TEKPAN AUTOMATIC FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM New age patented design Automatic Fire Extinguishing System is the product of an environmental friendly technology. Halon was being used as the most effective method for fire fighting, but in 1987 with the Montreal Protocol it was disclosed as being a very potent destroyer of the OZONE LAYER. As a result, developed countries have already managed to prohibit production of halon. Whereas AFEM is developed to detect and extinguish fire locally in faster way with environmentally safe technology. The AFEM module can be easily installed without any need of piping or power supply to any place that present a potential risk of fire such as electrical cabinets, generators, rooms, machines etc. With a special chemical formula that not affect electrical and electronic devices and doesn t require any maintenance. AFEM can be used in all types of electrical cabinets like switchgear, telecom, mcc, automation panels. Plus, can be attached to transformers, generators and panel controlrooms. It can be installed in IT server cabinets and network rooms. Also due to its design AFEM is suitable to be installed in motor rooms of ships and boats in marine applications. 1

3 TIMES MORE EFFECTIVE OPERATING PRINCIPLE 1. Step: Fire propagates by chain reaction via O, H and OH molecules. 2. Step: AFEM releases (K) potassium radicals into the flame chain reaction. 3. Step: K radicals attach itself to O, H, OH and remove them from the flame chain reaction. ADVANTAGES No need of power supply. PATENTED DESIGN Ability to detect fire at minimum time. Ability to extinguish fire at minimum time before it spreads out. Sends signal to central alarm system and other warning systems. During the extinguish process it doesn t damage electrical and electronic equipment which will operate normally after fire is put out. No need for any maintenance or service. Ability to be installed in all kinds of cabinets and enclosures easily. Environmentally friendly. Harmless to humans 3

COMPARISON OF THE DIFFERENT EXTINGUISHING AGENTS AGENT EFFECT ON PEOPLE EFFECT ON GOODS EFFECT ON THE ENVIRONMENT AFEM Chemical concentration is not harmful to people. Does not cause any defect to goods. Totally environmental - friendly. HALON Accepted that halon is not harmful to people, but it is banned for use since 1994. Does not cause any defect on goods. Banned to use because of bad effect on environment. CO 2 It can be dangerous for people when used in closed space. The cooling effect can cause damage to electronic equipment In general, more CO 2 is produced than other sources WATER In electrical systems water can cause shock to people. Cause considerable damage to electronic equipment and installations. Dangerous gases can be produced which are harmful to the environment. FOAM AND WATER If used in a closed system, it is necessary to protect people. Cause considerable damage to electronic equipment and installations. Also corrosion potential. It may be difficult to remove the foam, can be very dangerous for water plants and aquatic animals. INERT GAS It can lead to insufficient oxygen being supplied to the brain. Does not cause any damage to goods. Not harmful to the environment. If cables run through an electric magnetic fields of high density, such as high voltage transformers in power substations or cable tunnels, the cable should be enclosed in a steel conduit. If there is a mechanical potential of any damage, the cable should be enclosed into a plastic or metal conduit. 13

IT AFEM MARINE APPLICATIONS AFEM Modules are suitable for Marine usage. The cables inside the module are suitable for marine applications. Also, the metal parts and screws of module are stainless products. AFEM operates without power supply, it s not harmful for human health, environmentally friendly and does not cause any damage to motors, because of these reasons it is easy and useful for mercantile marines, recreational boats and yachts.
