Itho Advance heat recovery ventilation unit comfortable indoor climate
Advance heat recovery ventilation unit In order to make modern dwellings more energy efficient the insulation and air tightness has been improved. Therefore more controlled and better ventilation, for a healthy and comfortable indoor climate, are very important considerations today. The Advance unit will ventilate the house in full compliance with current building regulations, whilst retaining the energy to an efficiency of up to 90% with a specific fan power (SFP) as low as 0.37 W/Ls. The Advance is developed for apartments and small houses with up to 115 m 2 of internal, habitable floor area. It can be fitted as a wall, ceiling or floor mounted unit. The required space 597 mm width x 280 mm depth x 760 mm height makes it possible to fit the unit in the space of a kitchen cupboard. Advance. Advance, principle Description of the unit The Advance body is made out of two parts of low weight EPP Stale air from dwelling Fresh air to dwelling Stale air to outside Fresh air from outside material, bonded together for optimal air tightness. The plastic heat exchanger is a part of the body. Electronics, including the fan motor, are easily removed by pulling out the complete motor unit. The fan motor has two coupled, high performance backwards curved fans and is always running at a speed, selected by the end user. Supply air from outside passes the heat exchanger and will be heated by the exhaust air from the dwelling. Due to the cooling down of the exhaust air condensate will be formed and come out at the condensate trap to the waste pipe. In winter time when the outside temperature is below zero C for a longer periode of time there is a risk of a frozen heat exchanger. A built in electronic frost protector will control the fan speed to avoid a frozen heat exchanger. 1

Unique selling points: - Unique mounting bracket can be fitted to the ducting at first fix. - Less parts for an optimised internal air tightness and a high performance. - Filters can be replaced by the end user without the need for tools. - Compact dimensions unit can be located in the space of a kitchen cupboard. - Low speed air fans for reduced noise. - Horizontal and vertical mounting. - Self-sealing duct connections, no tape necessary! - Right and left side reversible for easy on site installation. - Light weight single person installation. - Control options can either be hard wired to a switch or by an RFT wireless controller (optional extra). Service, maintenance and commissioning Easy service, maintenance and commissioning by pulling the unit out of the mounting bracket, without disconnec ting the already installed ductwork! Replacing the filters can be done by the end user without the need for tools. In the event of a fault or to clean the air fans, the service technician can easily pull out the complete module from the unit. Dismounting the printed circuit board is possible without tools. Any necessary maintenance can be carried out with the unit in situ. Controls The Advance unit has a 3-speed controlled fan motor. The low and boost speed can be adjusted by a manual potentiometer at the top of the unit. The middle speed is automatically set by the software and is at the optimum point between the low and boost speeds. When there are very low outside temperatures for more than 24 hours the Advance unit has a built-in temperature sensor, located within the supply air from outside, to switch-off the fan motor. If this occurs the fan motor will switch off for a short period and will automatically restart itself when the temperature rises. For uninterrupted air supply and extract volumes in regions with low outside temperatures ( 10 C for more than 24 hours), a pre-heater in the supply air from outside to the dwelling is required. 3
