We always advise considering having a key safe fitted when you have a lifeline installed so that in case of an emergency easy access can be gained Sometimes it s just a friendly voice and conversation that means so much. it meant so much to mum to have her call every morning to remind her about her medications and doctors appointments. She got to know the team at the monitoring centre and they were so nice to her POLICE APPROVED KEY SAFE WELLBEING CALLS 6 Will enable emergency services or your contacts to quickly access your home when you need help, without the need to force entry. This small box is securely fixed to the outside of your property. It will hold the keys to your home and can only be opened with a code that is kept securely at our Monitoring Centre. The code will only be disclosed to the emergency services if they need to gain urgent access to your property. For additional support and reassurance, we can call you at a pre-arranged time of day and at a frequency of your choosing to make sure you are safe and well. VIBBY WRIST WORN FALLS DETECTOR The Care Assist is a pager type device that can receive alerts from sensors that have been activated. Perfect for onsite carers or family who live with a service user. Care Assist allows a quick response from those nearby. If you are not on-site for whatever reason, our Centre can take over the monitoring. Worn like a watch, this detector senses the impact of falls and automatically alerts our Monitoring Centre when you may be injured or unconscious. 8 www.worcstelecare.org 9
KEEPING YOU SAFE 24/7 Smoke Detector - will alert both you and our Monitoring Centre to smoke in your property, meaning the Fire and Rescue Service can be contacted immediately. Heat Detector - specifically designed to be located in smoky areas, such as kitchens or rooms with wood burning fires. This detector will alert us if a fire has taken hold. Carbon Monoxide Detector - will alert us to dangerous levels of carbon monoxide in a property when fuels such as gas, oil, coal and wood don t burn fully. Natural Gas Detector - will alert both you and our Centre to dangerous levels, preventing explosions which can be life threatening to both you and your neighbours. Flood Detector - gives an early warning of overflowing water, for example perhaps from when a tap is left running. Bed Occupancy Sensor - for those who frequently get up during the night and are prone to falls. The sensor will automatically alert us when you have not returned to bed after a pre-set period of time. Chair Occupancy Sensor - for those who may sit in a chair through the night and forget to go to bed, the sensor will alert us to these situations. DDA PAGER PACKAGE For those who are hard of hearing, the DDA pager and a variety of devices will flash or vibrate when doorbells, smoke alarms and telephones need to be responded to. A whole host of devices can be controlled by Environmental Control systems; from everyday items such as Televisions and Telephones to the more sophisticated offerings such as curtains, windows and door entry systems. 50% of domestic fires starting in the kitchen, Airis can play a vital role in significantly reducing the risk of fire and the dangers presented by toxic smoke and gases Residents can cook safely for themselves and maintain their independence. CANARY CARE Calendar clock Diary News headlines Instant messages Video calling 20 The complete package to offer reassurance to families, reducing the need for constant phone calls or visits to check up on loved ones. This is perfect for people who are frail, isolated or live far away from family. Canary works by monitoring movement, temperature and light levels. An alert is sent if anything unusual is detected, such as the service user not having been into the kitchen by 10am for example. Visitor cards can be given to regular visitors, such as carers and friends, providing a record of when they visited and the time they spent, without affecting the monitoring of the service user.
