IT S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN! SAFETY FIRST! It is very important to have your boiler serviced and inspected. Some properties have been built with appliance flue systems which cannot be inspected because they are hidden behind walls or ceilings. This makes it difficult to identify any safety concerns with the flue system and could be dangerous. Have you had your boiler serviced this year? If not, coming into the winter is the ideal time to book your boiler service or to consider upgrading to a new one. After all, it s important that it s running as well as it can when you want it the most. At Calor, we recommend that you have your LPG boiler, pipework and appliances inspected and serviced at least once a year, in order to keep them safe and running efficiently. This is especially important for any LPG installation which involves buried pipework. When you are getting your boiler serviced, your registered installer needs to be able to see the flue system as part of essential safety checks whenever the appliance is worked on. A flue system in poor condition, combined with an appliance that is not working properly, could put you and your family in danger from carbon monoxide poisoning, which can cause death or serious injury.
TIME TO UPGRADE YOUR BOILER? Upgrade your boiler with CALOR and save 300! At Calor, we recommend that you have your LPG boiler, pipework and appliances inspected and serviced at least once a year in order to keep them safe and running efficiently. This is especially important for any LPG installation which involves buried pipework. Upgrading to a higher efficiency boiler not only saves you carbon emissions, we ll give you 300 credit on your Calor account! To apply, contact us on 1850 812 450. If your boiler is over 10 years old it may be coming to the end of its efficient life. If so, having a new, high efficiency boiler installed is your best way to continue enjoying the great value that comes with using Calor.
GAS SAFETY Carbon Monoxide is a highly poisonous gas. It can be released by appliances as part of the combustion of all carbon fuels (oil, gas, solid fuel and wood) if they are not properly installed or maintained. Anything that burns with a flame can potentially emit carbon monoxide. Here are some important points to remember about Carbon Monoxide: REMEMBER THE CAUSES Carbon Monoxide can be produced when ANY fuel is burnt, including oil, gas, wood and coal, if the appliance is not properly installed or maintained. REMEMBER TO SERVICE To prevent Carbon Monoxide, ensure your appliances are installed and serviced annually by a Registered Gas Installer, a Registered Oil Technician, or a qualified service agent for your fuel type. Also make sure vents, flues and chimneys are kept clear. REMEMBER THE ALARM Carbon Monoxide is odourless and colourless so for added protection install an audible carbon monoxide alarm. Make sure the alarm complies with EN 50291, carries a CE mark, has an end of life indicator and carries an independent certification mark. MORE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON www.carbonmonoxide.ie
