Portable Air Conditioner HSC-11 User's Manual Thank you for purchasing this Airrex Portable Air Conditioner. Please read the instructions thoroughly before operating. After reading the instructions, please keep them in a safe place accessible to all users. Ensure you read the 'safety precautions' in advance and use the product correctly. The product is specified for use with a power supply of 115v ~, 60Hz. This manual includes the product warranty. Specifications and contents of this manual may be changed without prior notice, in accordance with our commitment to product quality improvement, design and control.

These precautions are designed to facilitate safe operation and prevent unit damage. There are two classifications of safety precaution listed in the box below. Possiblity of death or severe injury in the event of mishandling. Possiblity of injury and /or material damage in the event of mishandling. Explanation of Symbols Indicates- prohibited. Indicate mandatory procedure. Indicate disassembly prohibition. WARNING Do not use damaged power cord, plug or loose outlet. Do not bend or crush electric cable. (risk of electric shock or fire) When in use, the Air Conditioner should be on a flat surface. Never remove the plug from the socket by pulling the mains lead. Never touch the plug with wet hands. (cause of electric shock, short circuit or ignition and/or fire) 3

Ensure both plug and socket is clean and free from dust when using. WARNING Ensure you hold the power plug properly when either plugging in or unplugging. Do not overload the dedicated power socket with other equipment. Never use with a damaged power lead, plug or loose wall socket. (this can cause electric shock, short circuiting or fire) In lightening storms, turn off the unit and disconnect from the power supply. Disconnect from power supply when the unit is not being used for long periods. Never spray water directly onto the unit nor attempt to clean it with any solvents or flammable liquids. (this could cause electric shock or fire) When the unit is in operation, never spray with insectorside or combustible sprays. When the unit is in use, never put fingers or foreign substances into air exit or inlet. (Especially, be careful to prevent children from being hurt by putting their fingers in the unit.) Make sure to connect the unit with outlet with ground terminal. (there is a risk of electric shock) Do not place the aircon close to the electric socket (risk of fire) Never attempt to connect the unit to other electrical equipment and electric heaters, or disassemble repair or remodel unit. (contact service centre if the unit is in need of repair since in these circustances there could be a risk of electric shock, breakdown or possible fire) Use specific socket as below. (to prevent fire & electric shock) 4

Do not place the heater close to the electric socket (risk of fire) WARNING Do not install, use or place any combustible liquids or gases near the product. (risk of fire or explosion) <HSC-11H > Never place combustible objects on the product such as vinyl and plastic items. (can cause a risk of fire) Never place the unit near combustible products such as curtains, carpets etc. This can cause a fire. Never put hands or objects into the main body of the product.never touch it immediately after use (risk of fire, burns or electric shock) Never use the unit in places such as bathrooms, shower rooms, near swimming pools or anywhere near water. (electrocution and / or electric leakage can easily occur) Never move the product whilst it is switched on. Always turn it off and allow it to cool down before touching. Do not use the unit other than for its intended use. (do not use for drying clothing or for keeping animals or plants warm etc.) Do not use the product whilst sleeping or away from the premises. 5

CAUTION Prevent water from entering the inside of the air conditioner. (There is a risk of electric shock) Do not use the unit for a long time in air tight spaces where there are infants, the elderly or infirm. (Open the window frequently for ventilation) Do not allow direct air flow onto people, animals or plants. (be harmful to human body and also can have adverse effect on animals and plants) Do not use the unit for other purposes other than for controlling indoor temperatures. (Do not use the unit for preservation of precision instruments, foods, animals and plants and cosmetics as this can cause deterioration) Do not place heavy objects on the product. (can cause breakdown or electrical shock and possible injury should objects fall from the machine) Install the unit away from direct sunlight, heat other equipment and moisture. (Can decrease cooling effect and cause electric shock) 6

CAUTION When in use, do not lean the unit more than 2. Clean and handle the unit only when unplugged from mains supply and the fan has stopped rotating. (Beware electric shock) For repair or service contact the company from which the unit was purchased or nearest service centre. In the event of any strange sounds, burning smells or smoke from the air conditioner, turn off the unit and remove plug from the mains immediately. Contact your service centre. Do not touch hot parts whilst in use - do not place hands on the unit as it gets very hot during its heating operation. Always turn it off and allow it to cool before handling. Children must be kept away from the heater. Do not clean the product before disconnecting from power and allowing it to cool down. <HSC-11H> <HSC-11H> 7

Keep heater away from other electric domestic appliances (They could get damaged due to high heat) CAUTION <HSC-11H> Install the product at places that are visible to people. (frequently observe the product for safety) Install the product at places where users always reside and be sure to equip fire extinguisher. Always leave a clear space of at least 20cm from the left, right and rear panels of the unit. The unit must also have at least 1.5m clear space above it. Never put any obstacles nearer than 1.5m to the front of the unit. Use the unit in places with easy access to power sockets and that are well ventilated. Never use connecting terminals in the power lead. Always directly connect the unit to the power. 8

Control Panel Functions 6 5 1 2 3 4 1 POWER ON/OFF COOL MODE : If you psh POWER button, the fan and compressor both operate, and On Lamp is lighten. HEAT MODE : If you push POWER button, you can select ON/OFF. At HEAT mode, you can't use FAN, Timer, and Swing fucntions. The model HSC-1100H has a tilt sensor inside, so when the product is leaning, the prdouct is Off automatically. 2 FAN speed control (COOL mode only) When the product operates first, the Fan speed is HIGH. If you want to control the fan speed, push FAN button and you can select HIGH/ LOW. 3 Off Timer The Off timer fuction can be set only when the product is On. The set time is shown as below LED light. 1hr : 2hr : 3hr : 4hr : Off timer sets and by passing 1hr, the LED is Off from left end one by one. For example, after set 3hr, if 1hr is passed, the status of LED is as below. (At the first time : 3hr) (after passing 1hr) If the set time is pased all, the operation is stop. 4 Swing of Duct (COOL mode only) If you push the SWING button, the duct for cold air moves right and left, and puch the button again, it's stop. 5 Operation mode change When the product is Off, if you push MODE button for 5sec. the operation mode is changed. (COOL mode HEAT mode) 6 Water full (only in COOL mode) Drain water bucket can be filled with drawin water. At that time, the compressor operation is Off automatically. Take the water bucket out, and throw away the drain water and place the water bucket at the original palce and use air conditioner. 11

1. Water Full (COOL mode only) Display It shows the drain water bucket is full with drain water. If the water full lamp is On, the operation of compressor is Off automatically. In this case, take the water bucket out and throw away the water, and place the water bucket at the original place and use air conditioner again. Relating to use Close windows or doors while operating. - When using the air conditioner with windows or doors open, heating and cooling capacity decreases. - When using the air conditioner for a long time, frequently open the window for ventilation. 1. This unit is single phase, 115V~, 60Hz. Ensure connection to a regulated and grounded power supply. 2. Use in a safe place. 3. Do not tilt the unit more than 30 or let it fall down (While operating, keep the unit level, however, in an unavoidable case, use it after fixing its gradient at less than 2 ). 4. Ensure use of standard fuse. 5. Keep distance of more than 50cm from air inlet so as not to inhibit air intake. 6. If filter or heat exchanger is covered with dust, cooling capacity decreases. Therefore, frequently clean filter or heat exchanger. 7. Use this unit indoors, and do not expose to direct sunlight. 8. Do not use this unit to deliver other heavy units or to carry people. 12
