Installation Additonal Information Troubleshooting TWISTER is an Above Ground Pool Cleaner accessory made of corrosion and impact resistant materials. It is designed to operate only with suction side cleaners and has a gear box with a set of gears, sprockets, and shafts which is powered by the water suction from your pool pump. This suction enables the front face of TWISTER to rotate and counter rotate about 3 times an hour. This part faces the pool cleaner section of your pool hose assembly. The rear section of TWISTER is fixed and is plugged in toward the wall side of your pool hose assembly. TWISTER is not lined or sealed from water or air so complete submersion of the unit is necessary for proper operation. Every North American TWISTER package includes the following: Top Of Page If your hose is connected to a skimmer box Start by switching off your pool pump and check that your baskets and filter are clean. Also inspect your pool hoses, joints and the cleaner for leaks, cracks, or abrasions. If you do NOT have a leaf catcher installed on your hose line, cut the existing hose 2 ft (61cm) away from the skimmer box. Please note to take special precaution while using any sharp object, it is highly recommended for an adult to perform this step. Screw on end caps (included) on the cut sections of hoses in a counter clockwise direction. Submerge TWISTER in the pool and bleed the air out until no more air is present. Note the markings on TWISTER which signify UP, DOWN TO SKIMMER and THIS SIDE TO POOL CLEANER. Connect TWISTER between the cut sections of hose according to what the markings indicate. http://www.solarsunrings.com/twister/instructions_tws.html (3 of 10) [10/9/2012 3:26:50 PM]
While installing TWISTER onto the hose assembly, hold the unit from the gearbox while gripping the front face. This prevents the front face from turning or torquing during installation. Once TWISTER is installed onto the pool hose line, the cleaner may be sunk back onto the pool floor and the pool pump may be switched on. Your pool hose assembly should resemble the diagram below: http://www.solarsunrings.com/twister/instructions_tws.html (4 of 10) [10/9/2012 3:26:50 PM]

Twister is designed do be used only with suction side style cleaners Twister will not fix a pool cleaner's performance if the pool cleaner has defective or worn components, or if the hoses are kinked, cracked or otherwise need replacing. Also ensure that the pool cleaner and/or flow control device have been installed correctly. Twister is not a fully sealed unit and will suck in air if it floats above the pool water level. In addition to following the pool cleaner manufacturer's recommendations, it may be necessary to add an additional hose weight in front of Twister to keep it submerged. If you have a Hayward Navigator or Pool Vac Ultra, install Twister according to the above instructions. However, do not install the 30 Angled Adaptor that is supplied with Twister. This part will not be necessary for these self-steering types of pool cleaners. If you have a Baracuda X7 Quattro, install Twister according to the above instructions. Fit the 30 Angled Adaptor firmly over the two lugs on the Flex-Connector (P/N X77039). Cut the Twist-Lock end from the hose and insert small end of the 30 Angled Adaptor into the hose. If the cleaner still sticks in sharp corners of your pool remove the Flex-Connector and fit the 30 Angled Adaptor directly to the Outer Extension Pipe (P/N X77027). Top Of Page If your cleaner climbs too high and sucks air, add extra hose weights along your hose line, always refer to the instruction manual of your cleaner for the right weights/components for this. For Kreepy Krauly, use the Wall Climb Adjuster (P/N K12065) If debris gets stuck in Twister, you can easily dislodge them by removing the hose from the inlet end and washing it through with your garden hose. Like your suction cleaner, on occasions, some debris may get stuck. If the built in swivel on top of your cleaner does not rotate freely, it is highly recommended that the swivel be replaced for proper functionality of your cleaner and Twister. Other cleaners such as Hayward Navigator and Pool Vac Ultra do not have a swivel top, therefore their hose connection does not swivel freely, this is normal. If your pool cleaner still remains stuck and Twister was installed according to instructions, then add a hose weight halfway between Twister and your pool cleaner, if problem persists, then inspect the small gears/sprockets within Twister and make sure that the components, most notably the paddle wheel and the yellow drive sprocket beneath the front face of Twister. http://www.solarsunrings.com/twister/instructions_tws.html (9 of 10) [10/9/2012 3:26:50 PM]
