Dear friends and colleagues, On behalf of the Department of Landscape Management, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Mendel University in Brno, we request the pleasure of your participation in the third year of conference PUBLIC RECREATION AND LANDSCAPE PROTECTION HAND IN HAND... organized under the auspices of doc. Dr. Ing. Petr Horáček, the Dean of the Faculty of forestry and Woodtechnology, Mendel University in Brno, in cooperation with the Department of Environmentalistics and Natural Resources of the Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies MENDELU in Brno, AOPK ČR (Agency for Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection of the Czech Republic) Administration of the Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area, Administration of Caves of the Czech Republic, Training Forest Enterprise Masaryk Forest Křtiny, Czech Hydrometeorological Institute branch Brno, Czech Society of Landscape Engineers, Local Action Group Moravian Karst o.s. and Tourist authority South Moravia The conference is going to take place on May 2 4, 2012 in Křtiny.

The main topics of the conference: Utilization of natural phenomena to support regional development, opportunities for grants and subsidies Components of leisure and tourist potential of a territory character of landscape, geological formations, woody vegetation, water elements in the landscape and others Damage to parts of landscape by leisure business examples of solution, experience, good practice Nature-friendly ways of tourism and leisure Leisure and tourism using transport networks New forms and trends of rural tourism Leisure and tourism usage of the territory and the effect of impact assessment on the environment (EIA, SEA, biological assessment) Compensations for owners for the use of territory for leisure damage removal, maintenance Safe and responsible movement of leisure travellers in the territories where the regime without interventions is in place Tourism and caves Presentation of and access to protected areas for handicapped people Up-to-date research methods, education, interpretation in the field of natural heritage and tourism and leisure Geopsychology as one of the ways of viewing the utilization of natural or close to nature space for leisure and tourist activities

The papers will be reviewed and the best papers will be recommended for publication in Journal of Landscape Management. We look forward to your participation. Conference Organizational Committee Organization Instructions Conference languages (including full versions of papers): Czech, English, Slovak Please, prepare the presentations in Powerpoint in English. Interpreting services will be provided. Contributions, which will be prepared in the Czech and Slovak languages, should include the abstract in English at the beginning and enlarged English summary at the end of the text. Participation Fee (preliminary estimation) 3 000 Czk when paid by 15 March 2012 including (the date when the fee has to be credited to our account) 3 500 Czk for later payments, 1 May 2011 at latest 4 000 Czk payment on the spot The first author of a presentation is entitled to a 200 Czk reduction on the conference fee. Employees or members of organizing institutions gain a reduction of 200 Czk and students gain a reduction of 400 Czk. The above mentioned reductions can be cumulated. Accommodation Accommodation can be ordered directly at the place of the conference in the Křtiny Chateau. The price of accommodation is not included in the advance fee as accommodation is to be managed by each participant individually these are the prices for conference participants: 525 Czk/person in a twin room, 850 Czk/person separately in a room.
