3. Description of the device Smart pellet controller (SPC) for PPB20, PPB30, PPB50 is a multi-functional electronic controller, which is integral part of the common system for control and automation Smart Home. It is designed to perform flexible control of complex systems of actuating mechanisms and devices, by means of reading and analysis of all incoming input signals following dedicated pre-set algorithms. All necessary sensors and mechanisms are connected directly to it. The opportunity for communication between controllers and devices from Smart Ctrl-V1 series, virtually makes it possible to take the readings analysing and controlling of any type of systems and installations. Smart Ctrl-V1 series controller is based on processing solution allowing installation of basic software for running algorithms within a pre-set task. The option to update the system at any moment, allows optimization of the algorithms and addition of new functionalities. The access to the options of the controller is provided by a display of Smart D-V1 series and a computer using specialized software, and furthermore, over the Internet depending on the connection method selected (WI-FI or 3G) using remote server. Thanks to the convenient menus specially developed according to the set requirements, adjustment of all operating parameters Smart Ctrl-V1, can easily be customised to all requirements and systems. Electronic controller This is a multifunctional electronic micro-processor controller, which runs algorithm for control of pellet boiler / stove / burner. The particular application of the controller is determined by the type/version of the configuration file preprogrammed in the memory. The controller configuration is implemented by adjustment of the process parameters. The setting can be done using the user-friendly menu of the display or by means of specialized software, installed on the computer. The controller can be integrated in pellet boilers / stoves / burners, which have the following actuating mechanisms: Feeding auger Dosing auger Combustion air fan Flue gas fan Purge fan Lighter (heater) with heating capacity up to 1,5kW; Circulation pump, heating Circulation pump/three-way valve, domestic hot water *All outputs of the controller can be pre-configured in compliance with the particular technical solution of the manufacturer, via installation of dedicated firmware. 5100 Gorna Oryahovitsa, 4А Ivan Momchilov Street tel.:0879990 542 7/25

6. Installation instruction. 6.1. Connection to the pellet hopper: The pellets are stored in a hopper, where the auger pipe is inserted at an angle of approx. 45 degrees. In case the pipe was installed under greater angle, there is a possibility that the auger will be blocked as a result from the hindered movement of pellets. If this happens, resuming work must be done after all blocking pellets have manually been removed from the pipe. The auger takes pellets from the hopper, doses them and feeds them into the firebox. The liquid circulating in the heating system is heated as a result from the burning done in the firebox. The combustion gases are taken into the atmosphere via the chimney. The operation of the pellet burner is controlled by the multifunctional electronic controller. 6.2. Connection to the boiler: The burner is designed to work with a heating appliance, in the firebox of which negative pressure /chimney draught/ of at least 20 Ра must be maintained. The boiler is to be installed in such a way as to provide sufficient space for cleaning, elimination of soot and ash from the burner, the firebox and the flue gas pipes. The burner is installed in the opening of the firebox door and includes the respective gasket. It is fitted with bolts and nuts. The connection between the burner and the boiler must be well sealed to prevent any combustion gas leakage into the room. During installation the burner must be in horizontal position. The pellet feeding hose must be straightened and all connections must be tight. 6.3. Connection to the electrical mains: Once the burner is fitted to the boiler, the technician must connect it to the control device and then, connect it to the electrical mains. This connection must be performed by licensed electrician, paying special attention to the protective earthing of the device. Power (230V). Caution! High voltage! POWER Mains power supply 220V ±10%. Take all necessary measures to keep the position of the live wire (L); If the power supply cable of the burner is damaged, it can only be replaced by a qualified person. 6.4. Connection of external devices to the controller: Connection of external devices is to be done using screw block terminals. The maximum cross-section of the conductor is 2.5mm 2. For clarity during connection and for prevention of wrongful connection, all inputs are on the left side of the controller, and all outputs on the right one. The specialized external devices display, personal computer, sensor for speed of rotation are to be connected to individual terminals, which will prevent wrongful connection. 6.4. Connection of the pellet feeding auger: Position the auger conveyor so that loading it with pellets from the hopper will be unobstructed. The auger conveyor is supplied with power using plug connector. Its initial filling is performed automatically, along with starting-up of the burner. The working condition of the auger power supply cable is connected through its plug to the dedicated socket in the body of the burner, and it is being controlled following a pre-defined algorithm. 6.4. Connection of room thermostat: If a room thermostatic controller is connected to the burner, it must be verified whether its pre-set temperature is not less than the one of the room it was installed. Where room thermostat is missing install a bridging connection! 7. Operator display. The operator display is used for visualization and adjustment of the parameters of the pellet controller. It has four control buttons. The Enter (Start/Stop) button has double functionality: - Prolonged pressing and holding - pressing and holding for more than 3sec. starts up or stops the stove. - Single pressing confirms the selected function or value when working with the menu. When pressing the BACK button in the main screen, it loads the menu of the controller, and when working within the menu structure, it takes you one level up without confirmation. The buttons move the cursor along the icons of the menu and set values of the parameters. Main screen: system. Using buttons at the Main screen level you can change the pre-set temperature of the water in the heating 8. Operation modes: The user s provided with option for selection between four operation modes: - Heating; - Heating along with production of domestic hot water - Heating and priority production of domestic hot water - Summer mode production of domestic hot water * The option Solar controller (differential thermostat) /optional/ can be activated for each of the modes. The controller controls the stove/the boiler in compliance with the operation mode selected by the user and the need of heat supply. It provides automatic control of the heating capacity. 10. Emergency situations The controller of PPB20/30/50 burner runs a priority parallel process of following the emergency situations occurred. The emergency situations are indicated by an acoustic signal and message displayed at the control panel. In the middle of the screen the icon! E remains active, to inform about the current emergency situation. To see the latest alarms or to clear the alarm messages, use the respective menu. In case of an emergency shut down the burner, eliminate the reason for the emergency situation and re-start the burner in accordance with the procedures. The alarms that can be displayed by the control panel, the possible reasons for their occurrence and the possible variants for their elimination are described below: EMERGENCY SITUATIONS ALARM MESSAGES MESSAGES EMERGENCY SITUATION POSSIBLE REASONS CORRECTIVE ACTIONS 5100 Gorna Oryahovitsa, 4А Ivan Momchilov Street tel.:0879990 542 21/25

Interrupted power supply Interruption of the power supply. The burner continues working in modulation mode, and only the message is displayed Interruption of the power supply The burner passed through cleaning mode and it is in Standby mode Extinguished fire The photosensor reads parameters above the pre-set threshold during operation. The burner goes into <Stopping> mode Unsuccessful ignition Water temperature sensor fault DHW temperature sensor fault Fan fault It occurs upon expiry of the time for ignition and the respective number of repeated attempts It occurs when the water temperature sensor is faulty. The burner goes into <Stopping> mode It occurs when the DHW temperature sensor is faulty. The burner goes into <Stopping> mode It occurs in case of faulty fan or when the fan stops. The burner goes into <Stopping> mode Short-time interruption of the power supply, but the photosensor reads presence of fire No power supply during operation No power supply during operation.
