Your Stick Mixer Set Congratulations on the purchase of your new Stick Mixer Set. Before first using your new Stick Mixer Set, it is most important that you read and follow the instructions in this use and care booklet, even if you feel you are familiar with this type of appliance. Your attention is drawn particularly to the section dealing with IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS. Find a safe and convenient place to keep this booklet handy for future reference. This appliance has been designed to operate from a standard domestic power outlet. It is not intended for industrial or commercial use. How to Use Your Stick Mixer Set Before first use, carefully unpack the unit and remove all packaging material. Wipe the handle with a warm damp cloth. Wash the shaft and mixing blade in warm soapy water. Be careful not to submerge the body above the shaft. Dry thoroughly. Pay careful attention to the sharp blades. Your new Stick Mixer Set is great for preparing a variety of foods and drinks including the following: A variety of mixed drinks. Chopping fruits and vegetables. Producing emulsions, eg. mayonnaises, sauces, baby foods, creams, etc. Making pureed vegetables for soups, baby foods, etc. Preparing cocktails, shakes and smoothies. Note: Always use a high-sided mixing container to avoid spillage while blending. IMPORTANT The appliance is designed for short periods of use: do not operate for longer than 60 seconds at a time and rest 5 minutes before next use. The Stick Mixer Set performs tasks in seconds not minutes. Stop Blender to check consistency during operation; restart only if necessary. Any time you feel the unit becoming too hot, turn it off until cool. Tips and Techniques Move the Blender up and down in the mixture in a circular motion unless a recipe calls for a specific mixing procedure. A strong suction can occur if the Blender is allowed to rest on the bottom of the container while in operation. When mixing powdery dry ingredients with liquid, turn off the Blender about halfway through the mixing time. Scrape down sides of the container and the blending shaft before mixing again.

Watch the consistency of foods while using the Stick Mixer Set and check the blade and blade housing for clogged food. Turn the power off and use a rubber scraper to carefully remove any obstruction. DO NOT use the Stick Mixer Set in a container that is still over heat on the stove. Wash, trim and peel (if desired) fresh foods before blending or mixing. Cut firm or fibrous foods into 1cm to 1.5cm pieces and softer foods into 1.5cm to 2.5cm pieces. Most foods require some liquid for effective circulation through the blades. Soft, juicy foods will need little liquid; dry foods require more. Add liquid in small amounts until desired consistency is obtained. This product is not intended for continued use over 60 seconds at a time. Using the Chopper Attachment 1. Place ingredients such as dried fruits, nuts or vegetables into the chopper bowl. Replace lid and twist into position. Care and Cleaning Be sure that the unit is turned off and unplugged before cleaning. It is recommended that you wash the Stick Mixer Set immediately after using it. DO NOT PLACE THE UNIT IN THE DISHWASHER. Clean the surface with a warm damp cloth. DO NOT IMMERSE the motor end of the Blender, the cord or plug in water or any other liquid. It may be necessary to wash the blades in warm soapy water to thoroughly remove any food residue. A soft nylon brush may be helpful. DO NOT use any abrasive cleaners. Note: If the cord supplied with the appliance becomes damaged, discontinue use. Repair should be undertaken only by a qualified electrician. 2. Place the chopper bowl on a level surface. 3. Remove the shaft from the Stick Mixer Set then position the Stick Mixer Set above the collar of the chopper attachment. 4. Press down firmly and turn clockwise until the two pieces lock tightly. 5. Plug the cord into a power outlet, switch on outlet and commence operation.
