GENERAL INFORMATION AGPRO Bentazone is a selective post emergent contact action herbicide for the control of certain broadleaved weeds in some crops. Small weeds (2 4 leaf stage) are more readily controlled than more mature plants. Ensure all parts of the target weeds are covered. AGPRO Bentazone will not control weeds that germinate after application. Do not apply if rain is expected within 8 hours, or if frost is expected or if the foliage is wet. Do not add wetting agents unless specified. APPLICATION Apply using conventional spray equipment with thorough agitation. Apply the required rate of AGPRO Bentazone in the amounts of water specified for each crop. Low volume or CDA application is not recommended. MIXING Add the required quantity of AGPRO Bentazone to a half filled spray tank then complete filling. Maintain agitation throughout filling and application. WEEDS CONTROLLED Black nightshade, Chamomiles, Chickweed, Cleavers, Giant buttercup, Onehunga weed, Redroot, Shepherd s purse, Spurrey, Stinking mayweed, Storksbill, Thorn apple and Wild turnip. WITHHOLDING PEROID It is an offence for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the New Zealand (Maximum Residue Limits of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standards. CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY The use of AGPRO Bentazone being beyond the control of the manufacturer, no warranty expressed or implied, beyond that cover under the Fair Trading Act is given by AGPRO NZ Limited regarding suitability, fitness or efficiency for any purpose for which it is used by the buyer, whether in accordance with the directions or not and AGPRO NZ Limited accepts no responsibility for any consequence whatsoever resulting from the use of this product.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE It is an offence for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the New Zealand (Maximum Residue Limits of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standards. CROP TIMING RATE WATER RATE Cereals After 4 true leaves 1.92 170 500 (GS 14) REMARKS Apply in combination with sodium salt formulations of MCPB, dichlorprop or mecoprop at recommended rates. AGPRO Bentazone + MCPB may be applied to cereals undersown with clover. Clover seed crops In late Winter/early Spring when weeds are small Minimum 500 Use high water rates and large droplets to ensure penetration into the growth of the target weeds. Add a suitable non-ionic surfactant. Paraquat, applied at label rates at least 2 weeks prior to AGPRO Bentazone will improve results provided weeds are actively growing at the time f AGPRO Bentazone application. Spraying during warm weather gives best results. Dwarf beans Grass seed crops When the crop has 1 2 trifoliate leaves, weeds are at the cotyledon to 4 leaf stage When weeds are at a susceptible stage 1.44 2.88 Minimum 500 Some transient leaf scorch may occur but yield is unlikely to be affected. Do NOT apply to crops before 1 trifoliate (true) leaf stage and avoid hot conditions (above 21 C). Use the higher rates on more mature weeds. Add a suitable non-ionic surfactant to enhance activity on Thorn apple and Hairy nightshade. Ensure thorough coverage of weeds. Add a suitable non-ionic surfactant. Spraying during warm weather gives best results. Lucerne During Autumn 1.44 plus 2 2,4-DB (40% a.i.) OR 3.84 alone New pasture When clover has 1 2 trifoliate (true) leaves and weeds are at the 4 6 leaf stage 2.88 For control of Nodding thistle and Storksbill AGPRO Bentazone may be applied with MCPB at recommended label rates as a tank mix.

CROP TIMING RATE Onions After Onions have 3 leaves. Weeds are seedlings. WATER RATE 330 550 REMARKS Apply when Onions are waxy and healthy. Do NOT apply when soil is waterlogged. Do NOT add surfactant. Do NOT apply when Onions are damaged by hail, frost, heavy rain, wind etc. Do NOT apply other herbicides for 10 days before or after AGPRO Bentazone application. Pasture infested with Giant buttercup Weeds at rosette stage to just before flower stalk elongation. End of August to mid- September in most regions Peas When crop has 1 2 trifoliate leaves and weeds are at the cotyledon to 4 leaf stage. Potatoes When Cleavers are visible and prior to crop emergence Soya beans Turf When crop has 1 2 trifoliate leaves and weeds are at the cotyledon to 4 leaf stage. October to early November 680 m 1 5 days after MCPA treatment 1.92 plus MCPB (38.5% a.i.) at 2.5 2.88 l/ha OR 28.8 ml/100 square metres in 3 5 litres water. 250 Remove grazing stock and allow pasture to freshen up for 5 10 days. Apply a potassium salt formulation of MCPA at 4 (37.5% a.i.), then apply AGPRO Bentazone 1 5 days later. To allow full effect of treatment, do NOT graze for 7 14 days. Retreatment in following years will be required to deplete the soil seed bank. AGPRO Bentazone will control Giant buttercup that is resistant to MCPA. Suitable for use on labelled crops undersown with peas. Application can be made as a tank mix with metribuzin at label rates. Use a pre-plant incorporated herbicide to control grass weeds. Some scorch of Soya bean foliage may occur but symptoms will disappear and yield will not be adversely affected. A second spray in the Autumn will reduce the problem for next season. Apply using specialist equipment e.g. Lawnboy.
