INSTALLATION Prior to installation, test the electrical service to assure that it agrees with the specifications on the machine data plate located above the top shelf on the left column inside the unit. Appliances equipped with a flexible electric supply cord are provided with a three- or four-prong grounding plug. This plug must be connected into a properly grounded three- or four-prong receptacle. If the receptacle is not the proper grounding type, contact an electrician. Do not remove the grounding prong from this plug. UNPACKING Immediately after unpacking the deli display case, check for possible shipping damage. If the deli display case is found to be damaged after unpacking, save the packaging material and contact the carrier within 15 days of delivery. Remove all vinyl protection from the stainless steel surfaces of the display case and any tape from the glass and steel surfaces. The plastic strips, keeping the shelves in place during transport, can be removed as follows: 1. Bend the strip keeping the top shelf in place. 2. Slide the top of the strip to the left or the right and remove it. 3. Remove the other strips by lifting the shelves. 4. Push the shelves entirely to the back. Unpack the parts that need to be assembled: CLD25 Parts packed and placed on top of the unit Front part plinth 1 Right part plinth 1 Left part plinth 1 6

Carefully follow the same steps in reverse order to put the slide holder back in place. NOTE: Push the bottom profile as far as possible on the frame with the glasses. 8

APPLYING PRICE CARDS The price cards must be applied inside plastic price rail. This can be done with the shelf in place. Follow the instructions below. Fig. 10 1. Open the underside of the price card profile. 2. Slide in the price card (Fig. 10). LOCATION The installation location must allow adequate clearances for servicing and for proper operation. There must be at least 6 inches (150 mm) clearance between two units or between units and other equipment or a wall. Because the front of the unit is open, it should not be placed near a door opening, a fan or a hot unit, in order to avoid any negative effects of a hot airflow on the unit s operation. Be sure that the ambient temperature does not exceed 80ºF (27 ºC) or drop below 41 ºF (5 ºC). The units are only intended for indoor use. Following installation, wait at least half an hour before you switch the unit on, to achieve good lubrication of the compressor. 9

INSTALLATION CODES AND STANDARD In the United States, all CLD series of deli display cases must be installed according to the following codes: 1. State and local codes. 2. National Electric Code, ANSI/NFPA (latest edition). Copies may be obtained from the National Fire Protection Association, Batterymarch Park, Quincy, MA 02269. In Canada, all CLD series of deli display cases must be installed according to the following codes: 1. Local codes. 2. Canadian Electric Code, CSA C22.2 (latest edition) available from the Canadian Standard Association, 5060 Spectrum Way, Suite 100, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada L4W 5N6. 10

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS Electrical and grounding connections must comply with the applicable portions of the national electrical code and / or other local electrical codes. Disconnect electrical power supply and place a tag at the disconnect switch indicating that you are working on the circuit. Ensure that the electrical power supply agrees with the specifications on the display's data plate and complies with the wiring diagram, on the field wiring connection box. Refer to the ELECTRICAL DATA chart below. ELECTRICAL DATA Model Volts Hertz Phase Amps CLD25 Cold 115V 60 1 14.6 BEFORE FIRTS USE Disconnect the electrical power to the machine and follow lockout / tag out procedures. 1. Clean, sanitize, rinse and wipe dry the display case and all its parts and accessories both inside and outside. Refer to Cleaning for further instructions. OPERATION Fig.11 12

