Annex A 1 of 30 Description of the Products. Non-standard portable fire extinguisher (brief description of the Products and their performance). The Products are devices to combat fire effectively, easy to use and operate, and with the appropriate size for their handling. The products work very fast when they come into contact with open fire. The resultant fire can be fought immediately at the start, so that any subsequent damage will be limited. The Products have been developed as prevention devices complementary to standard fire extinguishers. 1.0 Range of Products. The FKO KOM4T Fire Knock Out range of products consists of: FKO KOM4T PRODUCTS RANGE FKO KOM4T 1.6 FOAM FKO KOM4T 5.6 FOAM - 1.6kg package based on - 5.6kg package based on a a foam fluid foam fluid 1.1 Features The red coloured FKO KOM4T Fire Knock Out Products are labelled indicating the type of extinguisher. The foam based products are suitable to use for fires of classes A, B and C. The activating fuses are fixed around the product from a closing cap. Container, cap and other separate parts: 100% recyclable plastics (PE) 2. Extinguishing fluid 1.350 cc (W.t. %) Dihedral Alcohol 28,30 ± 0,50 Betaine (amphoteric surfactants) 0,91 ± 0,05 Vegetable polysaccharide 0,04 ± 0,03 Fluorocarbon surfactant 0,17 ± 0,02 Distilled water 70,50 ±1,50 3. Tube with activating powder 1,4 gram grey gun powder Magnesium Perchlorate 59% Aluminium 23% Sulphur 13% Saw-dust 5% 4. Quick activation fuse cotton with dextrin and gun powder, protected by a red and water-resistant cover of paper and plastic.

The workings of the FKO Fire Knock Out 1.6 products can be divided in the following 4 steps: (A) (B) (C) (D) The FKO Fire Knock Out reacts within seconds after the fuses get in contact with open fire. Through the energy released by this activation, the container opens. With the help of the high force opening the extinguishing fluid is spread over the fire in very little drops (haze) and changes into steam. The steam leads to a fast decrease of temperature and prevents the fire to get in contact with oxygen again. An environmental friendly product in the extinguishing fluid covers the inflammable materials (D), in order to minimize the risk of reigniting of the fire.

First aid: Skin: clean with water and soap - Eyes: clean with fresh water - In case of drinking: consult doctor. Fire and Explosion: Flammability: non-flammable - Ignition temperature: non-flammable - Special precautions: none. By spilling : Clean area with water. Stocking: Keep them in original packages and do not open the products or separate the components of the products. The pallets with products should not be stored upon each other. Hygienic precautions: No special precautions others than normally done like washing hands with water and soap before eating when hands where in contact with the product. When for a long period hands can be in contact with the liquid it is needed the use of rubber hand gloves. It is necessary the use of safety glasses when there is a risk for splash of liquid. Annex A 5 of 30 1.6 FKO KOM4T 1.6 FOAM: (ONLY PREVENTIVE use!) instructions for use. Attention! The FKO KOM4T 1.6 products are meant to be complementary to existing standard fire extinguishers, and not to replace them. The FKO KOM4T 1.6 FOAM is only to be used as a fire prevention product. Never try to extinguish a fire yourself. Always first put yourself and others in a safe position, and call the national alarm number afterwards! Provide places with an increased fire risk with the FKO KOM4T 1.6 products, for instance: - Meter cupboard, fuse box; - Central heating boilers; - Garages, sheds; - Cars, boats, caravans, etc. The products are broadly applicable because their low weight and small size. The FKO Fire Knock Out KOM4T 1.6 can be used at open and closed areas. IMPORTANT! - FKO KOM4T products should never be ignited manually; this is strictly forbidden and can lead to severe injuries. - FKO KOM4T products are temperature proof and only react to open fires. - FKO KOM4T products have to be placed beyond the reach of children and youngsters. - Extinguishing fluids should not be swallowed. - It is necessary to keep a safe distance between persons and FKO KOM4T products. - FKO KOM4T products are not allowed to be bought or used by persons under the age of 18. - The operation of the FKO KOM4T products is guaranteed at temperatures from (minus) -20 C to 80 C. - After the contact of fire extinguishing fluids with skin, rinsing with water should be sufficient.

Annex A 10 of 30 2.4 FKO KOM4T 5.6 FOAM: (PREVENTIVE/ACTIVE use by fire-fighters) instructions for use. The FKO KOM4T 5.6 products are meant to be complementary to existing fire extinguishers, and not to replace them. The FKO Fire Knock Out KOM4T 5.6 FOAM can be used only by trained people or professionals as an active fire fighting (and preventive) product. The FKO KOM4T 5.6 model has a plastic handle, making it easy to carry around or hang it up as a preventive measure. After being trained for its use, professionals can use the FKO Fire Knock Out KOM4T 5.6 products in the following cases and scenarios, among others: - Car, truck, yacht, (motor)ship, train fires; - Home, caravan, garage, warehouse, plant and factory fires; - Forest, bush, wood fires; - Energy plants, petrochemical industry, etc. The products are broadly applicable because of their low weight and their small size. The FKO Fire Knock Out KOM4T 5.6 can be used at open and closed areas. Aim of the course: To provide the course member with theoretical and practical knowledge about: - Principles of a combustion - Risk of combustible products - Fire triangle - Flash-over - Workings principles of FKO KOM4T Fire Knock Out - How to use FKO KOM4T Fire Knock Out products in practical situations Contents theoretical lesson. The FKO KOM4T Fire Knock Out products, different from standard fire extinguishers, do not have internal pressure and therefore they do not need regular checks nor need to be refilled. The operation of the FKO KOM4T Fire Knock Out products is guaranteed during a period of 5 years from the manufacturing date.
