ADPRO PRO Passive Infrared Detector Webinar November 2015 Ben Klösen, PLM
What is the principle of Infra-Red detection? Humans and most other live forms radiate infra-red waves in band lengths from 7 to 14 microns so pyro-elements in PIR detectors are set to detect these bands. PIRs detect sudden changes in Far Infrared radiation levels and produce corresponding electrical signal. In principle, PIR detectors sense the temperature differences between the background and moving object in a predetermined detection areas
Curtain-Shaped Coverage 4 m (13 ft) Each curtain has this field of view: 1-8 m (4-25 ft) Continuous curtain no gaps! 2 m (9 ft) Nominal range Detectors feature one or more zones that are sensitive to objects moving into or through them
PRO E Features Best performance in alarm and nuisance alarms in the industry, proven in countless applications and specific tests by independent experts. NEW: Anti Masking alarm NEW: 360PROtect : Covers the area between -1 to +8m to eliminate creep zones NEW: Advanced 3D-tamper detection signals an alarm if detector alignment is altered, in addition to traditional cover switch New: Digital Compass also detects very slow horizontal misalignment which an acceleration sensor would not pick up NEW: Wall and pole removal detection NEW: included cable managed bracket for pole and wall mounting NEW: icommision tool allows *remote* vertical alignment NEW: up to 5 freely configurable alarm outputs (3: Standard, 5 H-Version) Modular design allows to replace silicon wafer / plastic filter in the field replace or retro-fit heater module in the field Wireless versions with sophisticated solar and battery power management and Inovonics wireless integration
Vandal and Manipulation Detection New Feature: Anti Masking Active IR proximity sensor protects ca. 50cm in front and below detector Any obstruction in that area will be detected If completely covered, immediate (!) specific alarm (competition takes around 2 minutes)
Vandal and Manipulation Detection New Feature: Advanced 3D Tamper Altering the alignment which is stored during setup, horizontal, vertical or pitch, triggers a tamper alarm. Digital compass detects even very slow (!) horizontal alignment changes
Vandal and Manipulation Detection New Feature: Proximity sensor in main housing Active IR proximity sensor in main housing Will even trigger when parts of lid are removed (e.g. by sawing), which would not affect a standard cover switch Only way to detect flooding or foaming of the housing
Creepzone coverage and beyond New Feature: 360PROtect An additional dual PIR sensor in the top-front covers the area between up to 1m behind the detector and up to 8m in front of it, eliminating all creep zones (other than 51/85) Covers all the way up to any wall and even *behind* the pole the detector is mounted to An additional 360PROtect output signal allows localization Concept allows stand-alone application of curtain detector

PRO E-100H vs. PRO E-400H
Application Example Solar Field High value due to copper cabled and photovoltaic modules Remote location, long ways, difficult to reach Example: Solar field of 600 x 600 meters (36 ha)
At a distance of 600 meters four units are needed At a distance of 600 meters three units are needed Result: at a solar field of 600m x 600m up to four detectors can be saved using the super long range PIR. The bigger the area the less the number of needed detectors
Installation hints - deflection A small deflection will influence the detection range and the sensitivity enormous. The following chart gives an overview about the allowed pole deflection of various detection ranges. Especially for long range detectors with e.g. 200m the deflection must be as small as possible. The calculation depends on the installation height (pole length) and the wind speed (max. 150km/h) and will be calculated with [pole height] / [wind speed] = [allowed pole deflection]. An example would be 400cm / 150 km/h = 2.7
