Keeping Employees Safe www.inovonicswireless.com

Employee Safety In recent years a number of new and unexpected hazards have surfaced in the workplace, including an increase in violent crimes. According to the U.S. Department of Justice's National Crime Victimization Survey, roughly one million people are victims of violent crime at work on an annual basis. As a result of workplace hostility, the U.S. Department of Labor joined forces with OSHA and developed "Recommendations for Workplace Violence Prevention Programs", which recommends the use of silent and personal alarms, the establishment of emergency communications, and the implementation of rules to protect employees from risk of assault. Why Wireless? Choosing the right system to create a secure environment for your organization can be difficult. With the various options available, how do you know which method will provide the right level of protection? To help with this decision, we have provided the following information that explains the wireless security options available to you. Inovonics Wireless 900 MHz products provide maximum adaptability without compromising dependability. Like conventional hardwired security systems, wireless components help provide the level of security needed to protect your workspace. They can also secure your staff in locations where hardwired formats cannot. Whether they are in the office, back in the warehouse, or walking to their car, wireless can help safeguard them. Inovonics Wireless has fulfilled employer security needs for over 17 years. With over two million wireless devices installed worldwide, our advanced products are proven. Inovonics Wireless offers the reliability and flexibility you need to help guard your company's most valuable assets in a multitude of situations. Safeguard your staff wherever they are. Protect employees with Inovonics Wireless. For added safety, employees can wear personal pendants throughout the workday. In critical situations, there isn't time to punch in numbers on a traditional security keypad or wait for someone to answer the phone when calling for assistance. With our pendants, whatever the 2

circumstances, help can be summoned with the touch of a button. Once the signal is sent, the control panel is immediately notified and the proper people are alerted. On multiple-button pendants, each button can be programmed to represent a specific message. When help is requested, the authorities will know the severity of the call before arriving at the scene, helping to ensure the correct response. wires through walls, under carpets, or behind baseboards to every door, window, and detection device, these systems are usually installed in hours rather than days or weeks like hardwire. Wireless is faster and easier to install than hardwire. Choose from a full line of personal pendants including waterresistant models. With proper design and maintenance, our products can deliver a clear signal anywhere on the premises and/or to external support with the press of a button. And because the Inovonics Wireless platform is so simple to operate, an employee can activate surveillance cameras or signal for help, even in the most panicked situations. All Wireless is not the Same 1. Virtually all other wireless systems are 300 MHz, a 25-year-old platform. Inovonics Wireless is based on advanced 900 MHz Frequency Agile technology, a more powerful radio link. 2. Most other wireless sends information on one narrow-band channel. Any in-band interference can result in missed signals. Inovonics Wireless sends completely redundant messages on a multitude of different frequencies across a 10 MHz band to maximize range and reliability. An employee can signal for help even in the most panicked situations. 3. Many wireless products have a limited field history. High performance wireless is Inovonics Wireless' only focus. We were the first in the security industry to develop 900 MHz products and utilize frequency hopping, spread spectrum technology. In addition to pendants, other types of wireless security components should be considered to complement a well-rounded response program. Intrusion detectors, glassbreak sensors, and door/window sensors help prevent theft, protect and secure areas, and safeguard your employees. Because there is no need to run 300 MHz Inovonics Wireless 900 MHz Frequency Agile 3

Our Technology, Range, and Performance Because the safety of your employees and customers depends upon your security program functioning properly every minute, you need the demonstrated reliability of 900 MHz Frequency Agile. Inovonics Wireless is the only wireless security equipment based on this advanced, more robust radio link. Because FCC regulations permit higher transmit power for 900 MHz spread spectrum systems, Inovonics Wireless offers superior in-building range when compared to other wireless products. Our pendants and belt clip transmitters can provide as much as 10 times the open-field range of 300 MHz pendants. That's why you'll find our devices at work in such a wide range of applications varying from employee safety to securing valuables in museums and banks. For even greater effectiveness, our wireless systems can be set up with multiple annunciation locations to help provide a faster response. For example, one annunciation location may be the local law enforcement agency, with the other being the on site security office. Because every installation is different, each will have the flexibility to choose individual annunciation locations and preferences. Automatic Supervision Even the most elaborate security devices cannot protect your employees if the batteries fail. Most wireless systems run a self-test once every 24 hours, meaning a transmitter could be malfunctioning, but the system won't find the problem until the next day, leaving your employees vulnerable. Our equipment can send check-in signals as often as every 10 seconds. Inovonics Wireless transmitters automatically supervise the RF signal and the battery*. With proper use and maintenance, Inovonics Wireless security products deliver a clear signal whenever trouble may occur, and notification is immediate. *The FA113 transmitter is an arming device and is not supervised. Superior Range Because the FCC allows higher transmit power for 900 MHz spread spectrum systems, Inovonics Wireless offers superior in-building range and up to 10 times the open-field range of some narrow-band 300 MHz security products. NOTES AND TESTING CONDITIONS 1) The range of any wireless system is very dependent on the building structure and environment in which the equipment is operating. Additional factors that will impact performance include, but are not limited to, the presence of interference, product orientation, method of holding and activating the product, and obstructions between the transmitter and receiver. 2) Open-field range tests are useful for equipment comparisons, however, the range differences may not scale in the same proportions for in-building applications. 3) Please contact Inovonics Wireless and request the Range Test Tech Note for a complete description of the testing methodology and results. 4

Repeaters: Essential for Wireless Systems Repeaters are sophisticated devices that listen for messages from pendants, sensors, and other transmitters and then re-broadcast the messages at a higher power to the system receiver. They form a micro-cellular network that can enhance alarm signal strength. Repeaters can be installed inside a building or outside, provided they are mounted inside in a weatherproof housing. A back-up battery is typically provided with the repeater so the wireless system can still function even if the power is lost. Inovonics Wireless - Wireless Experts Since 1986, we have been producing innovative, high quality wireless security products. With over two million radio frequency devices installed worldwide, you can be assured that you are receiving reputable products built upon a highly developed technology. Since 1986, Inovonics Wireless has focused on wireless. Repeaters are vital for extending coverage for any wireless system with remote locations and large buildings. Inovonics Wireless RF products can enhance a current security program or help you create a new system to help provide the greatest defense for your employees. If there are budget limitations, an on-site communication approach with Inovonics Wireless is the most logical and practical place to begin. For coverage of large buildings or detached structures, repeaters are an indispensable element of any wireless scheme. In fact, many security professionals recommend against wireless in large facilities unless a proven repeater network is available. Call your security provider today for a free site survey of your business or to test our products against other wireless technologies. Inovonics Wireless pioneered the use of 900 MHz repeaters and has tens of thousands of them installed throughout the world. Talk to your security dealer about extending your wireless system's range with repeaters. Inovonics Wireless offers transmitters, sensors, receivers, and repeaters for extended range. 5

Product Specs Inovonics Wireless 900 MHz, Frequency Agile technology uses frequency hopping, spread spectrum radio communication. FCC approvals and labels are included on every transmitter and receiver. Battery life will vary from sensor to sensor and depends on installation programming and the environment in which the transmitter operates. Authorized dealers will provide details. The range and performance of any wireless product depends on the structure and environment in which it operates. Additional factors include the presence of inference, product orientation, and condition of the product. Test regularly. Professional security technicians are required for installation and maintenance on Inovonics Wireless products or systems.
