Fundraising BBQ at Bunnings on 27 th May thank you to Mary and everyone else who helped on the day. Hospitality night for MD Convention delegates on 4 th of May a huge thank you to Cheryl Meehan, Mary Brownlie and Chris Smelt in organising this event. Some members have attended the MD Convention held in May Children of Courage held at the Pan Pacific Hotel our Club sponsored one child for this very successful event. Chris Smelt was the coordinator of this project well done Chris Our Club donated $500 to the Margaret River Bushfire Appeal Chris Smelt continues her work with the Hearing Institute and the Hearing Screening Bus. She has travelled to Kalgoorlie and Geraldton with the Hearing Bus recently a great effort. Ann Mallin was elected as our delegate for the Lions Eye Institute SWL Program Mary Brownlie assisted with the SWL Program at Lockridge Senior High School. This involved assisting students with preparing for job

interviews etc. Our thanks to Mary in assisting with this program Uniting Church Homes our Club has donated $640 to the Uniting Church Home to assist in the upgrade of the Library at the North Beach Retirement Village. A Television set and bracket was purchased with our donation. HOSPITALITY EVENING On the 4 th of May at the VIP Centre our Club hosted 10 delegates from the MD Convention. It was a very successful night with delegates from Bundaberg, Grovedale/Waven Ponds, Port Pirie, Hinkler, Canberra and Brisbane. It was an enjoyable night. Much was learnt from the delegates and feedback from our guests was extremely positive. Well done to our organising Committee Cheryl Meehan, Mary Bronwlie and Chris Smelt who organised the catering, entertainment and transport our thanks to them for their incredible effort. NEWSPAPERS Please continue to collect newspapers and drop off at 82 Arnott Street, Trigg (Ann s place). Thank you to Ann Mallin for all of her efforts and organising the latest newspaper delivery. We are very thankful for David Baird s assistance once again and to all the members who help out. FUNDRAISING BBQS We have booked three more fundraising BBQs at Bunnings Whitfords on the following dates 15 th and 22 nd July and 25 th November. Members please put these dates in your diaries. We will also be helping out the VIP Centre with two fundraising BBQs in the coming year.

MINTS AND FUDGE SALES Well done to Craig and members who have sold mints and fudge. Please keep up the good work. Members to establish additional mint outlets if at all possible. CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to Lion Chris Smelt in receiving a DG Star Award at the recent Awards night. It was awarded to her for her efforts in coordinating Children of Courage and her work with the Hearing Institute and Hearing Screening Bus. Well done Chris.
