The New Board was put in place in February, along with some changes to our committees. I would like to thank Mark Conradt and Anne Soter for all their help in getting us going in the right direction. At this time I would like to thank the incoming officers for stepping forward to assume the duties and responsibilities of their respective offices. I would also like to thank Penny By Ted Soter The Villa grounds appear to be in a good position to go into the spring growing season. The lawns, shrubs and trees are responding well to the overall maintenance program applied at this time, and they are adjusting to the weather conditions experienced in this area during the last 3 to 4 months. We are reminding all owners with questions or problems at individual homes to contact the contractor (Mainscape) using their customer service program. If any owners have suggestions President s Message Landscape Committee Report Second Quarter, 2017 Messerknecht for her hard work as our secretary. The current Board of Directors is listed on the panel at the left side of this page. It is also time to recognize all of the committee members who have given freely of their time and talents in successfully handling the affairs of the HOA. Those people are listed on the second page of this newsletter. I am looking forward to working with all of these people to serve our HOA and residents the best we can. for changes to improve the overall landscape applications please get this information to the landscaping committee and it will be reviewed with the horticulturist, landscape committee, Villa board, and the service contractors. Please contact Ted Soter with suggestions in care of the landscape committee at: tedsoter@gmail.com. Landscaping will continue to work toward enhancement of the value of the Villas and we hope all traveling away from southwest Florida for the season remain safe during their travels.

Page 2 Page 2 The The Villas Villas at at Gateway Gateway Greens Greens Second Quarter,, Second 2014 Quarter,, 2017 By Mike Harley Having just taken over the Treasurer position on February 9 th, I don t have much to report on yet regarding how our dues are being spent. The most recent financial report (February) shows our year-to-date expenses are slightly lower than budget. However, it s early in the year and some of the expenses that have been budgeted for haven t been incurred yet. Speaking of the budget, you may be interested in knowing that just 5 line items amount to about 80% of our budget! They are the Master Association fees, lawn care, mulch, roof cleaning and fertilizer & pest control, in that order. The remaining 20% By Jim Black & Terry Butler As if this writing, 28 Villas have been re-roofed, and word is that several others are in the planning stages. Please remember that all of the owners in a duplex or four-plex must sign separate contracts with the same installer, and turn in a Design/Review Request form to the Villas Design/Review Committee for approval before a contract can be signed. That form, and the Roof Replacement Rules and Recommendations document are available on the Documents Page of the Villas website: http:// villasatgatewaygreens.pbworks.com Treasurer s Report Roof Committee Report of the budget is for a couple dozen other expenses. I wear a couple of other hats while serving on the Board I am a member of the Design Review Committee and the Communications Committee. One of the tasks I handle for Communications is keeping the Who to Call List of recommended contractors up to date. If you would like to see a contractor added to the list (or one removed!), just let me know. Also, feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss financial or design review questions. As a reminder, the list and my contact info may be found in the binder you recently received, and on our website. Please contact Ray Fadool, Design/Review committee chairman, with any questions. Clean-Up-Group will be here between April 10th and 21st to perform our semi-annual roof treatment. More information is available in the email sent to you on March 20, or CLICK HERE to see the details of that announcement on the website. We will do our best to keep you informed by email of CUG s daily progress through the community so you can know exactly which day to prepare for their presence. Page 3 The Villas at Gateway Greens Second Quarter,, 2017 Social Committee Report By Anne Soter The Villa Social was held at GG&CC on Thursday, March 2nd. We had 99 people attend - the largest crowd ever! I think everyone would agree that the food was outstanding and everyone had a great time! I'd like to thank all the residents for such a fabulous turnout! I've already booked the VILLA SOCIAL for next year. It will be Thursday, March 8th, 2018-SO MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW Two get well cards and one sympathy card were sent this quarter. We were so saddened to lose our neighbor Johanna Alpar in February. She had been a long time resident and we will miss her beautiful smile and seeing her walk Calvin around the neighborhood. Our condolences also go out to Bob Wilson on the recent loss of his wife, Barbara Ansted. She also will be missed in the neighborhood. Directory Updates If you are new to the Villas, or have changed your email address or phone number(s), please let us know.
