I am a novice gardener and chose this set of books thinking it would be a helpful, comprehensive guide to growing things. I was also under the impression that it was actually a SET of books, not some little thing slightly larger than a pamphlet supposedly containing five books within it. This is a THIN booklet containing poorly written, short, unorganized paragraphs about random things related to gardening. There are NO pictures, which would be extremely helpful when the author was describing (I use that word loosely) different gardening tools, containers, plants, and methods of planting. There are numerous grammatical errors and tons of repitition, especially considering its size. I bought it mainly because of the amazing reviews, but am extremely disappointed. Also, the design and layout of the book look like it was done in Microsoft Paint by a middle school student. I would not recommend this book and I believe all of the five-star reviews are made up. I bought this box set specifically for the book on raised bed gardening, but having all of the others in the set is actually fantastic! It's given me a really good overview of the whole process and what's available to me with gardening.i particularly found the raised bed gardening book really helpful. This is a great book if you want to get started on raised bed gardening, and get it right the first time! It is a very practical book that will walk you though every step of the process. Whether you're dealing with a new site, or if you're re-working a current one, it gives all the information you will need. I found the concept of 'Lasagna' gardening and structuring the layers to be particularly helpful for me specifically. It also breaks down some plants that are great to start with, how to use them, and why they're so good.this is a great and practical set that has gotten me started on my gardening journey. If you're keen to get into gardening and want a very comprehensive outline of the whole process, then I highly recommend this entire set! I Purchased this book for my father who's an extensive gardener and crop grower, he was amazed at how much information this Box set brings its tells you what you need for planting all sorts of vegetables..me personally i like growing tomatoes and i even learned a couple new things from this box set!this box set also teaches you how to grow all types of flowers! i have already planted some. it even teaches you about the dirt and how if you see earthworms then its a good sign.i amazed at how much info went into this book! 5 stars from me. Very prolific author- check out the author's page on. About two to three weeks between publication of books. But that's not the real issue. Check out the reviews by "most recent". My gosh, so many five star reviews all posted on the exact same date! Just remember that can be a

Having just moved to a new house where we are happy to finally be able to garden this set has given us lots to work with. I especially like the Raised Bed Gardening for Beginners as this is something my wife is very excited about. Lots of hints and tips that city folk like us don't necessarily know and are thankful for. Plus, 5 books for the price of 1. You can't beat that. The pictures shown give the impression that this is a large, 5-book set containing multiple thick volumes. This is a lie. Each of the "books" is about a 10 page pamphlet. Each "book" contains about 5 chapters and the chapters are one or two pages each for the most part. Luckily I have Kindle Unlimited and downloaded this for free. I read the entire thing in about 30 minutes, by which I mean the entire 5 volume set. I would say the section on companion plantings was somewhat usefulthere was about a 2 page chart showing recommended combinations-but it also contains such amazing wisdom as "don't plant small plants in a big container because they will look silly." Much of the other information in these pamphlets is the kind of thing you could find from a google search or on any very basic website. Here's an example from "Raised Bed Gardening" chapter 8, Essential Care and Maintenance: "Ample Sun Exposure: Plants need sunlight to thrive and grow, so make sure that your plants are getting the needed amount of light. In the absence of the natural light, you can use your artificial lighting that still makes photosynthesis possible." Now, that is the COMPLETE paragraph. That's all. There are 7 equally short paragraphs in that chapter, and 8 similar chapters in the entire book.i would be much less harsh if this was a 99 cent e-book, but the author has clearly gone to a lot of trouble to create a gorgeous professional looking cover and graphics that gives an impression of a thick, complete, informative set. There is no way this is worth $15. Even 99 cents would be pushing it.if you're a beginner check out the Square Foot Gardening books, those are much more informative.
