Construction HEAT EXCHANGER Heat exchanger is made of aluminium, which means greater conductivity compared with common steel solutions. Double ribbing and unique design create a floor effect, i.e. smaller temperature stratification in the heated room. No welded connections and special clamps used when assembling the exchanger with the combustion chamber guarantee full tightness and high reliability. FAN Axial fan in ROBUR M heater produces flow of warm air into the room. Radial fan in ROBUR MC heater enables operation with mixing chamber, which ensures two functions - heating and ventilation. ATMOSPHERIC BURNER MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL Simple construction made of stainless steel and no welded connections exclude changes in material structure and increase reliability of the element. WIDE RANGE OF UNITS Wide range of units (10 models) makes it possible to precisely match the heating capacity and type of unit to customer needs. 4 www.flowair.com

Construction AIR FLOW REGULATION Regulation of warm air flow supplied into the room depending on inlet air temperature. It enables the supply of warm, fresh air even at extremely low outdoor temperatures, i.e. -40 o C. OUTDOOR INSTALLATION Outdoor installation of the unit enables full or partial supply of the fresh air and additional space in the room. BURNER MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL Simple construction made of stainless steel and no welding connections exclude changes in material structure and increase reliability of the element. AXIAL FAN Axial fan with increased static pressure allows the use of duct installation or mixing chamber, so the heater can perform two functions - heating and ventilation. 10 www.flowair.com

Construction HEAT EXCHANGER Heat exchanger is made of aluminium, which means greater conductivity compared with common steel solutions. Double ribbing and unique design create a floor effect, i.e. smaller temperature stratification in the heated room. CLOSED COMBUSTION CHAMBER Construction made of stainless steel, no welded connections and special clamps used when assembling the exchanger with the combustion chamber guarantee full tightness and high reliability. BURNER Construction made of stainless steel and clenched edges exclude changes in material structure. Use of fan with gas mixer next to the burner helps in achieving optimal gas and air mixture, which reduces NOx particles emission. FAN Axial fan in ROBUR M heater produces flow of warm air into the room. Radial fan in ROBUR MC heater enables operation with mixing chamber, which ensures two functions - heating and ventilation. 18 www.flowair.com

Chimney system consists of following elements: 3 meters of Ø110 duct at exhaust gases side, 2 90 o bends Ø110 at the exhaust gases side, 1 meter of Ø130 duct at the combustion air inlet side Type of duct Quantity Pressure loss Sum Duct Ø110 3 2,09 Pa = 6,27 Pa+ Bends 90 Ø110 3 2,09 Pa = 6,27 Pa+ Duct Ø130 1 0,32 Pa = 0,32 Pa Total loss 12,86 Pa Total pressure loss in the chimney is higher than the maximum permissible loss of 12 Pa. This prevents the use of such a chimney configuration. In this case, you can take the following steps: Change the diaphragm to 40 mm, which will increase the maximum allowable pressure loss in the chimney system up to 24 Pa Increase the diameter of the exhaust gases duct to ø130, Reduce the length of the exhaust gases duct as far as possible. In this case the diaphragma can not be removed - it would reduce the overall pressure drop below the required minimum. www.flowair.com 35

Selection of ventilation air inlet Selection of fresh air inlet (ventilation) Selection of fresh air inlet relies on determining the surface of the hole, assuming a determined air velocity. In case of inlet assumed speed is from 2 to 4 m/s in net hole, it is recommended to assume 2 m/s. Net section is an active area of inlet, after deducting the surface of the dampers, thins, protective mesh etc., and is the characteristic parameter given by the manufacturer depending on the construction. Methods of selecting inlets are usually given by the manufacturer with selection nomograms but you can also use the following formula: where: P czynna active area of air inlet, after calculation select the inlet with similar area [m 2 ] V air stream flowing through the air inlet, depending on type of unit and recirculation rate [m 3 /s] v air velocity through the air inlet, it is recommended to assume 2 [m/s] [m/s] Exemplary selection of minimum active area of air inlet for Robur F1 41 C with mixing chamber: Air inlet should be selected from manufacturers catalogues according to this value. Selection of a suitable air inlet area is very important, too small active area can cause: excessive pressure drop in the air inlet site, resulting in smaller air flow through the unit which in turn may lead to overheating and signaling failure status of the heater, excessive noise at air velocity above 4 m s (obvious effect of exceeding the recommended air velocity for the air intake will be e.g. a distinctive whistle). The location of ventilation air inlet in relation to the exhaust gases outlet (the end of the exhaust duct) is strictly defined by law and depends on many factors, such as location in relation to the windows, neighboring buildings, etc. Each time, it should be analyzed and the appropriate air/exhaust and ventilation ducts lengths should be selected. Detailed guidelines can be found in the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure from 12 April 2002 about technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location, with further changes. www.flowair.com 37
