Page 2 of 7 Sincerely, M&M Lumber 918-627-1926 Market Report: Market Update: Gypsum: The drywall market is mostly unchanged. Roofing: Lead times have been extended by most manufactures. Price increases have been announced for Tamko effective May 25, Owens corning for June 1, CertainTeed for June 1, and Atlas for June 1. All manufactures are expected to increase 6-8%. Rebar: As the price for scrap steel remained unchanged for April, domestic rebar manufacturers announced no price changes for their May rollings. Industry analysts are projecting that scrap steel prices will increase in May, as demand is expected to rise over the next few weeks. If the price for scrap steel does increase in May, expect rebar mills to increase prices for June shipments. Charles Sheets Retires Charles has spent the last 30 years with M&M Lumber and many more in the lumber and hardware business. He is untying the tool belt on May 30th and officially retiring. Lumber: A fire at a Prince George, BC sawmill has made the price of some lumber and plywood take a jump the last two weeks. There are some estimates that this sawmill produced approximately 10% of the SPF lumber in Canada. Unfortunately, two workers were killed in the initial blast and fire. Plywood: We are currently in the second quarter when supply reaches its annual peak, and is also the strongest for demand. Though the fire in Canada should not affect the price of many panels, mills are using any excuse to raise prices. It is speculated that prices should drop after Memorial Day. A few other price increases to make sure you know about: Charles is retiring; he's put in his time, he leaves us now with other plans in mind. Just "R & R" and taking life slow, at home with his mom, or perhaps Mexico! Thank you Charles for everything you have done for M&M Lumber!! We wish you the best!! From the Wood Pile
