The RFP does not state how the Design Builder is to address any code deficiencies in the any existing rooms (Main Electrical Room, UPS Room, Computer Room) which are outside the existing control room, but that will be indirectly affected by the retrofit project. Can the state address that issue? The Department does not foresee any existing code deficiencies in the existing rooms (Main Electrical Room, UPS Room, Computer Room). However, if any code deficiencies are identified during the design and construction phases, and are not due to the Contractor s work or impacted by Contractor s work, all such deficiencies will be evaluated by the Department on a case-by-case basis. The Department, at that time, will determine the most appropriate manner to rectify such deficiencies. 7. Can the state address the issue of how the Design Builder is to address any improvements to the existing HVAC system due to the higher heat load in the existing Control Room due to the new equipment and increased occupant capacity? No improvements are anticipated for the existing HVAC system. It is the Contractor s responsibility to adjust the air quantities and ventilation air to maintain a comfortable environment in the control room. 8. How many SLERS remote radio devices should be installed at the Temporary Control Rooms? The Contractor is not responsible for providing SLERS radios in the temporary control rooms. The Department is planning to use existing portable handheld radios for the temporary control room(s). 9. If available, can TMC provide a copy of Contingency/Continuation Plan for emergencies / disasters? Find attached, the Department s Hurricane Response Action Plan (HRAP) for reference only. The Contractor shall be responsible for any emergencies/disaster contingency plan for the Contractor s work area and work equipment. The Department is not responsible for any inaccuracies in this reference As common in all Department Construction contracts, the Contractor is responsible to submit a hurricane/emergency evacuation plan. This plan is typically discussed at the Preconstruction Conference. 10. What is the function of switch control located at the top (and right) of workstations (drawing A4-02)? Page 2 of 5

This is a desktop switch for the option to raise and lower the workstation. This feature is not being incorporated at this time. However, the intent of specification is to provide the structure needed to accommodate the raising/lowering in the event the Department wants to add the equipment and controls to implement this feature in the future. 11. Can TMC provide as-built drawings for the existing TMC Facility? Since we may have more questions after we review the MEP as-built drawings and compare them with our site visit notes, can TMC extend the deadline for technical questions until we receive the drawings? Yes, as-builts will be provided. Technical questions deadline has been extended. 12. The existing fire alarm system control and annunciator panel is manufactured by Edwards 'EST'; however, it currently maintained by ADT. The RFP does not address whether the Design Builder is required to contact the current ADT Contractor for any modifications to the existing fire alarm system or can any Edwards 'EST' authorized service contractor will be allowed to make modifications to the existing fire alarm system. Can TMC please clarify? Contractor will need to coordinate with ADT. Modification can be performed by any Edwards 'EST' authorized service contractor. 13. According to Note No.4 shown on Electrical Sheet E3-01 included as part of the RFP, the new duplex receptacles feeding the Operation Staff consoles installed parallel to the new monitors partition are to be connected to normal power. Can TMC please confirm that these stations do not need to be connected to neither existing critical power nor the existing UPS? Is the Design Builder required to provide individual UPS for these stations? Connect all equipment in the Control Room to the existing UPS. 14. According to Note No.10 shown on Electrical Sheet E3-01 included as part of the RFP, a new simplex receptacle and video junction box are required for the new 85" flat screen tv's. Do these tv's need to be connected to normal power, emergency power or UPS? Can TMC provide specifications for simplex receptacles including mounting height for the simplex receptacle? What is the diameter size for the conduit stup-up? Connect all equipment in the Control Room to the existing UPS. Contractor to determine the location of the simplex receptacles. Contractor to determine the diameter size of the conduit stub out. The 6 reference in the plans for this conduit refers to the length of conduit that stubs out into the ceiling space. 15. What is the location of new 30 KVA Transformer feeding the new electrical panel in the equipment room? It is not shown in the RFP. The location of the new 30 KVA Transformer shall be determined during the project s design phase. 16. There are two 250 volt, 20 amp special receptacles installed on the floor of the equipment room. What is the Design Builder to do with these two surface mounted receptacles? The Contractor shall relocate both the receptacles along with the video wall relocation. 17. The existing temporary offices at the second floor have pre-wired furniture system. This furniture system appears have been installed after the existing building was occupied. Can TMC please confirm and provide as-built drawings for the pre-wired furniture system installation in the temporary offices? Also, can TMC provide specification and catalog cut sheet for the furniture system installed? (We need to know the circuit capacity and Page 3 of 5

with wiring configuration of the existing furniture system. It appears that the furniture system is a 2 circuit system which is feed from the existing UPS.) Can TMC please confirm? As-builts, specifications and catalog cut sheets for this furniture are not available. However, based on the sticker information on the furniture, it appears that the manufacturer is Knoll/Reff. Based on preliminary review of the electric outlets, it appears that the center console cubicles are 3 circuit system and the two edge console cubicles are 2 circuit system and all cubicles appear to be fed from the existing UPS. All information provided as a response to this question is for reference only. The Contractor shall verify and confirm the information as needed for the design. The Department is not responsible for any inaccuracies in this reference 18. Can TMC provide a list of equipment including electrical load and heating load for the TMC provided equipment to be located in the second floor temporary offices? It is needed to determine if the existing HVAC and power distribution in these rooms is sufficient for the new occupancy. Each temporary TMC room will have approximately 12 PCs and 36 flat screen monitors. The estimated power load for each PC is 850W with typical heat dissipation of 1707 BTU/hr. The estimated power load for each monitor is 60W max with heat dissipation of 172 BTU/hr. 19. Can TMC address which existing electrical panels are to be used to feed the relocated equipment in the temporary offices at the second floor in case additional power is required? The Contractor shall determine all required information during the project s design phase. 20. Can TMC address whether the Design Building is required to provide occupancy sensors to control the lighting in any of the areas affected by this project scope of work? No occupancy sensors were noted or specified. Control of room lighting is by dimming switches. 21. Can TMC provide contact information for the Fire Protection System Contractor that installed or maintains the existing fire sprinkler system? Maintenance Services provided by Tyco Simplex Grinnell. Services provided: Annual Inspection Contact Info: (954) 431-3700 22. Can TMC specify if District 6 has a preferred manufacturer for the supply of workstation consoles, or if these consoles could be produced and installed by an USA manufacturer with recognized craftsmanship and experience in working for government institutions, who is also able to provide a warranty for a minimum of 3 years? As stated in the Appendix IV to Exhibit A Scope of Services document, Subject to compliance with requirements, provide Response Consoles for main workstations as indicated in drawings and Strategy Consoles for operator console (directly underneath video wall) as indicated in drawings by Evans Consoles Corporation or comparable product (page 123200 2; 43 of 169). 23. Can TMC specify if adjacent offices to Control Room on ground floor are to be painted as well? These offices are not addressed at the SOW. No painting is required for the adjacent offices to Control Room. Page 4 of 5

24. Is it possible to establish an area, outside TMC building, to place one mobile office and one or two containers to be used as warehouse? If so, we suggest the area behind TMC building next to the generators. Yes, the Contractor may establish an area outside the TMC building as a temporary work area mobile office, containers etc. The Contractor shall be responsible for all logistics, utilities, security and others. The Contractor shall prepare and submit a plan with all details for Department s review and approval prior to setting up such temporary office/warehouse.
