ASSEMBLY PARTS Remove all contents from the packaging. A The packaging includes the following items: A) 1 Heater head B) 1 Weighted Base C) 1 Decorative Cone D) 1 Top Pole E) 1 Middle Pole (inside the bottom pole) F) 1 Base Pole G) 2 Heater Head Connector Screws H) 3 Base Bolts I) 1 Assembly Wrench (Not Pictured) J) 1 Allen Wrench (Not Pictured) D G NOTE: The screws, bolts, assembly wrench, and Allen wrench are wrapped in a plastic bag and placed on the underside of the Styrofoam next to the weighted base. E C F H B 5

BASIC ASSEMBLY To properly assemble this heater you need the supplied assembly wrench and Allen wrench (or one of your own). Refer to the parts diagram on page 5 while assembling the heater. 1) First, attach the base pole (F) to the weighted base (B) using the 3 base bolts (H). Once you secure the base pole to the weighted base (B), remove the middle pole (E) and height adjuster from the bottom pole (pull and turn the height adjuster clockwise). Place the decorative cone (C) over the base pole (F) to cover the bolts on the base and reattach the middle pole and height adjuster. 2) Next, place the power cord attached to the heater head (A) through the middle of the top pole (D). The top pole (D) will have two smaller screw holes located at the top. Align the small screw holes with the holes on the bottom of the heater head. Use the small heater head connector screws (G) to secure the heater head (A) to the top pole (D). 3) Now, find the middle pole (E) and place the power cord through the middle of the pole, bottom pole, and weighted base. Screw the top of the middle pole (E) into the bottom of the top pole (D). 6

4) Before using the heater, align the power cord with the cutout on the weighted base and secure using the attached fasteners on the bottom of the weighted base. There is one fastener located near the middle of the weighted base, and another fastener located near the cutout at the end of the base. Place the cord through each fastener and tighten to secure the cord to the base. After securing the power cord to the fasteners, place the rubber ring located around the power cord in the cutout on the weighted base. Properly attaching the power cord to the weighted bases will allow the heater to be moved easily and prevent damage to the power cord. 7

PLACING INSIDE PATIO TABLE UMBRELLA HOLE If desired, the Soleus Air Electric Patio Heater can be placed in a standard 2 umbrella hole found in many patio tables. This heater may not fit non-standard smaller umbrella holes found on some tables. Before placing the unit inside the umbrella hole in patio table, unplug the unit and let it cool completely. First, unfasten the power cord under the base so that it is loose and able to be removed. Now, remove the middle pole (E) to the top pole (D). Once the middle pole (E) is apart from the top pole (D), remove the power cord from inside the base. Next, place the base and base pole directly under the umbrella hole in your patio table. Now, place the rest of the assembled heater through the umbrella hole in the patio table, place the power cord through the middle pole (E) and base pole (F) underneath the umbrella hole, and attach the top pole (D) to the middle (E) pole. Before plugging the heater in for use, align and fasten the power cord with the cutout and secure using the fasteners on the bottom of the base. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Place the heater on a firm, level surface and plug into a grounded 120V 60Hz power outlet. Only operate the heater when it is in the upright position and the base is attached. Refer to the diagram below. The HP1-15-50 Electric Patio Heater is equipped with three heat settings; Low, Medium, and High. To operate the heater on low, press the red switch on the right. This switch will have a single white dot near the top. Once the low switch is pressed, the smaller bottom heating element will glow and radiate heat. To operate the heater on medium, press the red switch on the left. This switch will have two white dots near the top. Once the medium switch is pressed, the larger top heating element will glow and radiate heat. To operate the heater on high, press both the low and medium red switches. This will cause both the bottom and top heating elements to glow and radiate heat. HEATER CONTROLS 8

MAINTENANCE Unplug the unit and let it cool completely. To keep the heater clean, the outer shell may be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. You may use a mild detergent if necessary. After cleaning, dry the unit with a soft cloth. DO NOT use alcohol, gasoline, abrasive powders, furniture polish, or rough brushes to clean the heater. This may cause damage or deterioration to the surface of the heater. Although this heater is outdoor approved, DO NOT immerse the heater in water for your safety. Wait until the unit is completely dry before use. WHEN THE HEATER IS NOT IN USE When not using the heater for an extended period of time, place the electrical cord inside the decorative cone that covers the bottom part of the pole. To do so, simply lift the cone and wrap the electrical cord around the bottom pole. When the cord is completely wrapped around the pole, slide the cone back down covering the cord and bottom of the pole. STORAGE If the heater will not be used for a long period of time, store it in a cool, dry location when not in use. To prevent dust and dirt build-up, use the original packaging to repack the unit. TROUBLESHOOTING If the heater will not operate, please check the following before seeking repair of service: Check if the power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet, if not, plug in. Check if electricity to the main fuse is working. Make certain the power switches are turned on. If not, choose a setting. 9
