Industrial Parts Cleaner with Manual or Auto Lid and Electric or Air Pump Operator's Manual A. General Information Read and understand all labels, MSDS, and this instruction manual before use. The Industrial Parts Cleaner is an economical, safe, and innovative system designed to clean parts, using mineral spirits based solvents with a flash point greater than 38 C. (100 F.). Install your parts cleaner on a flat level surface in a well ventilated area. The operator is responsible for determining and maintaining adequate ventilation. This equipment is designed for use with mineral spirits based solvents with a flash point greater than 38 C. (100 F.). Do not add any other chemicals including, but not limited to, kerosene, fuel oil, gasoline, chlorinated solvents, and carbon removing compounds or detergents. The use of unapproved solvents could cause a potentially hazardous condition. (ELECTRIC ONLY) Make sure the parts cleaner is connected to a properly grounded 115 volt, 60 HZ. electrical power source. Under certain conditions the solvent could burn. For your protection, a fusible link system automatically closes the cover of the parts cleaner in the event that a fire occurs in the sink work area. The closed cover contains the fire inside the metal tank. Do not leave large objects in the parts cleaner while in the raised position or hang anything on the cover that could prevent it from closing completely. Do not replace the fusible link with any other device to hold the cover up. To minimize the risk of personal injury, it is important that you read, understand, and follow the instructions provided in this manual. B. Fire Prevention In case of a fire: Use a Type ABC or Type BC fire extinguisher. Do not use water. Contact your local fire department. To reduce the risk of fire when cleaning carburetors or other fuel supplying components, remove all gasoline into a proper disposal container before placing the component into the parts cleaner. Do not spray aerosols into or around this machine. Install the equipment in an area away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Never put hot parts into the solvent.

Do not prevent the cover from closing. It is designed to close automatically in the event of a fire. The safety link and cover closing mechanism must be intact. Do not substitute with any other type of cover positioning device. Do not leave large objects in the parts cleaner while the lift is in the raised position, or hang anything on the cover that could prevent the cover from closing in the event of a fire. Do not modify the equipment in any way. Do not leave solvent-soaked rags in the parts cleaner, wadded up on workbenches, or in uncovered containers. Soak up all solvent spills with absorbent material. Dispose of all solvent-soaked material in accordance with regulatory requirements. C. Environmental Precautions 1. Avoid spilling solvent. If solvent is spilled, clean it up immediately. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet for instructions on clean up and disposal. 2. Contain leaks promptly. Notify local environmental authorities if necessary. 3. Proper housekeeping in the area of the parts cleaner is the responsibility of the user. 4. Check with your local jurisdiction for any other applicable materials compliance requirements. 5. Do not remove devices designed to reduce evaporation except to process work or to perform maintenance. 6. For further information consult the Material Safety Data Sheet.

D. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. 1. Inspect the unit closely for damage. If damage is apparent report it immediately to the delivering carrier. 2. The unit must be installed on a flat level surface in a well ventilated area. 3. Remove all components from the inside of the parts washer. 4. Mount the upper cylinder housing on the machine using the four (4) 10-32 x ½ unslotted, washers, hex head, machine screws supplied with the housing. CAUTION: Start the screws using your fingers so you do not strip out the riv-nut. 5. (AUTO COVER ONLY) Connect the door rod assembly to the upper cylinder housing. (see diagram 1) (a) Slide the end of the shaft into the slot. (b) Rotate the lift arm 90 to the left and push the arm through the slot until the upper pin is inside the housing. (c) Rotate the arm back and let hang down. DIAGRAM 1 6. (AUTO COVER ONLY) Attach the other end of the rod to the cover, using the bolt provided. (see diagram 2) DIAGRAM 2 7. Connect a ¼ MPT air line capable of delivering a minimum of 8CFM @120PSIG to the regulator on the back of the control box. The regulator is nonadjustable, preset at 120psi. 8. (ELECTRIC ONLY) Plug the power cord into a properly grounded 115V/60HZ outlet. A ground fault circuit interrupter protected outlet is preferred. 9. Fill the reservoir to the correct level (80US gallons) with a mineral spirits based solvents with a flash point greater than 38 C. (100 F.), as indicated by the "fill level" plate on the inside of the parts washer.
