TAKING THE UNIT OUT OF OPERATION FOR EXTENDED PERIODS... 9 8. DISPOSAL...9 9. IF A PROBLEM ARISE, CHECK FIRST...10 10. ELECTRICAL INTERFACES...10 11. GUARANTEE CONDITIONS...11 EN Safety instructions Please read this operating and maintenance guide carefully and also give it to anyone else assigned the task of handling and using this unit. This operating and maintenance guide must be kept during the expected service life of the unit and also always be available at the unit. After delivery, immediately check the unit for transport damage and make sure it works. All safety devices must be present and functional before operating the unit. The unit may only be operated in its position of use (standing on the rollers). (Please observe the installation instructions.) The unit is used to store pre-chilled goods. Therefore any other use is considered to be improper. The unit starts to run straight away once it is connected to its supply voltage. Note the power rating on the type plate as well as the relevant local electrical safety regulations before connecting the unit to the power supply. Do not heat the unit to more than 70 C (158 F). Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight. Do not clean the unit with highpressure cleaners or steam jets. Work on the electrical system and refrigeration system may only be performed by specialists. If this is not observed, all guarantee and liability claims become null and void. 3

EN IMPORTANT! Lack of maintenance will cause e-coolios to break down. Keep the condenser (grill) clean and free of obstruction. It must stay open to circulate air for cooling. Care and maintenance of your e-coolio Unit: 1. Clean the condenser (front grill) at least once a month with a brush/vacuum cleaner. 2. Condenser must be cleaned at least 4 times a year with a vacuum cleaner. 3. Clean the in- and outside of the display with water and a non-aggressive detergent. 4. Remember to leave 8 between the back of the dis-play and the surface behind it. 5. Do not stack anything in front of the condenser (grill). Airflow is important in order to perform properly. 4

1. USAGE Operate the unit in a temperature range of 16 C (60.8 F) to a maximum of 25 C (77 F) and in maximum relative air humidity of 60% in accordance with climate class 3. EN The e-coolio is designed for the storage of refrigerated, packaged goods that are already at the desired temperature. The unit may only be used together with the Freshboard TM. See Coolio Freshboard Instructions for assembly of the Freshboard TM. Under no circumstances should you block the ventilation gridd, otherwise the air circulation cannot be maintained. ATTENTION: Any form of unit usage that differs from that which is described is considered to be improper. 2. UNPACKING AND HANDLING ATTENTION: To prevent the e-coolio from being damaged, it may only be transported and stored when in its usage position. Non-observance of this requirement will result in a loss of warranty. If the unit is tilted during transport, then wait at least 2 hours before starting it up in order to prevent any damage. A visual check must be undertaken before and during unpacking of the unit to check for possible transport damage. Please look for dents, scratches, etc. Report any damage to Coolio Intl. and your distributor immediately. Furthermore, Aste s terms and conditions are applicable. 3. INSTALLATION ATTENTION: See Coolio Freshboard tm Instructions for assembly of the Freshboard TM. ATTENTION: Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight. ATTENTION: Only authorized service personnel may change the preset temperature with the temperature controller. 5

EN Only use the e-coolio TM indoors. Install the unit in a well-ventilated location. Make sure it is stable and horizontal. The Freshboard TM must it exactly on the e-coolio TM, otherwise the unit may not be used. It must always stand vertically on the unit. Air circulation around the unit must not be impeded. The unit s air inlets and outlets must not be covered by the Freshboard TM or products (see Freshboard TM instructions). Avoid droughts and major thermal irradiation at the installation site. Therefore, do not put units in front of radiators, heaters or under air vents. Maintain a distance of at least 20cm to neighboring surfaces (e.g. walls). Apply brakes to the roller braking mechanism (see Figure 1). Apply brake Release brake Figure 1. Steering rollers with braking mechanism Do not point spotlights at the unit. Any heat that is incident on the unit will lead to increased operating costs and may have an adverse effect on the performance of the unit. 4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION The national standards and safety regulations for electrical installations must be complied with ATTENTION: The mains voltage and frequency must match the nominal values given on the unit s rating plate. ATTENTION: Work on the electrical systems may only be performed by a qualified electrician. The relevant local safety regulations must be observed. 6

