1. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING. KEEP AWAY FROM WATER. DANGER: To reduce the risk of death or injury by electric shock: 1. Always unplug HairMaster immediately after using. 2. Do not place or store HairMaster where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. 3. Do not use while bathing. 4. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquids. 5. Do not reach for a HairMaster that has fallen into water or other liquids. Unplug immediately. WARNING: To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire or injury to persons: 1. The HairMaster should never be left unattended when plugged in. 2. Close supervision is necessary when the HairMaster is used by, on or near children or invalids. 3. Use HairMaster only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer. 4. Never operate HairMaster if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or if it has been dropped into water or other liquids. Return HairMaster to a service center for examination and repair. 3
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. 6. Never block the air openings of the appliance or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hai, and the like. 7. Never drop or insert any object into opening. 8. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used. 9. Connect HairMaster to a properly grounded outlet only. See Grounding Instructions. 10. Do not direct hot air toward eyes or other heat-sensitive areas. 11. Do not exceed the rating of the receptacle outlet on the HairMaster. 12. Do not place towels etc. on the HairMaster. 13. Do not use HairMaster while sleeping or on sleeping persons! 14. Do not use HairMaster without the air filter. 15. Replace the air filter only while HairMaster is disconnected from the power circuit and while the motor fan has come to a complete stop. 16. Do not coil the sensor cable around the side arms. 17. Use the HairMaster only in clean, dry rooms at normal temperatures. 18. Keep the HairMaster dry! 19. Use only original OLYMP accessoires. 2. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Before installing the HairMaster, consult all applicable local regulations concerning the installation and use of electrical appliances. OLYMP will not be liable for any installation not performed by specially qualified personnel. 2.1 ASSEMBLY TOOLS - Hexagon screw driver (6mm) - Slit screw driver (slit 1mm wide/6mm long) 2.2 STAND ASSEMBLY - Insert the main tube into the roller base. - Secure with the washer and the screw with integrated lock washer. - Insert the end of telescopic tube with the compression spring approximately 4 to 5 inches (10 to 15 cm) into the main tube. WARNING: Inserting the telescopic tube too far into the main tube can result in serious injury! Do not insert the telescopic tube any further until the HairMaster head has been set into place! Spring tension! When the telescopic tube is pushed down too far into the main tube, the spring can build up inopportune tension that can cause the telescopic tube to shoot out unexpectedly with the danger of injury. Tighten the set screw only when the HairMaster head has been set into place. - Remove the screw from the stem on the base. - Set the HairMaster into place. - Secure with the set screw. - Fasten the HairMaster to the telescopic tube with the screw. - Set the cord holder into the two drill holes in the telescopic tube. - Loosen the set screw and adjust to the desired height. - Retighten the set screw to secure at desired height. 7 9 6
- To finish installation plug the sensor clip into the socket and clip firmly to the sensor holder. - Plug in the main. See IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS and GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS! - Use cord holder at mobile stand for cord storage. Do not wrap line cord around dryer. Allow the cord to hang or lie loose and straight at the point of entry into the HairMaster. Never allow the power supply cord to be pulled, twisted or severely bent. - Switch on the HairMaster at the main switch and the green control lamp will light up. 2.3 CORRECT USE The HairMaster is a combination of hair dryer and infra-red processor. It is suitable for all appropriate applications in the hairdressing salon such as hair drying, colouring, tinting, strand-colouring and all types of permanent waving. Misuse or incorrect operation can endanger persons, objects or the HairMaster itself. Read the entire instruction manual before using the HairMaster! 2.4 POSITIONING 3 inches The HairMaster should be positioned so that it is uniformly 3 inches above the head. Dangers of incorrect positioning 1. Risk of injury or burns. 2. Risk of irreparable damage to the hair. 3. Risk of bad results due to uneven heat distribution. 7
3. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS The HairMaster must be grounded. In case of an electrical short-circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing a path of low resistance for the electric current. HairMaster is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in compliance with all local codes and ordinances. DANGER - IMPROPER USE OF THE GROUNDIG PLUG CAN RESULT IN A RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. CHECK WITH A QUALIFIED ELECTRICAN OR SERVICE PERSONNEL IF YOU ARE IN DOUBT AS TO WHETHER THE PRODUCT IS PROPERLY GROUNDED. DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG PROVIDED WITH THE HairMaster, IF IT WILL NOT FIT THE OUTLET, HAVE A PROPER OUTLET INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN. If repair or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, ask a professional electrician for help. Replace a damaged cord immediately. Do not use HairMaster with a damaged cord. This HairMaster is for use on a circuit having a nominal rating of 120-volt and is factory equipped with a specific electric cord and plug to permit connection to a proper electric circuit. Make sure that the HairMaster is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No adapter should be used with this HairMaster. Do not modify the plug provided if it will not fit the outlet. Have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. If the HairMaster must be reconnected for use on a different type of electric circuit, the reconnection should be made by qualified service personnel. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a three-wire extension cord that has a three-blade grounding plug and a three-slot receptacle that will accept the plug on the HairMaster. Replace a damaged extension cord immediately. Do not use HairMaster with a damaged extension cord. 8

