isopv and AGH-PV Ground fault detector for ungrounded soalr arrays and isolation tester prior to array startup Description Designed specifically for photovoltaic systems, BENDER's isopv ground detector provides early indication of ground faults before leakage current may even be present. The isopv is specifically designed for PV systems and detects both AC and DC ground faults by monitoring the system's insulation resistance. The isopv's digital display shows the insulation resistance in real-time. Alarm LEDs provide visual indication of an alarm state. Two voltage-free SPDT alarm contacts are available. The isopv is compatible with BENDER's advanced communication system for remote visualization capabilities. isopv Features Fufills ground fault detection requirements of NEC 690.35 and CEC 64-018(1)(e) for ungrounded solar arrays Fufills upcoming 2014 requirements of NEC 690.5(A)(1) and NEC 690.35(C)(1) for isolation testing of solar arrays (grounded and ungrounded) prior to startup Designed specifically for photovoltaic systems up to 793 VAC / 1100 VDC May also be used to check PV isolation before system startup on all types of arrays Two separately adjustable response values 0.2 100 kω Various AMP Plus measurement methods s selectable for optimized use Automatic adaptation to the system leakage capacitance Info button to display device settings and system leakage capacitance Self monitoring with automatic alarm Automatic self test, selectable for external meter Test and reset button External test/reset button terminals Two SPDT alarm contacts Normally energized or de-energized operation, selectable Backlit LCD display RS-485 interface The isopv may also be used for determining PV circuit isolation prior to system startup per upcoming requirements in the 2014 NEC. Function When the insulation resistance from system to ground falls below the set response value, the alarm relays switch and the alarm LEDs activate. Two separately adjustable alarmcontacts can be set to a prewarning and main warning alarm. The measured value is indicated on the LCD display or an externally connectable measuring instrument. A fault storage setting allows the device to reset automatically or require a manual reset. An external and internal test/reset can be activated remotely or on the device. A comprehensive INFO menu displays additional information such as the system's leakage capacitance. The isopv monitors the equipment ground connection to ensure proper operation. The device's easy-to-use onboard menu manages all settings via the detailed LCD screen. The disconnect relays and control inputs F1/F2 integrated into the iso-pv guarantee no interference with other BENDER devices when system coupling is activated. Measurement Method The IRDH275(B) series uses the AMP Plus measuring principle. This measuring principle allows for the concise monitoring of modern power supply systems, pure DC systems, systems where AC/DC rectification and power conversion may occur, and systems with high leakage capacitances.
