INTERREG MEDITERRANEAN Back to INTERREG B Go to Next programme The main objective of Interreg MED is to promote sustainable growth in the Mediterranean area by fostering innovative concepts and practices and a reasonable use of resources and by supporting social integration through an integrated and territorially based cooperation approach. Partner States from 13 countries are working together in the transnational European Cooperation Programme for the Mediterranean area, The Interreg MED Programme 2014-2020. The transnational setup allows them to tackle challenges beyond national borders, such as the rise of low carbon economy, the protection of natural and cultural resources and the strengthening of innovation. The 3rd call for project proposals is open from 30th October 2018 to 31st January 2019. This call is targeted to the Programme priority axes 1 (only sub-objective Blue Growth ) and 3, and only to the following type of projects: Multi-module M2 Testing + M3 Capitalising Applications will have to be submitted online via the Programme monitoring system, SYNERGIE CTE. The eligible regions are all the Spanish Autonomous Communities (except Canary Islands), the Southwestern regions of France (Auvergne, Nouvelle Aquitaine, Occitanie), all continental regions of Portugal, United Kingdom (Gibraltar) and the Principality of Andorra. The projects approved focus on one of the Programme's five priority axis, identified as the areas on which transnational cooperation has strongest impact in the context of Southwester Europe: Research and innovation, Competitiveness of SMEs, Low-carbon economy, Combating climate change, Environment and resource efficiency. During the period of 2014-2020, the Programme expects to launch four calls for proposals. However, the final number of calls will depend on the kind of projects approved and the available budget The 3rd Call for proposals is ongoing. It happens in 2 Stages: the 1 st stage (already closed on 21 September) and the 2 nd stage in March/May 2019 A 4th Call is expected to be published at the 1st semester of 2019 but only open to priority 1 (Research and innovation) and priority 5 (Environment and resource efficiency)