ATTENTION: If the power cord becomes damaged, it must be replaced by Aste or the Aste s service partner. The unit is a ready-to-use compact unit. The power cord must be connected at the back of the cooling unit. The use of extension cables or alternatively multiple power outlets should be avoided if at all possible. If it is absolutely necessary, then make sure that the cables being used don t fall below the minimum cross-section of 2.4 mm 2. Only connect units to power outlets with an earthing contact on a separate circuit. You should never connect more than 2 units to any one electric circuit. EN Low voltage or unit disconnections are not permitted because they may lead to malfunctions. If these safety regulations are not observed, then any claim from the warrantee and/or and compensation for damages are excluded. 5. START-UP AND OPERATION ATTENTION: When the supply voltage is connected, the cooling unit starts working immediately. Before being started up (after installation see chapter 3), the unit must reach a minimum temperature of +16 C (60.8 F), otherwise the unit must be brought up to ambient temperature. Make sure that the products do not block the ventilation grid. 6. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING ATTENTION: Do not clean the unit with high-pressure cleaners or steam jets. ATTENTION: Do not warm up units to more than 70 C (158 F) and do not subject them to excess heat (radiant heaters, etc.). ATTENTION: Only the ventilation grill to the condenser may be opened (see Figures 2 and 3). Other covers on the unit may only be opened by a trained specialist. 7

EN ATTENTION: The condenser must be given a thorough cleaning with a brush / vacuum cleaner at least every three months. ATTENTION: When cleaning the condenser, wear safety gloves (danger of injury). ATTENTION: When cleaning the condenser, make sure that the fins are not damaged (=bent). Monthly cleaning: Unload product Unplug unit Remove Freshboard TM (see Freshboard TM Manual) Allow the cooling unit to defrost for four hours Clean the outside of the unit with a damp cloth. Use a mild detergent. Dry the previously cleaned surfaces with a dry cloth. Setup a new Freshboard TM (see Freshboard tm Manual). Plug in the cooling unit. Put the products back. Cleaning the condenser: Clean the condenser with a brush or vacuum cleaner. To do this, remove the screws on the ventilation grid in order to reach the condenser (see Figures 2 and 3). Replace the ventilation grid after cleaning the condenser. Figure 2. The front grill is mounted to the frame with two magnets (at the top). Figure 3. After removing the front grill, clean the condenser. 8

7. TAKING THE UNIT OUT OF OPERATION FOR EXTENDED PERIODS ATTENTION: Before moving the e-coolio, first drain the water by opening the drain plug (see figure 4). Remove or relocate all products. Unplug the cooling unit from the mains. Remove the Freshboard tm (see Freshboard tm Manual). Release the braking mechanism (see figure 1) Use a recipient to collect the water. Open the drain plug by turning the cap counter-clockwise (see Fig. 4). Empty the cooling unit by tilting the unit. After emptying, close the drain plug by turning the cap clockwise EN Figure 4a. Drain plug is placed bottom of the e-coolio. Figure 4b. Drain plug cap has a holder. Do not try to remove the cap from e-coolio. 8. DISPOSAL WARNING: Thermal insulation material is EPP Do not put the unit in with regular waste. Please check your obligations in accordance with the national WEEE provisions and the local WEEE disposal partner. Ensure that the piping is not damaged in the process. 9

9. IF A PROBLEM ARISE, CHECK FIRST EN Is the power plug plugged in properly? Is the socket live? Is the display active? Are the air intake openings blocked by products? If the fault is not caused by any of these, please call your local service partner. 10. ELECTRICAL INTERFACES e-coolio includes two different type of electrical interfaces input: 230V/50Hz (see figure 5) output:12v, 2pcs (see figure 6) Figure 5. The main power input socket (230V) is placed on back side of e-coolio. Figure 6. Two 12V outputs for LED lightning are placed on top front of e-coolio. 10
