Why this topic?

Historic structures are important to our history, culture and community character --and the National Flood Insurance Program and Building Codes have special provisions for some historic structures

What is an historic structure? Must possess integrity of design, setting, materials and workmanship, AND Must be associated with: Events that significantly contribute to broad patterns of our history; or Lives of significant persons in our past; or Embody distinctive characteristics of a type of construction or have high artistic value; or Be likely to yield information important in history or prehistory.

How many historic structures on Cape? Roughly 11,000 inventoried in MACRIS (Assessors data suggests more) O Pre-1800 O 1801-1900 O 1901-1940