4. OPERATING INSTRACTIONS After the HairMaster has been positioned on the stand and no faults are evident on the HairMaster, please plug it into the socket and switch on the HairMaster with the green switch on the right hand side. 11

WARNING: The protective grill gets hot during operation. - Risk of burns. - Exhort your client not to touch the grill. 4.2 PREPARATIONS POSITIONING 14 3 inches The HairMaster should be positioned above the head at a distance of 3 inches (8 cm) between the scull and the protective grill. 12
SENSOR CLIP Using the waving program without the sensor clip can result in serious damage to the hair or head of the client. Never use the waving program without the sensor clip! CLIENT CONTROL SWITCH The client control switch works with a temperature higher than 104 F (40 C) in the applications wave, drying and care. When pressing the client control switch in the program wave the processing time is adapted automatically to the reduced temperature. SIDE ARMS - For drying long hair, the side arms can be lowered. The supplementary heating for the neck area is activated automatically. - For a voluminous hairstyle, the side arms can be extended to the sides. WARNING: Always position HairMaster over the head at the optimal distance of 3 inches between the skull and the side arm grills. When folding up and down or extending the side arms, hold the side arms in a way to prevent your hands from getting burned or caught. IMPORTANT: Warn your client to sit still and avoid sudden movements of her head. 13

5. ACCESSORIES MASTERCLIPS MasterClips are specially developed combs and brushes which are clipped onto the protective grill of the HairMaster ULTRA and hold the hair in the desired form while drying. The combs and brushes can be clipped in any required position between the struts of the main grill and secured by turning. When clipping the MasterClips onto the grill of the hood there is the risk of burning the hands! Do not fasten MasterClips on the side-arms since the gap between heater and MasterClip socket is too narrow! Application If desired, multiple combs can be clipped to the main protective grill prior to styling. 23
- Position the HairMaster ULTRA over the head. The distance between the HairMaster and the skull of the client should be at least 3 inches. - Spread the hair evenly the combs. - Further combs can be clipped on if required. - The bruhes are particularly suitable for the fringe and temple areas. - Select the program DRYING. 24

ERROR MESSAGES INDICATING A DEFECT IN THE APPLIANCE - PROFESSIONAL HELP IS NEEDED! DANGER: IF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING ERROR MESSAGES APPEARS, SWITCH OFF THE HairMaster! CONTACT AUTHORIZED SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE FOR EXAMINATION AND REPAIR. DO NOT CONTINUE TO USE THE HAIRMASTER. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH! 26
7. USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: Do not open the protective cover to the HairMaster or attempt to repair the HairMaster yourself. Consult an authorized service representative. Your HairMaster is virtually maintenance free.for proper performance,the air filter should be changed and the HairMaster should be cleaned in accordance with the following instructions. If you suspect that the HairMaster is functioning improperly or is in need of repair, stop use immediately and unplug, then, consult an authorized service representative. CONTINUED USE OF HAIRMASTER THAT IS FUNCTIONING IMPROPERLY MAY RESULT IN SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. 7.1 CHANGING THE AIR FILTER WARNING: REPLACE AIR FILTER ONLY WHILE HairMaster IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER CIRCUIT AND WHILE THE MOTOR FAN HAS COME TO COMPLETE STOP. DANGER OF OVERHEATING IN CASE OF HEAVILY CONTAMINATED FLEECE! DO NOT USE WITHOUT THE AIR FILTER: - The air filter should be changed at least every 6 weeks. - Use only original OLYMP air filters! 27
7.2 CLEANING - Switch off the HairMaster and allow to cool down. This might take up to 30 minutes. - Unplug the HairMaster. - Clean the surface of the casing with a mild household cleaning agent. Use a soft dry cloth to clean painted, plated and plastic surfaces. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. DO NOT leave the surface wet. - Please note that different hair chemicals (particularly direct action dyes) may leave stains on the surface which can then no longer be removed. 8. STORAGE CAUTION! - Always unplug the HairMaster immediately after use! - The HairMaster should always be stored disconnected and in a safe, dry location, out of the reach of children. - Always use cord holder at mobile stand for cord storage. - Do not wrap line cord around dryer. Allow the cord to hang or lie loose and straight at the point of entry into the HairMaster. - Never allow the power supply cord to be pulled, twisted, or severely bent. 9.
