IMAGE IN INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT Please read these instructions carefully before installing your Image In plant container. We cannot be held liable for damage caused by faulty installation or by a failure to observe the instructions given in these notes.

RECOMMENDATIONS UPON RECEIPT Delivery of the product is at the buyer s own risk. You should therefore, upon receipt, unwrap and check the goods in the presence of the delivery man. All reservations concerning any faults identified must be stipulated on the shipping document. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION IImage In is a range of plant containers made to measure in fibre cement. Dimensions The containers are produced to the required measurements. Their thickness is 25 30mm in the top band. Material Fiber cement HD NT 10 et 15mm, complying with EN 12467 (category A, class 4) : - non-flammable A2-s1,d0 (M0) ; - rot proof ; - frost proof. Two-component high-performance epoxy assembly. Finishes Liquid paints: polyurethane two-component primer + paint + varnishes. This system (automotive application) creates a sealed surface film which limits dirt and makes cleaning easier. It offers a hardness greater than one-component systems, and is resistant to UV rays. All RAL shades; additional colours as an option. Topcoat: matt, satin, gloss or micronized. HANDLING The containers are delivered on pallets so that they can be transported to a point as close as possible to their final destination. They must be handled with great care whilst being installed. Just like an item of pottery, our plantcontainers are sensitive to impact. Therefore they should not be dragged along the ground, and they should be cushioned when moved. 2

ON-SITE INSTALLATION Fill the plant container once it is permanently in place. PLACING ON THE GROUND The containers should be installed on a perfectly flat and horizontal ground to avoid any imbalance and to spread their weight evenly. You should therefore make sure, before filling it with soil, that the entire circumference of the container is resting fully on the ground. If necessary, use a wedge to compensate for unevenness. Special cases: PLACING ON WATERPROOFING You should make sure that your waterproofing s acceptable load per m 2 is compatible with the overall weight of your potted plant (container + plant + damp soil). Restrictions on perforation should also be checked. A redistribution of weight may be necessary. For that purpose, we offer the option of PLACING ON AN EXPANDED POLYST YRENE BOARD concealed under the container. CONTAINERS EQUIPPED WITH CASTERS The ground should be flat and level. In fact, the casters are not equipped with brakes since, as they are concealed under the containers, they are not accessible.the load is concentrated on the casters. The ground should also be hard and perfectly smooth so as to avoid any bumping or unusual stresses during handling. CONTAINERS EQUIPPED WITH ADJUSTABLE FEET In this case, the container no longer rests on its perimeter but on 4 adjustable PVC feet. They allow a height adjustment (by screwing unscrewing) for balancing and for the alignment of containers arranged in rows. They also let water circulate freely underneath the container and allow access for systems (watering and lighting). Range of adjustment according to type of feet: 12mm, 15 mm, 55mm... 3

DRAINAGE SYSTEM The draining bases are perforated to allow excess water to drain away underneath the container. Place a geotextile pad at the bottom of the interior. It is possible to fit the latter up the sides to allow moisture to migrate effectively. To ensure efficient and constant drainage, build a drainage system into the bottom of the container (5 to 15 cm of clay pellets, for example). Place another layer of geotextile on top of the drainage system to separate it from the planting substrate and the roots. To make your pot lighter, or reduce the volume of soil if your plant does not require the full height of the container, place pieces of expanded polystyrene at the bottom. WATER RESERVOIR With the HORTICULTURAL SYSTEM option: No more need for a clay pellet drainage system. The horticultural polystyrene sheet ensures an efficient and constant drainage, combined with a 5L/m 2 reservoir. 4

5 Special case : OVERFLOW WEEP HOLE The installation of containers equipped with a weep hole follows the same principles as for the draining bases. Evacuation is done by the side overflow outlet (weep hole). INTERIOR USE In this case, the base of the containers is watertight. Installation is identical to that of the draining bases. To ensure efficient drainage, in that case build a thick drainage system. Be careful to monitor watering. There is no overflow in the containers with watertight bases, so it is important not to over-water: a plant s roots will choke and rot if they are swimming in water. The WATER LEVEL INDICATOR option makes it possible to monitor the water level.

PLANTING Fill the container with substrate leaving the required space. Put the plant (left to soak in water beforehand) in place, fill in with the substrate and water generously. The type of substrate depends on your plants. It might be a simple compost (+ fertiliser) or a mixture of compost + garden soil (+ fertiliser + if the substrate needs lightening: clay pellets, or pozzuolana, orvermiculite or bark fragments, etc.) or peat for plants needing an acid soil (hydrangea, rhododendron, camellia, azaleav magnolia, etc.). Ask your landscape gardener or your nursery for advice. The substrate should be tamped down by watering ; other inappropriate sorts of pressure may damage the container. For ball plantings : depending on their size, containers may be equipped with ribs for lateral support. You should make sure that the latter do not restrict the positioning of the ball or prevent its being supported by the base of the container. Risk of scratching : be careful to protect the painted sides of the container, especially those on view, which are particularly subject to abrasion caused by the substrate when planting. Protect the painted edges by covering them with stretch film. It is possible to add a surface mulch. A few cm of clay pellets or bark will reduce evaporation and restrict the growth of weeds. MAINTENANCE Root pressure from plants may, in the long term, put great stress on the containers. The regular provision of nutrients is necessary to prevent too rapid a root growth. You should always make sure that the size of the container remains compatible with its plants as they grow. When winter is over, replace the top 5 cm of earth with a rich soil. Every 4-5 years, take shrubs out of their pots, prune their roots and renew some of the compost. To clean the containers, use soft cloths (microfibre), water and soap. Rinse with clean water and dry with a dry cloth to avoid traces of calcium. As the containers are varnished, do not use solvents or abrasives. 6

WARNINGS Bamboo and other plants with too high a rate of root growth : The root growth of certain plants known as creepers, like some types of bamboo, is too vigorous to allow them to be grown in pots. Get advice from your landscape gardener or nursery so that you choose a variety suitable for growing in pots (non-creeping, with a low or moderate rate of root growth). Be especially careful that the size of the plant is suited to the size of the container. Railings : Our products are not designed for this specific purpose; They must be used in conjunction with a regulation railing. Our planters are decorative elements, not constitutive of buildings and therefore not subject to decennial insurance. GUARANTEES The legal guarantees of conformity (resulting from Art. L211-1 and those following it in the consumer code) concerning hidden defects (resulting from Art. 1641 and those following it in the Civil Code) apply to Image In plant containers. The guarantee does not, however, cover : - Damage caused by a failure to observe the limitations described in these instructions; - Any consequences resulting from use of the product for other purposes than those for which it is intended; - Damage caused by frost (freezing) ; - Products being subjected to modifications (piercing, for example); - Deterioration due to impacts, scratches or being dropped during storage, transport, handling, installation, maintenance, etc. - Damage caused by plants not suited to the size of the pot; - Damage caused by plants not suitable for growing in pots. (High root growth rate, Creepers, etc.) As manufacturers, our liability does not extend to our suppliers where manufacture of products or components is sub-contracted. The sizes, colours and weights of certain materials are subject to natural variations or those inherent in their manufacture and these minor variations are therefore considered acceptable. 7
