Important This appliance is a class 3 appliance intended for installation in a kitchen unit. Output of the hob (Hs) 4 x 1.6 = 6.4 kw (Mn = 465 g/h, propane/butane) or, in the case of the DUFU (dual fuel) model: Output of the hob (Hs) 3 x 1.6 = 4.8 kw (Mn = 465 g/h, propane/butane) 1 x 800W (230V AC / 3.5 A) Output of the grill (Hs) 1.4 kw (Mn = 100 g/h, propane/butane) Output of the oven (Hs) 1.1 kw (Mn = 80 g/h, propane/butane) The appliance requires 12 V DC to power any internal light and the timed spark ignition. The pressure regulators used between the gas cylinder and the appliance must comply with the categories in the following table: Appliance category Supply pressure Gas I 3+ 28-30/37 mbar butane/propane I 3B 30 mbar butane I 3B/P 28-30 mbar butane/propane I 3B/P 30 mbar butane/propane I 3P 28-30 mbar propane I 3B 50 mbar butane I 3B/P 50 mbar butane/propane It is also possible to operate a 30 mbar appliance in campers with a 50 mbar gas system, but only if a 50/30 mbar primary pressure regulator is pre-fitted.!! The user must read these operating instructions to familiarise himself/herself with use of the appliance. The appliance fitter must hand these operating instructions to the user. We recommend concluding a service contract. If the gas tap becomes sluggish or jammed, then it must either be replaced or the affected tap removed from the chamber, cleaned in benzene and lubricated with a special gas tap grease, e.g. type "Staburgas no. 32" from the Klüber company in Munich. This work must be carried out by a professional gas technician. The appliance must be installed by an authorized technician! Particular attention must be paid to the EN 1949 standard in addition to the usual regulations! This appliance must be installed and connected according to the applicable installation conditions. Special attention must be paid to suitable ventilation. Before connecting the appliance, ensure that the local conditions (gas type and gas pressure) match the appliance settings. The gas type and gas pressure for this appliance are indicated on an information label (or on the identification plate). Gas-bearing parts and the connected exhaust lines (waste gas pipe) must be inspected by an expert before the initial start-up and at intervals of 2 years in accordance with the applicable standards, in particular EN 1949 (in Germany also in accordance with DVGW Worksheets G 607 and G 608). 2

The operator is responsible for having the necessary inspections conducted. S/he must be notified in writing of the inspection requirement by the technician who installs the appliance. The appliance may be used only for cooking, baking and grilling under the conditions specified elsewhere in these instructions. Under no circumstances may it be used for other purposes (e.g. heating, etc.). Use of the appliance can result in the accumulation of humidity or heat in the installation location. Make sure that the kitchen is well-ventilated: keep the normal ventilation openings open or provide for a mechanical ventilation device. Intensive or prolonged used of the appliance may require additional ventilation, e.g. opening a window or operation of the mechanical ventilation device at a higher setting. A sign must be fitted above the cooker, stating that the closable vent must be opened while the cooker is in use, and that the burners must not be used for heating. The sign must be clearly visible. IMPORTANT: When using gas kitchen appliances, the closable vents in the installation location must be open. Naked burners must not be used for heating! IMPORTANT: THE APPLIANCE MUST BE INSTALLED BY AN AUTHORIZED TECHNICIAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE STANDARDS (EN 1949). THE ELECTRIC COMPONENT (IN THE CASE OF THE COE DUFU MODELS) MUST BE INSTALLED BY AN AUTHORISED TECHNICIAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE REGULATIONS (IN PARTICULAR EN 60335, EN 1648). IMPORTANT: TO PREVENT ANY RISK OF ACCIDENT, IT IS NECESSARY THAT THE APPLIANCE BE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO THESE INSTRUCTIONS. IMPROPER INSTALLATION WILL VOID THE WARRANTY. ANY MODIFICATION TO THE APPLIANCE MAY BE DANGEROUS AND IS PROHIBITED! 1. ROOM VENTILATION Any room in which one or more appliances are to be installed must have one or more vents enabling fresh air to enter. One or more vents must be located above the appliance to ensure sufficient disposal of combustion products and sufficient fresh air supply for the user. These vents must comply with the requirements specified in the EN 1949, EN 1646-1 and EN 721 standards. The user must check and, if necessary, clean these vents from time to time (for example, they must be cleaned of snow or slush during the winter). 3

