Day 5 10.00am 10.45am Visit to Penshurst Place and gardens Depart with your private driver-guide A visit to Penshurst Place and gardens Built in 1341 and described as the grandest and most perfectly preserved example of a fortified manor house in all England, take a tour of the 10 rooms open to the public including the impressive medieval Baron s Hall. The Gardens at Penshurst Place are among the oldest in private ownership. With early records dating back to 1346, they are considered to be one of the most beautiful in England. It is set in magnificent gardens that feature the formal Italian Gardens, a 38 acre lake, a yew maze and a water maze.
