Air Handling Unit Teknogen Air Handling Units are specially designed for the demand for comfort and as well as for industrial needs.outer frame is made up of rock wool isolated panels and aluminium profiles to avoid heat transfer from unit to outerspace or vica versa.the units are suitable for mounting/demounting thanks to unwelded production of the body and the frame. The units are designed in 21 different models between 1.100 m 3 /h to 63.000 m 3 /h.the different filter options can be designed and be used on demand. The increasing demand for energy efficiency made heat recovery sections popular. The aluminium plate type and rotor type heat recovery is possible with Teknogen air Handling units. Teknogen air handling units are designed with different fan/motor combinations according to different section dimensions.the units are coming with IE2 type energy efficient type caged motors. The usage of EC fans are possible on demand. The outer noise levels of the units is low thanks to well isolated body of the unit.the usage of silencers in different lengths are possible in projects which very low noise levels are required. The section dimensions are between 636x490 and 2860x2550. For a quick selection of the unit Tablo 1 can be used. Selection Programme The selection programme is specially designed for Teknogen air handling units which makes the selection possible with different technical specifications and components.the programme can supply technical selections and drawings of the unit with required air volume, external static pressure, heating and cooling capacities and the elements used. 1

Casing of the Unit Body of the Unit Teknogen Air handling units are manufactured with well isolated rock wool panels and aluminium profiles to obstruct air bridging and thermal leakage. The panels are double skinned and in modular type with standard dimensions.the outer panels are painted galvanised steel. For inner panels stainless steel and painted galvanised steel are optional. The standard painting color is RAL 9002. Specifications of the Body The body of the unit is tested according to TSE EN 1886 and below mechanical specifications are obtained. The doors of the unit opens in outer direction. The doors opening to inside of the unit can be manufactured upon request for the cells with positive pressure. Fan / Motor Fan / Motor Teknogen air handling units can be manufactured with different types of fans such as airfoil plug fans etc. According to demand of the customer,the type of the fans are selected through selection programme.the efficiency of the fans can be optimized according to motor powers and noise levels. The fan's shooting direction could be on top,bottom or front. The units are manufactured with flanges for a better connection to the duct. The flanges could be rectangular or square in shape. The maintenance doors are always on the fan cells to make it easy to reach the fans. The surveillance window,illumination of the cell,belt-break alarm and constant flow kit(only with plug fans) can be mounted on demand. 3

Damper Damper Teknogen air handling units are manufactured with reverse winged dampers. The body and wings of the damper are made up of aluminium. The units has three different damper sections. Suction part with a single damper,mixing part with two dampers and mixing part with three dampers. Pre-filtering can be applied to damper cells on demand. Filter Cells Filter There are 4 type of Standard filters in Teknogen Air handling Units. According to their classifications, the dust keeping capacities of the filters are in below table. Filter Cells Panel Filter The panel filters are used for pre-filtering in comfort applications. They are classified as G2,G3,G4 according to their dust keeping capacities and can be cleaned with high pressure air. These filters can be manufactured in accordance to cleaning with water. The dimensions of the filters are standard and the filters can be easily taken out and changed. Bag Filter These filters are used for better filtering of the pre-filtered air thanks to their high dust keeping capacities. They are classified as F6,F7,F8 and F9 according to their dust keeping capacities (in EN779 standard). These filters are in cleanable type. Compact filter These filters are used for better filtering of the pre-filtered air thanks to their high dust keeping capacities.they are classified as F6,F7,F8 and F9 according to their dust keeping capacities(in EN779 standard). They can be alternative against bag filter thanks to their 292mm length. Active Carbon Filter They are used for suctioning of the bad odor and vapour molecules of the air. They are mainly used in industrial applications. They need to be changed when they loose the ability to keep granules in the air. 5

Heating / Cooling Coil Section Heating / Cooling Coil Section The capacities of the coil of the air handling unit can be selected according to required capacity for heating and cooling. The cooling coils could be with water or refrigerant. The heating coils could be with steam type. The coils are made up of copper pipe aluminium wings. Electrical Heater Section Electrical Heater If there is no source to heat the air, the electrical heaters are used to prevent the freezing. They have operation thermostat and safety thermostat in standard. These thermostats should be linked automation in order to avoid the increase of the temperature in the cell. 6

Humidifier Section The units can be with one of below listed humidifiers. Steam Humidifier It produces steam from the water. It works with microprocessor control. The steam coming from the humidifier section makes the humidifing through the steam pipes inside the air handling unit. Humidifier with Pads It works by giving water to cellulose made pad which makes humidity transfer possible.the humidity of the air could be increased with this way. Silencer Section Silencer The outer noise levels of the units are very low thanks the panels which has high noise keeping capacities. The silencers with different lengths could be used in order to have very low noise levels.there are 3 types of silencers with standard lengths. The noise keeping capacities of the 3 types silencer in different frequencies are below. Diffuser section Diffuser Scattered Passage Diffuser Recovered Passage It is used for regulating the air volume in applications which radial fans are used. Heat Recovery Section Heat Recovery Teknogen air handling units are manufactured with heat recovery sections to supply more energy efficiency. There are two type of heat recovery sections. Aluminium Plate,Crossflow Heat Recovery It is the most common heat recovery type. The fresh air and the the sucted air from inner environment works in %70 efficiency. High heating efficiency is possible with this type of exchangers. The free-cooling is also possible with this type of exchangers. 8

Heat Recovery Section In Standard applications with crossflow heat recovery sections, a drain pan could be mounted to the part which the exhausted air leaves the exchangers. If the humidity is too high, for the other air flow, a drain could be mounted on demand.the cross flow applications are designed in 4 different types. Pos. A Pos. B Pos. C Pos. D Rotor Type Heat Recovery These type of heat recovery is prefered thanks to their high efficiency,humidity transfer capacities and their compact shapes. Due to required humidity transfer specification,the surface of the aluminium steel could be covered with different components. The heating efficiencies could reach up to %80 while the humidity transfer efficiencies could vary. 9

Heat Recovery Section There is a possibility of mixing of exhausted air with fresh air due the turning of the rotor wheel. Fresh Air Teknogen air handling units are manufactured with sweeping area to reduce this effect. Rotor Type Heat Recovery sections are designed in 4 types. Control System Automation The increasing demand for low energy consumption and the sensitive control needs of the buildings could be covered by Teknogen air handling units thanks to improved automation systems.the automation system consists of electrical and electronical command panels of the unit and it works in harmony with the components and the accessories.these system prevents the possible problems which can happen during the work phase of the unit due to changing demand from the end user and also the changing of the environmental parameters.
