Victoria Wilmotte by Haviland Biography Born in Paris in 1985, Victoria Wilmotte lives and works in Paris. She studied at the Camondo School in Paris and later earned her master s degree in Product Design at the London Royal College of Art, under the direction of Ron Arad. Victoria Wilmotte created her studio in Paris in 2009. VW s signature is now a brand, through her personal creations and her collaborations with many clients. She answers from limited edition with industrialists to custom-made orders, such as the realization of monumental marble tables, objects or even space arrangement work. In 2014, she collaborated with TORRI s gallery on more exclusive edition projects, especially at the PAD in Paris. Her recent works include collaborating with the Carpenters Workshop Gallery on projects produced in the VW Factory. In 2015, she opened her production atelier @FabienBreuil to serve her customers with her know-how. She imagined this workshop equipped with machine tools, where she conceives and realizes limited series, small productions, and prototype development before large-scale industrialization. Victoria has always cultivated a special interest in materials, shapes and manufacturing processes, both industrial and artisanal. Mineral and steel remain areas that she particularly likes, and she has a methodical and meticulous fascination to that of a sculptor. Between the straight line and the sharpened corner, and the play of solid forms and empty spaces, Victoria can offer a singular eye on the domestic universe, which remains today her field of interest. Collaboration Victoria Wilmotte s signature is posed on porcelain with a collection highlighting the art of design. In the form of a mug and a carafe, the French designer facets porcelain as she wishes for an ever more surprising meeting of the design universe and Limoges' know-how. Victoria Wilmotte collection invites a warm contrast between Anglo-Saxon and French culture, recalling its path. Imagined at the end of her studies, Victoria Wilmotte decides to create her favorite project with the famous porcelain Manufacturer. Rigorous lines and sobriety, such are the master words of the designer for this delicate and full of subtlety collection. This project, according to Victoria... "This project of a mug and carafe is the functional design of a research project carried out in London for my diploma, of which three sculptural carafes inspired by industrial containers took place. It is a formal work starting from elevation drawings and materials and cavities interweaving, an abstract work in two dimensions of which the third dimension is revealed through the object s function.
Christian Ghion by Haviland Biography Having studied in the ECM (Furniture Creation Studies) and in Charenton s school of architecture, Christian Ghion created his first agency in 1987 in collaboration with Patrick Nadeau. From the 90s, he became a key figure in the French design world after receiving a first Grand Prix de la Creation delivered by Paris city. He has collaborated with the greatest names in the sector, such as Andrée Putman, Philippe Starck and Teruro Kurosaki. In 1998, he decided to fly solo and founded his agency to diversify his business. After several interior design projects, he decided to return to the design s pure essence, with the products.- Collaboration Haviland s Manufacturer and the designer Christian Ghion decided to associate for the first time around a project between heaven and earth placed under the design sign. Haviland and the designer push the material s limits to create two contemporary vases with wild lines. Wind consists of two vases of 20 and 40cm in biscuit, claiming their unique styles. Stretching, modeling, engraving, carving, the designers have fun with materials and invite us to a continually surprising interpretation through collaborations. As a promise, the time of an exhibition, Haviland s Manufacturer reinvents itself as a timeless trend. Wind vases arose from Haviland s desire to display a creative renewal. They are the cousins of the Dune collection, imagined for Daum. They take the codes of an invisible mineral world to surprise, to seduce and to give to see. These pieces go beyond their elementary function to propose a true sculptural work.
