WHAT HAPPENS? From September 26th 2015, in order to be placed on the European market, all products and systems used for heating, production and storage of hot water must comply with the MINIMUM ENERGY EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENT, presenting an energy label of the product and / or system. The units must respect the MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS of SEASONAL ENERGY PERFORMANCE (eco design compatibility) and SOUND POWER (eco acoustic compatibility). According to the following European Regulations which come into force: 811/2013: energy labeling of equipment for heating and domestic hot water production; 812/2013: energy labeling of equipment dedicated only to the production of domestic hot water; 813/2013: eco-design equipment for heating and for production of domestic hot water; 814/2013: eco-design equipment dedicated only to the production of hot water. 1
The Eco Design (rif. Reg. 813 and 814 of 2013 in implementation of the Directive 2009/125/CE) It establishes the minimum requirements for the products to be placed on the market, looking to the seasonal performance, emissions, and also to the maximum noise level (for heat pumps). Basically, the rule forces the manufacturers of the equipment involved to increase energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. It is related to: products for heating with nominal power 400 kw: boilers (gas, electric, gas oil); heat pumps (gas, electric); equipment for micro-chp (with maximum electrical power 50 kw) products for the production of sanitary hot water: Conventional water heaters: gas / diesel / electric; water heaters with renewable energy (solar / heat pump); hot water tanks (with capacity 2.000 liters). The PRODUCT Energy Labeling (ref. Reg. 811 and 812 of 2013 in implementation of the 2010/30/UE) Creates a labeling requirement for products with a descending scale energy ranging from A + + + to G and has the aim of encouraging the end user, making him more conscious and steering it towards efficient products It is related to : products for heating with nominal power 70 kw: boilers (gas, electric, gas oil); heat pumps (gas, electricity); equipment for micro-chp (with maximum electrical output 50 kw) products for the production of hot water nominal power 70 kw : Conventional water heaters: gas / diesel / electric; water heaters with renewable energy (solar / heat pump); hot water tanks (with a capacity 500 liters). The SYSTEM Energy Labeling (ref. Reg. 811 and 812 of 2013 2013 in implementation of the 2010/30/UE) It is related to: installations consisting of several devices in combination, such as a heat pump, coupled to a boiler and to a solar thermal system, which function as a single system and whose energy performance are a combination of those of the individual components These measures represent the most important initiative undertaken by the European Union to align the targets of the Kyoto Protocol (EU 20-20-20), which require the reduction of CO2 emissions by 20%, increase energy efficiency by 20 % and the increased use of renewable energy by 20%, all by 2020
Example of PRODUCT ENERGY LABEL : I. the name or brand of the manufacturer II. the name of the model of the supplier; III. the function of heating environment for applications, respectively medium and low temperature; IV. The seasonal energy efficiency class for the heating environment in standard climate conditions, respectively, for applications in low and medium temperature, determined in accordance with Annex II, point 1; the arrow indicating the class of seasonal energy efficiency of heating environment of the device for heating ambient with heat pump for applications in low and medium temperature is at the height of the tip of the arrow that indicates the relative energy efficiency class; V. the nominal thermal power, including any additional heating equipment, in kw, in normal climate, colder and warmer, respectively, for applications in low and medium temperature, rounded to the nearest integer; VI. map of temperatures in Europe bearing the three indicative temperature zones ; VII. the sound power level L WA, inside (if applicable) and outside, in db, rounded to the nearest integer; 3
