FIRE ALARM PANEL MODEL : IFP 02/04 1.INTRODUCTION This manua intended as a compete guide to the mode IFP 02/ 04, Conventiona Fire Aarm Contro and Indicating pane. First part of this manua guides the user about the pane Instaation and Commissioning and then it is describing User Instruction Operation with fu technica detais. 2. SYSTEM DESIGN AND PLAN This pane is designed to meet the genera requirements of IS 2189. 3. GENERAL The microcontrer based Automatic Fire Aarm contro and indication pane is designed to detect the fire in its eariest practicabe moment through the detector and deveoped with the state of art technoogy. It provides a high reiabe monitoring of protected area. The pane operates on 220V AC mains, with 24V DC battery as a standby power. The buit in circuit provides constant votage charging to maintain the battery capacity. 4. FEATURES: Rugged CRCA sheet with powder coated finish. Operates on 220V, AC suppy Battery backup with buit in charging. Error free fire/ faut status in unambiguous coored LED indication. 3
Low battery visua warning with audibe tone. Watchdog, system on, AC on, Battery on, Charger on indications. Reay output for actuators. Lamp test faciity. Compatiabe to a types of Conventiona detectors. Twin RED LED indication for fire. Zone isoation faciity. 24V DC Auxiary output externa notification devices ( sounder, Be, etc ) Hooter oop monitoring faciity. Hooter test faciity. 5. MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION : The encosure is constructed of CRCA sheet with powder coated finish. The pane encosures are designed to affored the degree of protection as per IP 54. The cabe entry is via performed 20mm dia knockouts ocated at the top of the cabinet.the pane aso has a buit in battery provision to accommodate 2 No s of 12V/7AH batteries. 6. INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING : 6.1. INSTALLATION : Note : The instaation of the fire detection and aarm compy with : a. The IEE wiring reguation. b. The Indian Standard of fire detection and aarm for buiding. c. Care shoud be taken not to insta cabe in the proximity of high votage cabes or in areas ikey to induce eectrica interference. 4
Fix the pane in its mounting position using the key sots and fix the pane to the wa using the screws. Ensure the encosure and the inner parts of the pane are given sufficient protection during instaation period. A externa cabes are to be ganded via the 20mm dia performed knockouts ocated at the top of the pane. When the instaation of a the cabes has been competed cean the interior of the encosure ensuring a masonry debris and driing sword are removed 6.2. COMMISSIONING : Check a the entered wiring is correcty identified and aso check the cabes are free from faut conditions using a mutimeter. Connect the externa wiring into their respective terminas and repace the END OF LINE resistor to the ast device in the circuit. Prior to the initia powerup of the pane, conduct the foowing preiminary checks : a. Check for any externa signs of damage caused during instaation. b. Check a the PCBS are secure in its monitory position. c. Check the cabes are secure and correcty connected. d. Check a the cabe termination is tight & secure. e. Connect the batteries ensuring the correct poarity. A damages/faut must be rectified before proceeding Switch on the pane. The pane wi indicate the foowing in the LED indicating section a. OPERATIONS *POWER CONDITIONS: 1. A.C FAIL: During AC mains fai the A.C. ON LED goes off and charger on LED aso goes off with intermitted pane buzzer faut tone. Battery ON LED ights on. To sience the faut tone,press the SILENCE key. If A.C. mains resumes then the pane woud automaticay go to the norma condition. 2. BATTERY LOW : If the Battery votage goes down ess than 20V then the Battery ON LED binks with intermitted pane Buzzer faut tone. ti the Battery votage goes ow to 18.5V. If the votage goes beow 18.5V Pane buzzer generates continuous tone. In this condition SILENCE key cannot respond to sience the pane buzzer, and there is no response from input actions. Such as fire, open faut, short faut & sounder oop faut. In this case the user can switch off the pane or change the battery. If battery votage cross, above 18.5V 20V Pane automaticay goes to norma mode. To sience the faut tone press the SILENCE KEY *ZONE LOOP CONDITIONS : 1. FAULT CONDITIONS : The zone oops are monitord through an externa END OF LINE ( EOL ) 4k7 Resistor for open/short circuit. If an open/short circuit is occurred in the Zone oops in any of the zone, the open/short LED in the corresponding zone wi gow with intermittent faut tone in the pane buzzer. 6
