Header Types Pipe & Bend Built to all quality systems, except API 661 Low initial cost Lightweight Flexible connection locators Pressures up to 5,150 PSIG Constructed in a thermal counter flow configuration (regardless of connection location requirements) Plug Box Built to all quality systems/standards Accessibility to each individual tube Tube joints can be repaired or sealed off Heavy duty construction Ideal for high fouling services Pressures up to 5500 PSIG Slab Head Built to all quality systems / standards Lower cost than Plug Box construction at high pressure Ideal for high pressure applications (up to 6,500 PSIG with lower process flows) Tube joints can be repaired or sealed off Accessibility to each individual tube Bonnets / Removable Covers Built to all quality systems/standards Provides accessability to every tube, once cover is removed Tube joinings can be repaired or sealed off Ideal for high fouling services Typically utilized for lower pressure services 9

Unit Configurations Forced Draft The most common configuration, FD configurations allow for easy access to all mechanical components supporting maintenance operations and plant expansions. Induced Draft Used to minimize effects of the environment and minimizes the chances of hot air recirculation. Push-Pull This design provides 100% fan redundancy without adding extra heat transfer surface area and provides a lower cost alternative to the traditional 2 x 100% specification. This design can be used in any service but it is commonly used in lube oil and water service. It is a great option when addressing the API-614 redundancy requirement. 10

J-Units This unit configuration is common in the compression industry and mounts up against compressor houses. The tube bundles are vertically mounted, air is drawn across them and then turns 90 degrees discharging upwards. The design allows for either an engine drive or an electric motor drive application. V-Core The V-Core configuration enables maximum cooling in a small space because of its greater primary surface area. This design works well for commercial units that are Water/Glycol/Fluid Coolers or Refrigerant Condensers although it is not limited to these products. Vertical Core Vertical core coolers are very compact and cost effective. They provide great flexibility to meet space constraints within challenging environments, such as fitting in a containerized skid while the process piping runs directly back to the equipment needing cooling. 11
