonstrate battery charger has returned battery to fully charged state..7 Submit start up report to the Consultant within five days of successful commissioning of system..8 Provide fuel for testing.