POWER ON DISPLAY CASE (fig. 11) 1. Put the plug in the outlet. 2. Turn on the light with the light on / off switch. 3. Turn on the refrigerating unit with the refrigeration on / off switch. TEMPERATURE DISPLAY The unit is factory programmed to achieve a product temperature of 32 41 ºF (0 5 ºC) at the required ambient conditions. The temperature can be seen on the temperature display (fig.12). The output indicator will light as the unit is cooling down. Fig. 12 COOL DOWN 1. Pull the curtain down and hook the notch on the back of the grip under the buffer rail on the front of the unit. 2. Allow the case to cool down 15 to 30 minutes. 3. Verify that the display case is at the proper temperature 32 41 ºF (0 5 ºC). Case temperature is displayed as shown (Fig. 12). LOADING FOOD PRODUCT INTO THE DISPLAY CASE 1. Only load packaged products of which the maximum temperature is max. 41ºF (5 ºC). 2. The maximal loading height on the top shelf is 4 inches (100 mm), on the other shelves 6 inches (150 mm). 3. The maximum capacity for each shelf is 66 lbs, by equal load. CHECKING THE TEMPERATURE During operation of the unit the inside temperature is show on the temperature display. The maximum reading must not exceed 41 ºF (5 ºC). 13

SHUTDOWN SWITCHING OFF 1. Remove, discard or properly store any remaining food products. 2. Switch the cooling off. 3. Switch the lighting off. CLEANING Disconnect electrical power before cleaning. CAUTION Do not clean with oven cleaners. Do not clean with a (high-)pressure hose. Do not use scouring pads or abrasives. END OF DAY Cleaning the Interior of the Case CAUTION Do not use excessive amounts of water. Do not clean with a pressure hose. 1. Wash with warm soapy water, rinse, sanitize and dry with soft clean cloth. 2. Clean interior stainless steel surfaces with warm soapy water, rinse and wipe dry with a soft cloth. NOTE: The shelves can be removed for easy cleaning. Fig. 13 Fig. 14 14

1. Lift the shelf at the front taking it out of the notches in the support (Fig. 13). 2. Slide the shelf towards you, supporting it from below. 3. Take it from the unit. 4. Clean, but do not submerge, and avoid water from entering the inside. Note: Refer to Guidelines for Maintaining Aluminium Surfaces 5. Slide the shelf over the supports and be sure that the supports are situated in the channels on the sides (fig 14). 6. Lower the shelf and slide as far as possible to the back. The shelf is blocked because the pins fall in the notches on the supports. Cleaning the glass 1. Clean all glass surfaces with warm soapy water, rinse and dry, or use a commercial glass cleaner. Guidelines for Maintaining Stainless Steel Surfaces There are four basic things that can break down the surface layer of stainless steel and allow corrosion to develop: 1) Abrasion, 2) Deposits, 3) Water and 4) Chlorides. Avoid abrasion from rubbing with steel pads, wire brushes or scrapers that can leave iron deposits on stainless steel; instead, use plastic scouring pads or soft cloths. For stubborn stains, use products such as Cameo, Talc or Zud First Impression. Always rub parallel to the polish lines or with the grain. Hard water can leave deposits that promote rust on stainless steel. Treated water from softeners or certain filters can eliminate these mineral deposits. Deposits from food must be properly removed by cleaning. Use mild detergent and non-chloride cleaners. Rinse thoroughly. Wipe dry. If using chloride containing cleaners or sanitizers, rinse repeatedly to avoid stainless steel corrosion. Where appropriate, apply a polish recommended for stainless steel (such as Benefit or Super Sheen) for extra protection and luster. Guidelines for Maintaining Aluminium Surfaces Only use soft soap or cleaner to avoid discolouring or corrosion of the aluminium under sides of the shelves. 15

WEEKLY Check the power supply cord for damage. Contact your supplier/service agency immediately when the power cord is damaged. Immediate replacement is necessary because of possible danger. Remove the suction grid. Remove the bottom plate from the unit and clean the space below if necessary. NOTE: When replacing the bottom plate, shift as far as possible back. If well positioned the plate is fixed in the unit because it falls into notches. Replace the bottom plate and the suction grid. MONTHLY The condenser of the cooling unit must be clean for a continuing good operation. Therefore it is important to keep it as free form dust as possible. Remove the ventilation grid in front of the condenser unit (fig. 15). Clean the condenser using a long haired soft brush. Replace the ventilation grid. Fig. 15 16
