Page No: 3 DESCRIPTION The Model HCD4000 is an automated Hydrocarbon Dew Point Analyzer and consists of an assembly of certified components. The components are mounted within a culus listed Adalet enclosure XCE-121806 explosionproof enclosure for use in Class I, Div 1, Groups B, C and D. The enclosure is modified by Adalet to add four ¾ NPT threaded holes (two on each side of the enclosure) and three ½ NPT threaded holes on the bottom. The two holes on the right side of the enclosure are for power entry, the two holes on the left side of the enclosure are for signal entry. Two of the holes on the bottom of the enclosure are for gas entry and exit and the third hole is for a breather/drainer. The maximum enclosure dimensions are approximately 17 by 22 x 9-1/2. The threaded openings for the gas entry and exit are each fitted with a flame arrestor. The Model HCD4000 is rated for -10 to 40 C ambient temperature. Ratings: TEST REPORT Measured Voltage: 100.1 Vac 120.3 Vac 132.1 Vac 216.1 Vac 240.2 Vac Measured Current: 1.097 A 0.936 A 0.870 A 0.694 A 0.675 A Calculated VA: 109 VA 112 VA 114 VA 150 VA 162 VA The 150 VA on the nameplate is acceptable as the 162.1 VA does not exceed the marked rating by more than 10% Temperature Rise: Temperature rise measurements were made with a representative unit operating at 240 Vac. The internal temperature rise below the power supplies was measured as 11 K, including a 5 K uncertainty. With a rated 40 C ambient temperature, the maximum temperature is calculated as 51 C. The MDR-60-5 and the MDR-10-24 are rated to 60 C and no derating is required. The MDR-10-5 must be derated from 3 A to 2.9 A. The MDR-10-5 V power supply is used at a maximum of approximately 1 A. The top of the enclosure was measured as having a 11 K rise, including a 5 K uncertainty. This is consistent with a T6 temperature classification. Dielectric Test: Each unit was tested at 1500 Vac for one minute between supply and neutral conductors shorted together and the enclosure. The two power supplies were disconnected during this test. Explosive Seals test: The manifold and piping was tested at 4716 psi for 2 minutes. There was no leakage or rupture at this pressure. This is consistent with a 1500 psi rating. The Ashcroft Pressure Sensor and the flame arrestors were removed during this test based upon their published rating. No further testing was deemed necessary. End of Report
