Henraux Henraux, a leading Italian stone company (1821), once again teamed with Scholten & Baijings to launch the Marbled Pattern Series. The collection features innovative patterned marble surfaces that blend seamlessly into architectural and residential living environments. Made largely of solid marble, Henraux s products aim to preserve and revitalize the marble quarries in Tuscany. Through the production of beautiful products, Henraux seeks to strike a balance between the global environment and the local industry. Henraux s own marble quarries, dating back to Roman times, are the oldest operational sites in the world. Michelangelo s world-renowned David and Pietà used marble from this area. Henraux s tradition derives from an artisanal understanding of craftsmanship, paired with innovative technologies to build architectural ornaments, art, furniture, objects, wall covering and flooring that meet the highest quality and sustainability standards. Scholten & Baijings Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings established their eponymous Scholten & Baijings, Studio for Design, in 2000 and are now widely regarded as one of the most exciting, innovative and dynamic design duos in the world. Renowned for their sensitive and subtle yet functional products, their striking and often unexpected use of colour as well as their exquisitely crafted objects, they have applied their distinctive style to everything from ceramics and silverware to textiles and even a concept car.
A new standard Based on the quarry landscape and Henraux s extensive knowhow, six patterns and composed surfaces have been created from various types and sizes of marble. Using a novel production process, Henraux upcycles material by combining marble pieces with vibrant-coloured resin. Graphic lines and patterns enhance the marble compositions. Henraux s expertise, craftsmanship and state-of-the-art techniques make this innovative production method possible. The Collection Each panel in the Marbled Pattern Series is unique. The customer can create collections of panels that are matched or unmatched, restrained or exuberant in colour. The six graduated patterns: Dot, Stripe, Diagonal, Rectangle, Square and Diamond are available in the marble types Versilys, Bianco Macchietta, Arabescato Cervaiole and Statuario Altissimo. These can be combined with four resin colour options. The panels can be applied both horizontally and vertically on walls, furniture and flooring, giving spaces a unique look in colour, marble and finish. Commenting on the Marbled Pattern Series, Stefan Scholten says: A rich assemblage of graphic patterns in solid marble and colour tones is what defines this collection of architectural panels of varying intensities. Scholten & Baijings patterns are elegant as well as unpretentious and approachable. Exquisite decoration is brought to the fore with patterns that are refined and well balanced. Architecture in which a layered richness has been created through the use of subtle colour fields offers a refreshing and contemporary look.
