LOOKING AFTER YOUR BOAT The surface The boat is built with high quality fibreglass. Mininum of 2 coats of Gelcoat are applied onto the fibreglass to ensure a smooth surface base. It is coated and filled with a layer of polyester undercoat and two applications of top coat. The surface is meticulously prepared with hours of sanding and filling in between coats to achieve the smoothest finish possible. General cleaning Prior to delivery, the boat is waxed and polished. It is important to keep the boat in this pristine condition by thoroughly cleaning it at least once a week with fresh water and a mild cleaning agent, using a soft brush or sponge designed for automotive/marine applications. Never use an abrasive cleaning product or harsh cloth on the fibreglass surface. Stubborn dirt is best removed with polish. Polish A maintained boat does not require constant polishing and waxing. Generally a light polish and wax every three to six months will suffice. If the surface becomes dull or damaged, use a cut and polish to restore the shine. Stainless steel As salt water is corrosive, it is advisable to hose down the metal frequently especially when the boat has been out to sea. If there is surface rust, clean it with ultra fine steel wool. For keeping metal in top condition, 3M stainless steel polish is highly recommended. Hull underwater The submerged part of the hull is usually full of organic growth. It is recommended to have the hull cleaned, scrubbed and checked for osmosis at least once a year. Antifouling is also recommended if it is necessary.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR BOAT Engine This boat is powered by the proven performance of a Gardner-made 150 horsepower 6 cylinder Diesel engine. In normal conditions, this equates to cruising at about 9-knots per hour, at a low revving speed of 1200 to 1300-revolutions per minute. To keep the engine in running order, it is recommended to run the engine once a week for about 10 minutes. Engaging the propeller at low rev can help reduce organic growth. Over heating The engine is cooled by its internal water that circulates through an external cooler. Seawater is constantly pumped through the cooler to cool the engine water. Please check the water level before taking a trip as overheating can damage the engine. To check the engine water, just twist open the cap on the top of the engine. If the water is low, top it up with tap water before taking a trip. For monitoring purposes, the temperature-warning gauge is on the console and should be 150 degrees Fahrenheit when cruising. Oil pressure The engine has been reconditioned in the factory and checked before installation. As a guide, the oil pressure (displayed on the gauge in the console) should read about 40lbs per square inch, with gearbox pressure of 180lbs per square inch.the engine oil and the gear box oil should be changed after every 200 hours of use. Fuel tank The fuel tank is located next to the engine in the engine room. When full, it holds approximately 360 litres of diesel fuel. The fuel level is located on the side of the tank. Normal fuel consumption is 12 litres per hour at cruising speed.

THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM Shore fresh water supply The hull is installed with a coupling device enabling the easy click-to-connect, like a normal gardening hose. For safety reasons, the device is also a pressure regulator with a built-in valve to prevent excessive pressure in the boat. NOTE: This is a diagram drawing for reference only. Also, if the water has been stored this tank only holds enough water for a screw by using a large coin. Remember, and this can be easily unfastened like a inlet is placed on the swimming platform sure you fill up your fresh water tank. The When you take your boat out to sea, make Fresh water tank water pump at the switchboard. 4. Turn on any above sea level tap such as the one in the kitchen sink to drain off water. 5. Fill emptied tank with fresh water. Hot water The hot water unit is a storage type. It is automatically re-filled as it is used. The installed unit can hold about 140 litres of water, which is ample for normal use. The water is heated to the nominated temperature controlled by a thermostat installed on the side of unit. If you find the water is not hot enough, adjust the thermostat to higher level. For safety purposes, it is advisable not to have the temperature too high. Draining Wastewater is drained in two ways. If the water is below sea level, it must be physically pumped out. If the water is above sea level, it is automatically drained by gravity. Shower pumps Drains for the showers and bath are located below sea level. Grey water is fed to a collection tank, a pump with auto switch disposes the water through an outlet on the side of the boat above the water line on the hull Blockage The grey water tank has a filter which can be lift off to clean if it is blocked with too much hairs and dust.
