On 14 January 2015, Louis Berger was notified by the USPS of an alarm that was active from the methane detection system at the site. Louis Berger immediately (and under emergency funding authorization) dispatched our local Teaming Partner (Professional Service Industries [PSI] of Plymouth, MI) to the site. PSI secured a flame ionization detector (FID) for use in analyzing for the presence of methane and arrived on site at approximately 1900 EST. The attached summary details the observations and equipment details. In summary, no levels of methane were detected that would represent a health and safety concern for the occupants of the building. If you should have any questions or would like to discuss any of the findings in this summary, please call Jon Seckinger at (610) 280-4019 (or via email at jseckinger@louisberger.com) or Vince Ricevuto at (610) 363-5391 (or via email at vricevuto@louisberger.com). Louis Berger appreciates the opportunity to provide the USPS with professional environmental services. Sincerely, The Louis Berger Group, Inc. The Louis Berger Group, Inc. Jonathan B. Seckinger, P.G. (PSI) has performed emergency indoor air sampling for methane at the above referenced property. Based on the results of the sampling event, no immediate health or safety concerns were identified with regard to methane levels in the facility. It appears that there is a fault in the system, triggering the alarms that have been noted by USPS personnel. We have attached a copy of the certificate of calibration, a sample results table, as well as a sample location map from yesterday s sampling event.