Press the SILENCE KEY to sience the pane buzzer. The visua indication wi remain ti the faut conditions are rectified. 2. FIRE CONDITIONS : In case of Fire in any of the zone, the corresponding RED TWIN LEDS wi fash. In this condition the pane Buzzer wi give waiing fire tone. The Auxiiary reays wi be tripped. Press the SILENCE key to sience the pane buzzer and a the externa sounders. The TWIN LEDS wi gow steadiy, and the pane buzzer generate a intermittent tone. In this condition SILENCE key cannot respond to sience the pane buzzer. The conditions of the visua indications, Auxiiary reays and pane buzzer wi remain, ti the pane is reset. Before pressing the sience key, If any subsequent fire in the second zone comes, it wi be indicated by the corresponding fashing of TWIN RED LEDs and the previous indication wi go to steady state. 3. ZONE ISOLATION : To isoate the zone oops for maintenance purpose and bring back to the norma operating condition, foow the procedure as beow. To Isoate a particuar zone, perform the foowing steps. 1 Hod the SILENCE key for 3 seconds. 2 Zone 1 ISOLATE LED start binking and watch dog LED woud gow stabe manner. 3 To move to the second zone, again press the sience key. 4 After seecting the zone, press the ISOLATE key to isoate that zone. 5 Now the particuar zone is ISOLATED with the gowing ISOLATE LED and every 4 second once, Beep sound wi be enabed, and aso the votage to the oop is cut off. 7
To bring back the isoated zone to the norma monitoring condition, foow the steps beow 1 Foow the above steps 1 to 3, to seect a particuar zone. 2 After seecting the zone, press the ISOLATE key to bring back the zone to norma condition. 3 Now the particuar zone comes to norma condition with the ISOLATE LED goes off. 4. HOOTER LOOP SENSE : The Hooter oop is monitored through an externa END OF LINE ( EOL ) 4k7 Resistor for open/short circuit. If an open circuit is occurred in the hooter oop, the hooter oop faut LED woud bink. If short circuit is occurred in the Hooter oop, the hooteroop faut LED woud continuousy gow, with intermittent faut tone in the pane buzzer. Press the SILENCE key to sience the pane buzzer. The visua indication wi remain ti the faut conditions are rectified. KEY FUNCTIONS 1. LAMP TEST KEY : This key is provided to test whether a the LED S avaiabe are in good conditions or not. When the key is pressed a the LED S wi gow with continuous tone in the pane buzzer, unti the key is in pressed condition and the previous condition is retained after reeasing the key. 2. SILENCE KEY : This key is provided to sience the pane buzzer and the externa sounders during the fire Conditions. If the key is pressed pane buzzer and externa sounders are sienced, Simiary during the faut conditions, the pane buzzer is sienced by this key. 8
3. RESET KEY : This key is provided to reset the pane to norma conditions. 4. ISOLATE KEY : This key is provided to isoate and deisoate the seected zone. 5. HOOTER TEST KEY : When the key is pressed the externa sounder and interna pane buzzer wi be activated, unti the key is in pressed Condition and the previous conditions retained after reeasing the key. INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOLLOWED In norma condition the foowing visua indications are avaiabe on front side of the pane. 1. WATCHDOG ( W.D ) in binking condition ( Red LED ) 2. SYSTEM ON indication ( Green LED ) 3. AC ON indication ( Yeow LED ) 4. CHARGER ON Indication ( Red LED ) In case of Fire the FIRE RED LED of respective Zone wi fash with aarm Sound. To sience the aarm press the SILENCE key. After taking necessary actions, to restore the pane to norma operating conditions press the RESET key. In case of open/short faut Green/Yeow LED of respective Zone wi gow with Intermittent Pane buzzer sound. To sience the Intermittent buzzer Sound press the SILENCE key. When the Faut is ceared or corrected, the pane goes to the operating conditions automaticay. 9
