USER MANUAL

IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDERS This appliance should only be used for domestic cleaning, as described in this user guide. Please ensure that this guide is fully understood before operating the appliance. Do not leave the appliance plugged in. Always switch off and remove the plug from the socket after charging, or before cleaning the appliance or any maintenance task. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. If the charger cable is damaged stop using the appliance immediately. To avoid a safety hazard, replace with a genuine spare part. Keep hands, feet, loose clothing and hair away from rotating brushes. Use only the original charger supplied with the appliance. Check that your supply voltage is the same as that stated on the charger. This appliance is supplied with a double insulated battery charger which is only suitable for insertion in a 30V (UK 40V) socket outlet. Plug the charger in to suitable socket outlet and connect the charger jack plug to the appliance. For first use, charge the battery pack for 5.5 hours. To charge the battery pack, detach it from the cleaner by pressing the battery pack release button and plug the charger into the charging port located on the battery pack. The battery pack can also be charged when inserted into the cleaner. Ensure that the cleaner is switched off during charging. When the charger is connected, the battery LED lights on the battery pack will illuminate in turn as the battery charges, until all four lights are illuminated. Once fully charged, the four LED lights will remain lit and will turn off after 5 minutes. Re-connect the appliance to the charger after use to recharge the battery. Never charge the batteries in temperatures above 45 C or below 0 C. It is normal for the charger to become warm to the touch when charging. When charging the cleaner, it will automatically turn off. Do not unplug the charger by pulling on the power cord. Unplug the charger in the event of prolonged absence (holidays, etc.).recharge appliance again before use as batteries may self discharge over increased periods of storage. If the appliance is to be disposed of the batteries must first be removed. The appliance must be disconnected from the supply mains when removing the battery. Dispose of the batteries safely. Run the appliance until it stops because the batteries are fully discharged. Used batteries should be taken to a recycling station and not disposed of with household waste. To remove the batteries, please contact the Hoover Customer Centre or proceed according to the - -

IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDERS following instructions. IMPORTANT: Always fully discharge the batteries before removal and ensure the charger is unplugged. Run the cleaner until the batteries are completely empty. Remove the charger jack plug from the appliance. Push the battery release button to eject the battery pack. Remove the battery pack slowly from the slot. NOTE: Should you experience any difficulty in dismantling the unit or for more detailed information on treatment, recovery and recycling of this appliance, please contact your local city office or your household waste disposal service. Do not replace the batteries with non-rechargeable batteries. Use only attachments, consumables or spares recommended or supplied by Hoover. When using cleaning tools ensure that the appliance is kept in the upright (parked) position. This will avoid possible damage to the carpet or floor covering. When cleaning stairs, do not position the appliance above you. Static electricity: some carpets can cause a small build up of static electricity. Any static discharge is not hazardous to health. Do not use your appliance out of doors or on any wet surface or for wet pick up. Do not pick up hard or sharp objects, matches, hot ashes, cigarette ends or other similar items. Do not spray with or pick up flammable liquids, cleaning fluids, aerosols or their vapours. Do not run over the power cord when using your appliance or remove the plug by pulling on the power cord. Do not continue to use your appliance if it appears faulty. Hoover service: To ensure the continued safe and efficient operation of this appliance we recommend that any servicing or repairs are only carried out by an authorised Hoover service engineer. Do not stand on or wrap the cord around arms or legs when using your appliance. Do not use the appliance to clean animals or people. When using the cleaning tools, ensure to always steady the appliance with your other hand. This will ensure that the appliance does not fall while in use. The Environment The symbol on this appliance indicates that this appliance may not be treated as household waste. Instead it must be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Disposal must be carried out in accordance with local environmental regulations for waste disposal. PREPARING YOUR CLEANER SWITCH CLEANER RELEASE Insert the main handle in the cleaner body and then adjust handle up/down to the desired height. Always ensure the battery has sufficient electrical charge by pressing the charging status button prior to use. Recline to unlock the cleaner Insert the battery pack by pushing it into the cleaner slot ensuring it is fixed in position, you will hear a click when fully located.. Main Power On/Off Switch The Product will always start working in standard mode when you press the ON/OFF button. ACCESSORY STORAGE & ASSEMBLY* Assemble the mini turbo brush holder to the handle tube of the cleaner, fit the mini turbo nozzle to the holder.*. Turbo Mode Switch To enable turbo mode press turbo power button for deep clean. Twist the handle to manoeuvre under or around furniture.* Fit the in Dusting & Crevice tool to the cleaner. Insert the long crevice into the extension tube and fit to the cleaner. 3. Brush Bar Switch Press the brush bar on/off button at the top of the unit. Brush Bar ON - recommended for carpets. Brush Bar OFF - suitable for hard floors. * Certain models only - 4 -

