Lead times from manufactures are approximately 3-4 weeks. Closed December 24-25th New Year's Closed January 1st From the Wood Pile: New Products: Roofing: The roofing market is steady. Price increases have been announced for Tamko, OC, CertainTeed, Altas, and Malarkey of 10-14% effective February 4, 2013. See below for Tamko product changes. Rebar: The rebar market is firm and we expect prices to remain about the same for the remainder of the year. Import bar is hitting the market so the December price increase only moved up a small amount. Lumber: The lumber market is steady and has been described as a huge food processor as of late. Some people are stocking up on inventory, some are reducing inventory, some dimensional lumber mills and OSB mills are decreasing production, while some are maintaining, and others are increasing. It is a fact that buyers are more aggressive than those who sell and once we get past the holiday and this "Lumber Smoothie" is all processed together there will be a steady advance in to the second quarter of next year. The uncertainty now really sets up volatility in the supply and demand balance going into 2013. There are some widths and some lengths that are not readily available. Plywood: The plywood market seems to be leveling off for now, though prices are up based off of last year at this time. Plyform and sanded plywood remain firm to up. With the holidays just around the corner, production downtime is looming. Other Vendors: -The insulation market is steady with price increases announced for December 17 for OC and John Mansfield for 10-17%, and January 7 for CertainTeed 8-19%. - Flame Fighter, E-Z Tape's patented fire tape, works for both wood and steel construction. Using an easy mudless application, Flame Fighter can be applied directly to clean drywall. You can apply the fire tape in temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit. E-Z Tape has passed full scale tests for one-hour and twohour fire ratings. E-Z Flame Fighter Fire Tape is used on vertical or horizontal joints of interior, nonload-bearing, one-hour fire resistance-rated steel and wood framed assemblies. It is also rated for two hour fire rate vertically hung wall systems. It is not rated for ceilings. No top coating is required. One hour or two hour rating for walls. Can be used with wood or steel construction.
Page 3 of 6 -Kwikset will have a 6% price increase effective January 1, 2013 on all their clear pack lock sets. -Dow Chemical will implement a 7% increase on Great Stuff spray foam December 10, 2012. -PVC pipe prices have remained steady since September and no price increases have been announced. It is speculated that PVC prices will increase the first quarter of 2013. -Franklin/Titebond Glue will take a price increase January 1. -Dixon Ticonderoga (carpenter pencils and crayons) will take a 3-13% price increase January 1. -Poly America (Polyfilm/Visqueen) will increase on most products 3-4% January 1. -Sashco Products (caulking) will take a 3% price increase January 1. -ODL will take a 2.5% increase January 1 on all door lite glass products. -Wilsonart Laminate pricing will be increased effective with orders place on or after January 21, 2013. -The moulding market is firm and all suppliers have increased prices. Southwest Moulding will have an aver price increase of 1.9% effective January 7, 2013. Lumber Yard News: What is happening around M& M Lumber? -We are now stocking 2x6 Yellow Pine Tongue and Groove in both 12' and 16'. This 2x6 T&G is mostly used for flooring. Like last year, the bags that we will have in

They are in stock now! -Tamko will be changing their 3-tab shingles width from 12" to 12.5" for their Hip and Ridge, Glass SD, and their Elite Glass SD shingles. It is recommended that you do not mix bundles. Shingle bundles will have 26 shingles and 3 bundles will still equal a square. To know the difference, the wrapper color will change for these three items. -Another change with Tamko is that their CoolRidge ventilation will now include nails. Bags of nails will be included in the packaging of the plastic wrapped bundles and the Bulk CoolRidge will have a bag of nails attached to each piece. QR Scanner -Louisiana-Pacific has agreed to pay $75 million to acquire Canfor Corp's 50% stake in an OSB lumber plant in British Columbia, Canada. By completing the sale, LP will be the sole owner of the plant. -Congratulations Scott for being recognizes at the Tulsa Home Builders Association for being the Associate of the Month for October 2012!
