Chemical Protection Suits We use 3 types of chemical suits depending on the emergency situation 1. Splash protection 2. Medium protection 3. Full protection

A light protection suit Operational possibilities: For dealing with chemical products which have a low hazard close to normal working levels (not suitable for gas or vapour hazards). Splash protection when pumping chemicals. Cleaning operations. For use by work safety observers. Breathing protection. According to the level of concentration or toxicity the following can be used: BA Face mask with filter Material: Neoprene / Hypalone mix

Middle protection suit Operational possibilities: If BA protection is not required. 1. During work in confined spaces (shafts and such like) 2. If columns or tanks need to be entered through small man holes. 3. On over head pipelines. Breathing protection. According to the level of concentration or toxicity the following can be used: - BA - Face mask with filter - 1, 2 & 3 in combination with a fresh air low pressure hose with continuous flow valve supply system. Material: Hypalon Face mask not fitted fitted gloves fitted boots

Full Protection The heavy CPS protects the wearer and the BA equipment he is wearing. Operational possibilities: During operations where the chemical product is not know. Rescue operations. For operations dealing with skin resorptive and or corrosive chemicals. For sealing leakages on pipes, valves and so on. For spill control operations. For gas leakages such as chlorine or ammonia. For dealing with cold substances (thermal inner gloves and boots required) Breathing protection: BA units only Material: Viton, Hypalon, Butyl rubber and a Viton / Butyl combination

Operational Experience 1. Respond to emergency operations wearing fire fighting overall and use explosion reading equipment. 2. During fire emergencies always wear fire fighting overall. 3. For chemical gas or toxic substance releases use full chemical protection suit. 4. For rescue operations involving hazardous substances use 2 rescue teams One equipped with fire fighting overall (ready on arrival) and the second in full chemical protection (suit type after situation assesment). 5. Always use 3 man response teams (2 responders and 1 safety leader)

Products being developed and tested to date A fire service boot for use in explosive areas Breathing apparatus with integrated securing system Chemical protection suit with integrated securing system Thank you for you attention.