The following applicable regulations must be observed when installing the gas appliance EN 1645-1 EN 1646-1 EN 1648 EN 1949 EN 60335 EN 721 (In Germany, the 1988 Technical Rules Governing Liquid Gas, and the rules specified in the DVGW worksheets G 607 (vehicles) and/or G 608 (boats) must also be observed). 2. CONNECTING THE APPLIANCE TO THE GAS SUPPLY Only gas-tight connection fittings may be used to connect the appliance to the gas supply line. The pipes for connecting the appliance should be made of galvanized iron or copper. These pipes must be used with a gas-tight connection fitting. After the connection has been established, the gas lines should be checked by applying a soap solution to the connecting points; any leaks can be detected by the formation of bubbles. IMPORTANT: DURING INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION OF THE APPLIANCE, MAKE SURE THAT THE GAS INLET PIPE IS NOT TWISTED, PULLED OR OTHERWISE STRAINED. 3. GAS CYLINDERS Use gas cylinders that are commercially available in the country where the appliance was purchased. The type of gas is indicated clearly on the package and on the indelible type plate on the back of the appliance. THE USE OF DIFFERENT GAS PRESSURES OR GAS TYPES FROM THOSE SPECIFIED IN THE REGULATIONS CAN RESULT IN IRREGULAR OPERATION OF THE APPLIANCE; THEREFORE, THE MANUFACTURER SHALL ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPROPER USE OF THE APPLIANCE. Always comply with the following instructions: The gas cylinder, including valves and pressure reducers (regulators), must be installed vertically in the cabinet provided; the cylinders must be freely accessible. It must be possible to replace the gas cylinder easily and without obstructions. THE GAS CYLINDER VALVE SHOULD BE CLOSED WHEN NOT IN USE. 4

CAUTION! The following safety precautions must be taken when replacing the gas cylinder: a) Close the gas taps (turn rotary knob to 0 position). b) Close the shut-off valve for the appliance in the vehicle. c) Make sure that there are no naked flames or glowing embers nearby. d) Close the valve of the gas cylinder to be replaced. e) Unscrew the pressure reducer (regulator) from the empty gas cylinder, remove the cylinder from the cabinet and insert a new cylinder then reverse the above procedure to connect the new cylinder. f) Check seals with a soap solution as described above. g) Ignite the burners and check for proper functioning; in case of problems, contact a specialized technician. 3.1 GAS CYLINDER CABINET The cabinet for the gas cylinder must be large enough to hold the specified type of gas cylinder with the pressure regulator attached. In Germany, it must have a width and depth of at least 325 mm and a height of at least 620 mm. 4. VISUAL CHECK OF FLAME a) The flame must burn steadily. It must be primarily blue, and display clear contours. b) If the flame does not burn steadily, check to make sure that the inlet and outlet openings are unobstructed. If not, remove any obstructions. c) If in doubt, consult a specialized gas technician. 5. POWER SUPPLY AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTION: The appliance requires 12 V DC to power any internal light and the timed spark ignition. The electrical circuit must be protected with a 3 A safety fuse (not included). The model COE... DUFU also requires a 230 V AC / 10 A power supply (rated current 3.5 A). The connection terminals are on the rear of the appliance. A dual-conductor connection cable should be used for the appliance s 12 V connection. The + conductor is red. The two poles are marked + and on the terminal. Make sure to use the correct polarity when connecting the cable! A triple-conductor 230 V AC connection cable should be used for the model COE DUFU. This connection cable must comply with the applicable regulations. The cross- 5

section of each cable must be at least 1.0 mm 2. All three poles are marked with the appropriate symbols on the terminal. THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM (IN THE CASE OF THE COE DUFU MODELS) MUST BE INSTALLED BY AN AUTHORISED TECHNICIAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE REGULATIONS. NEVER CONNECT THE 12 V DC CONNECTION TERMINAL TO THE 230 V AC MAINS NETWORK. THIS WOULD NOT ONLY DESTROY THE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, BUT WOULD ALSO ENDANGER THE USER. 6. GAS LEAKS When inspecting for gas leaks, we recommend the use of an electronic type-tested gas detector. In the event of a fault, the valve of the gas supply network must be closed. Consult your fitter, dealer or specialised technician. 6

7. FITTING THE APPLIANCE 7.1 MOUNTING THE APPLIANCE For the installation of the appliance, there must be a free space as indicated in Fig. 1, depending on the individual model (see type plate on appliance). Fig. 1 The installation location is limited only as follows: The appliance must rest on a firm and stable base with mounted in the cabinet. The appliance must be firmly fixed to the front of the cabinet using the 4 screws supplied. Do not use the gas lines, taps or parts of the burner as fixing aids. 7

Fig. 2 The following minimum distances shown in the sketch must always be observed when installing the appliance. a: The minimum distance (a) between the burner edge and side moveable walls made of flammable materials is 200 mm. If a flame guard is used, the distance between it and the side moveable wall must be at least 3 mm. In that event, the minimum distance between the burner edge and the moveable wall is 100 mm. In respect of the COE appliance, the glass burner cover is considered to be a rear flame guard when raised. b: The minimum distance between the cooker and flammable fittings above it (wall cabinets etc.) is b = 500 mm. DO NOT INSTALL THE APPLIANCE NEAR HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MATERIALS. 8
