EVERY CHALLENGE IS A JOURNEY TOWARDS THE FUTURE The sense of history cannot be put aside. Exploring new areas of technological research means abandoning habits in order to head towards new horizons. Speed and success are unattainable without experience. The wisdom of GALLETTI, which has specialized in the development and production of hydronic indoor units for over 60 years, has produced ART-U, a design-driven fan coil, conceived according to a design philosophy that experiments with the idea of technology on a human scale. DESIGN With ART-U, Galletti presents a new concept of hydronic indoor unit that becomes a furnishing accessory both in the residential sector and in the next-generation service sector. The goal achieved is highly ambitious: a new and unique product that is not yet available on the market, in line with the stringent requirements of energy efficiency and style. TECHNOLOGY State of the art Air Conditioning from a technical point of view is achieved thanks to the optimization of the fan coil s internal heat exchange, combined with the high performance of the BLDC inverter motors. INGENUITY Effective room comfort is efficiently and intuitively accessible thanks to microprocessor control panels. The regulation of the air conditioning is now multifunctional and can be accessed using a single device. 5
Design NEXT-GENERATION AIR CONDITIONING An unprecedented new beginning in the history of the fan coil: in synergy with the Department of Industrial Product Design of the University of Bologna, the perfect balance has been struck between high technology and user-friendliness with a depth of just 10 cm. Smooth lines and compact size for a lightweight design and ideal integration in space. TECHNICAL FOCUS The elegant curved front panel consists of two aluminum sheets. The fan coil unit is available in brushed natural aluminum and white RAL9010. The upper grille consists of adjustable anodized aluminum fins, available in the versions for on-board or wall-mounted control. The front grille stabilizes the operation of the tangential fan unit and is equipped with a stainless steel filter. Technology HIGH PERFORMANCE MINIMUM CONSUMPTION A standard technology used is the BLDC motor with inverter integrated in the ventilation unit, to ensure low power consumption. To achieve state of the art Air Conditioning from a technical point of view, an innovative design tool was used based on computational fluid dynamics simulations (CFD). TECHNICAL FOCUS In CFD simulations a computational domain with a polyhedral computation grid consisting of 12 million cells was adopted as it reproduces the whirling movement of the air inside the hydronic indoor unit most effectively. The research also focused on improving the air distribution along the longitudinal axis of the fan unit. The study of the air motion field has enabled the reduction of fluid recirculation downstream from the fan, preventing unwanted pressure drop inside the fan coil. The end benefit obtained from CFD simulations is an improvement in heat exchange, with a consequent reduction in power consumption and noise emissions under the same operating conditions and with the same components. Ingenuity ART-U, THE INTELLIGENT FAN COIL The regulation software, developed entirely at Galletti and aimed at simplifying air conditioning control, permits immediate interaction with ART-U. The air temperature and humidity control is quick and precise through the use of advanced microprocessor controls. TECHNICAL FOCUS The microprocessor controls are designed to manage the Galletti range of system units with modulating speed BLDC motors. Their advanced technology makes it possible to establish control networks that are suited to meet any needs, for automatic and intelligent management of the system units. The integrated management of the controls is completed with ERGO, the monitoring software that enables (makes it possible to realize) ideal air conditioning regulation, with significant energy savings.
