goes towards meeting pent-up demand, home affordability and housing for key workers. Preparing local or district housing strateg open_comment_housing_targets importance_rate_housing_strategies It is important for the overall aesthetics of the city that housing blocks for new developments should not be smaller than 450 square metres. For medium density housing such as town houses etc it is a different matter but I feel for a normal free standing home it is important that the aesthetics of the area be maintained and there should be room for shrubs and bushes and grass. New housing development should not have a crowded congested feeling. There needs to be a clear distinction between medium density housing high density development and normal single stand alone dwellings. Developers should not be allowed to sell any size block and class it as a regular size block for a home. 3

Do you have further comments/suggestions/evidence we should consider when further developing initiatives for increasing the liveability of the districts? Creating a Green Grid by way of co healthier environment, improves liveability_comments importance_rate_green_grids I am concerned with all these new multi storey developments that there is not level playable green space for children to play a game of football, soccer or cricket. Some of these new developments have gardens but they often don't have a reasonable size level green space for children to play more active ball games. Parents do not always have the time to take their children to an oval a kilometre or more away. They however particularly for primary age school children would let them play more active ball games with their friends if it was provided for in their apartment block. It may be possible for three storey housing developments who are side by side to share this level palyable green space and there by making it more financially feasable. A minumum of one thousand square metres of playable green space should be provided for. Five storey developments or higher should have larger areas of level playable green space such as two thousand square metres. I have seen a half a kilometre of new multi storey developments with no playable green space in these new developments although they may have some gardens. The Australian tradition of a backyard game of cricket, soccer or touch football need not die with these new developments. It is important that children and adults have accessable level green grass to play team ball games in these new developments which also add to a sense of community. My other concern is that there is not enough new full size ovals being planned for with all the new development. It is important with the increase in population that new full size ovals are added to the mix with adequate free parking for weekend sporting clubs to use the ovals. 3

onnecting parks, bushland and other open spaces, and a Blue Grid of beaches, rivers and other waterways, promotes a s access to recreation, encourages socialising, supports walking and cycling connections and improves environmental resilience. Protecting and enhancing green cover and shade trees reduces temperatures at ground level, provides animal habitat and enhances visual landscapes. More efficiently using water, energy, fuels and materials and improving the management of waste and recycling helps Greater Sydney become more sustainable and mitigates rising costs. importance_shade open_comment_shade importance_rate_water_energy_efficiency open_comment_water_energy_efficiency 3 3

Building resilience to environmental hazards such as flooding, urban heat islands and bushfires mitigates their financial, social and environmental impact on communities. importance_rate_environmental_resilience open_comment_environmental_resilience sustainability_comments 3 Do you have further comments/suggestions/evidence we should consider when further developing initiatives for increasing the sustainability of the districts?
