Commercial Vehicle Systems Product Information...... Desiccant Cartridges Conventional and Oil Separator Cartridges (OSC)...... products derived from proven Technology
Product Information Desiccant Cartridges - Essential for Safety All air braking and suspension systems require clean, dry air to function correctly, efficiently and safely. desiccant cartridges, derived from proven Technology, deliver exactly what is needed...... good quality, clean, dry air! Model Types There are two main types of desiccant cartridge: The conventional cartridge is the most commonly used cartridge today and has well proven effectiveness in preventing moisture and particles from compressed air, from entering the air systems. The, a 2 in 1 cartridge, is a development from the conventional cartridge. Its unique design carries all the benefits of the conventional cartridge but also filters and removes practically all oil impurities before the air reaches the desiccant. By doing so it protects not only the air systems from oil contamination but also the desiccant itself assuring an optimal drying performance and long lasting functionality. OSC Standard height: 165 mm Standard height: 165 mm Recommended service interval under normal use: Reduced height: 135 mm 2 Years 1 Year 1 Year
Filter Cartridges Conventional Desiccant Cartridge Dries and cleans compressed air. Applicable to all types of air dryers with a standard spin-on cartridge connection. Available in two height and three thread variations, including special thread for high pressure applications. Available for very low temperature applications to -45 C. Uses a highly effective, well proven desiccant. Supplied complete with sealing rings. 2 in 1 filtering system in one cartridge Oil particle removal Moisture removal Pre-elimination of oil particles and possible aerosols, before they reach the desiccant, ensures an optimal air drying process during the service life of the cartridge. Elimination of oil contamination in the air systems ensures a reduced vehicle downtime, provided the cartridge is installed in a new or maintained compressed air system - think OSC for the next maintenance service! Available in the standard height and with a range of thread connections to suit the majority of existing air dryers and vehicle applications. Supplied complete with sealing rings. Optimised function for conventional and modern mechatronic and air brake systems
Product Information First eliminates oil particles - then cleans and drys the air OSC Clean, dry air Oil contamination increases the cost of maintenance of the vehicle (braking system, suspension system and transmission management). 1st phase filtering oil particles and aggressive aerosols 2nd phase filtering - moisture Diagram showing filtering function of the OSC Oil Contamination Apart from humidity, the other most common form of contamination comes from oil particles and aerosols. These occur during normal compressor operation but, over time, can cause the following: Clogging problems The OSC from is the result of a major design update and, with its 2 in 1 filter system, not only tackles these contamination problems to the compressed air system, but has been designed so that the filtering sequence also protects the desiccant from contamination. Reduced drying efficiency of the desiccant leading to: Corrosion Freezing problems Damage to the lubricants and seals of products within the system
Filter Cartridges Technological Development Oil separation occurs before air drying, the benefits of which are: No oil contamination of the desiccant, allowing optimal drying performance and maximised service life of the cartridge. Adsorption of oil, oil derivatives and aggressive aerosols with a multilayered fine pore filter (coalescence filter). A 99.99 % filter performance and no possibility for the oil to access the braking and suspension systems. Advantages The application of the OSC on new or well maintained air systems reduces the risk of vehicle breakdowns due to damaged components of the compressed air systems and keeps expensive vehicle downtimes to a minimum. Integrated non-return valve optimizes the use of air streams during the loading and regeneration phases of the OSC: Loading Phase Regeneration Phase Non-return valve remains closed during the loading phase and assures the air stream is only passing through the coalescing filter. After cut-off pressure the non-return valve opens, cleaning the cartridge of condensates and contamination. The regeneration air stream cleans the coalescing filter of particles while the non-return valve is closed.