CHARGING/DISCHARGING WIPER BLADE ASSEMBLY For first use, charge the battery pack for 5.5 hours. To charge the battery pack, detach it from the cleaner by pressing the battery pack release button and plug the charger into the charging port located on the battery pack. The battery pack can also be charged when it is inserted into the cleaner. When the charger is connected, the LED lights battery indicator on the battery pack will illuminate in turn as the battery charges, until all four lights are illuminated. Once fully charged, the four LED lights will remain lit and will turn off after 5 minutes. LED LIGHTS BATTERY INDICATOR: <5%, flashing 5%~5% 6%~50% 5%~75% 76%~00% IMPORTANT: Always ensure battery has sufficient battery capacity before use. Charge your cleaner if one LED light is flashing (remaining capacity 5%). When the cleaner is in use, the LED lights battery indicator will illuminate indicating how much charge is remaining. When the battery charge level is 5%, the first LED light will flash for 5 seconds before the cleaner will automatically switch off. When the cleaner is not in use, the battery level can be checked by pressing the Battery Charge Status Button (P). The LED lights battery indicator will remain lit for 5 seconds. To obtain the best performance and energy efficiency, you can assemble the front wiper blade to the soleplate of the nozzle. Switch off the cleaner, then grip the inserted side of the wiper blade and slide along the slot until the wiper blade is fully located. To reduce the push force on the cleaner, you can remove the wiper blade. Lift one end of the wiper blade and slide along the slot till fully out. CLEANING TOOLS All accessories can be fitted directly onto the hose, handle and handle tube. Combine accessories depending on use. NOTE: To optimise the battery performance you should fully charge the battery pack on a regular basis or at least once per year. WARNING: Do not try to open the battery pack and repair it by yourself. Dispose of the batteries safely. Used batteries should be taken to a recycling station and not disposed of with household waste. IMPORTANT! When using cleaning tools, the cleaner must be kept in the upright position, particularly when cleaning stairs. Hold unit while using hose or handle tube. * Certain models only - 5 -

CLEANING THE STAIRS EMPTYING THE BIN It is dangerous to place the cleaner above you when cleaning stairs. To remove the bin from the cleaner press the bin release button. Ensure it is always operated in an upright position. Hold the container over the Bin and press the easy open button. The container release flap will open and you can empty the debris into the waste bin with no dust contact. 43 Once emptied, gently tap or shake the container to release any excess dust. Do not overfill the bin above the max level line.! IMPORTANT: Before emptying the bin, make sure vacuum cleaner has been switched off. CLEANING THE PRE MOTOR FILTERS IMPORTANT! When using cleaning tools, the cleaner must be kept in the upright position, particularly when cleaning stairs. Hold unit while using hose or handle tube. Rotate the upper part of the dust bin to open. Take out the pre-motor filter. 3 Gently tap both filters to release 4 Wash both filter and sponge under warm water until any excess dust. the water runs clean. Remove excess water by shaking and leave to dry for 4 hours. Reassemble and refit filters to cleaner, only when they are completely dry. <40-6 -

CHANGING THE BELT OR BRUSHES CLEARING A BLOCKAGE If your cleaner is not picking up efficiently, the belt or brushes (or both) may need replacing, but first please make sure you have: IMPORTANT: Ensure the cleaner is Emptied the bin switched off, and remove the battery pack from the cleaner before attempting any Cleaned the filters maintenance. Checked for blockages Turn the cleaner over and remove rear 4 rollers and retaining screws. Hold the brush assembly and stretch the belt until the brush can be slotted back into the cleaner housing. IMPORTANT: Ensure the cleaner is switched off, and remove the battery pack from the cleaner before attempting any maintenance. Check the cleaning tools and hose for blockages. The hose can be removed at both ends. Remove the brush guard. 5 Rotate the brush to ensure free movement of the belt. Turn the cleaner over and rotate the brushes to identify any obstructions including hair. 3 Remove brush assembly and check for wear on the belt. Loop the new belt around the motor and brush channel. 6 Refit the brush guard with retaining screws and rear rollers.. Check for a blockage in the hose socket. Use a flexible rod to remove any obstruction. NOTE: If the brush gets blocked and stops rotating, switch off the cleaner, remove the battery pack from the cleaner and clear the blockage. If the brush has hair or thread wrapped around it, use scissors to clear. - 7 - *Certain models only

User checklist If your cleaner is not working properly run through the following checklist.. Is there enough charge in the battery to operate the cleaner? Check by pressing the charge status button, see User Manual P4.. Is the bin full or choked with fine dust? To empty the bin, see the User Manual on P6. 3. Is the hose blocked? To clear a blockage, see the User Manual on P7. 4. Is there a blockage in the cleaner base? To clear a blockage, see the User Manual on P7. 5. Are the filters blocked? To clean filters, see the User Manual on P6. 6. Are the brushes rotating correctly? To check the brushes, see the User Manual on P7. If there is any doubt call the Hoover Service Office for advice. They may be able to assist you over the telephone. A service charge will be made if the cleaner is examined and found to be in working order, has not been assembled in accordance with these instructions or has been used incorrectly. The battery cannot be charged?. No LED light. This may be a result of very long storage periods (over one year). Contact Hoover customer service to arrange battery replacement.. flashing 30seconds. This may be over charge current protection. Please only use the charger supplied with your cleaner to recharge. After year the customer is liable for the cost of a new battery. Subject to change without notice.
